a group of altered humans

Magi-Humans
Origin: Human beings have always had the potential to use magic, the only barriers being their own limited understanding, thinking too much as to how the magic works, and even their own animal sides. In history people have used magically endowed objects to give magic powers to humans who can’t other wise use them. However in order for normal humans to use god like magical powers with out assistance from spirits, gods, demons, or other things such as magic items a person had to train their entire lifetime. By the time a person reached the ability to use such powers on their own they were typically very old and very “enlightened” meaning they would have little to do with worldly affairs feeling it was beneath them. This came as a problem during WWI when America and several other countries founded their occult organizations. WWII saw the sudden rise and race for magical powers and items and the early years of the war brought the existence of several older such groups like the Order of the Knights of the Golden Cross to the attention of these newer groups. After the war they found it important to try and figure out a way for normal humans to use intense magical powers with out needing a life time of training. America’s Paranormal Control Agency and The Pacific Rim mystical society both received some un-expected funding and help from the Oblivion corporation (which is really a front for the secret society the H.E.P.) who sell both groups an air born agent that can be used to enhance normal humans so that they have the potential to use more advanced magical powers with less effort. Both groups tested the agent on numerous individuals with little apparent effect. They released these hundreds of test subjects back into the population believing that the agent only worked on a small percentage “which displayed some power”.

Cohora Conflict: It was discovered that everyone the agent was used on was immune to the Cohora nano-bots which turned normal humans into zombies. The Government agencies revealed the existence of the agent to the whole world where the substance was sprayed from planes across the world in the hopes of saving what little remained of the civilian population outside the domes. Almost Every soldier in every remaining military had the agent used on them as well as the use of the Chi-Human formula (described in the Chi-Humans section) during combat it was discovered that everyone the agent was used on had the potential to use magic. Which came as an embarrassment to the original testers as they hadn’t noticed that even with the agent, training as well as focus was still required, and most importantly the individual had to know and believe they could use the powers.

Distant Future: The term Magi-Human no longer exists, because of many generations of interbreeding between Magi-Humans and Chi-Humans they have become what is commonly recognized as just being “Human”. It is common how ever that some people may lean more to one way or the other and as such Schools of Magic have become common across the planet. Except in those kingdoms that have outlawed the use of magic.

alot of my stuff is backstory stuff/creatures and characters. if I had a ghost writter to help on details such as locations and such my main stories would be longer and more detailed.

and here is another installment of Howl of the Heavens

Chapter 8: Moments later
A Skin Walker Encounter

“Well” says Mike, “Jeff, that legend was very interesting, In fact it may be more true than you may think.” “How so?” asked Jeff “In the legend it said that the skin walkers, which is what it was describing with the shape shifting sorcerers, danced around in a circle and talked in a chant. I wasn’t looking for skin walkers but their just might still be some out here, I never did focus my search too close to Brooksville.” “So, you think this black one may be one of these skin walkers?” “No, its not acting like one and my own encounter definitely proves that it wasn’t one.” “How so?” asked Nick who had just walked back into the room, “after all this new one isn’t in the legend, and it was sighted much further north than any one I have heard saying they have seen this grey furry woman.” “Well” Mike answered, “For starters Skin walkers are almost always brown furred, they never have tails in their half form or at least none that are even as long as their legs, and their muzzles make them look more like a baboon than a wolf or any thing else. And they always travel in groups and talk in a chanting tone. And as for the one I encountered, it was alone, was most definitely black, shadowy black even, it had more of a fox crossed with a wolf’s muzzle, kinda jackal like really, and its tail was very long.”

He hesitated to tell them how it talked or about its magical abilities, that was more than they needed to know after all. “So the Legendary Versa has herself a boyfriend who likes to hunt.” Nick said jokingly followed by a chuckle. Mike knew Nick was only joking but he might actually be more right than he knows. Mike remembered it said it’s mate was who he had come to hunt, so it has to be this Versa’s mate that he ran into. “These creatures are clearly a lot stronger than Skin walkers.” He thought, he would however have to worry about those after he has dealt with these false gods.

“You won’t be dealing with anyone you miserable worm.” thought the shadowy stranger outside in the night by the wall. Rhuen had followed Samantha from the moment he sensed an analytical mind thinking about his hunting drive past him on the road leading him right to the werewolf hunter and his cohort’s home base. “These order zealots are bad enough” Rhuen thought as stood up to his full fourteen foot height and moved into the forest, “but a zoologist has the kind of skills that may just find my mate’s den and possibly expose evidence of our existence to the world, while an order priest is taught to keep secrets.” “Even though this one seems to be lacking the stealth I have experienced in the past” Rhuen thought to him self chuckling, “but skin walkers and their kind could be a threat to my offspring in their first few weeks, better take care of this problem right now while I am thinking about it.” And with this thought Rhuen took off towards Brooksville with one thought in his mind “death to the skin walkers.”

From a distance Rhuen can smell his prey. In the distance a fire glows and several figures dance around it chanting, “Blood, flesh, and decaying breath” as well as chanting, “fire, fire burning flesh pyre.” “great” thinks Rhuen, “English speaking Skin walkers, now I have to deal with bad rhymes. Better make this quick so I don’t get a headache,” he stops and scratches the under side of his muzzle while twitching his ear, “but than again I might as well have some fun with them.” With a wave of his arm his body is surrounded by shadows and blue fire as he begins to transform.

In the clearing out side of a small cave the clan of skin walkers is celebrating their latest kills and acquisition. A small girl of maybe six years of age watches while tied up to a wooden post while her parents’ now cooked bodies are eaten by these dirty clothed people she has seen change from the dog monsters that attacked her and her parents while they were jogging out side of town. One of the dirty men walks up to her and tares off the hood to her pink jacket exposing her brunette pony tail and neatly brushed hair and hisses “if you scream you will die like your parents”. She could only cry as this man examined her face, putting his grimy hands on her chine as he turned her face back and forth. He hissed to his clan members, “this girl will do, we should start her transformation soon,”

A haggish woman walked up to her and said, “you are lucky; these others are food, but you will become one of us, and this will all be funny to you then and you will be happy, maybe even call me mommy” at this the hag laughed maniacally while the little brunette girl cried for her mommy.” “I am your mommy now” hissed the hag. She pointed at the corpse and said, “That was food, is food. Time to start your change, trust me you will love this.” She called to one of the clan who was eating the little girl’s mother’s arm, “bring some of that for our little baby girl, she needs to eat her ex-mother’s womb to begin her transformation” As the younger skin walker tore out the shriveled womb from the cooked corpse a figure on the ridge over looking the clearing was about to expose himself when a man with a very long black pony tail and a long black trench coat stepped out of the clearing and walked casually towards the gathering of skin walkers. This caused them to postpone what they were doing and the man hidden in the trees watched as they all surrounded this person who had interrupted them.

Rhuen has entered the clearing in his human form. He can smell the scent of roasting human flesh and one living human child but these do not concern him, for it is the skin walkers he has come for. The whole lot of them surround him as he approaches the fire. They chant at him, “What have we here, what have we here, a little man a little man who wants to die this night.” Rhuen nonchalantly says to them, “You are skin walkers correct? The eaters of human and beast flesh?” “Yes we are, yes we are little human little human and who are you? Come to join the feast? We already have had two, but there is room for one more” “yes one more” they all hiss as they start to run and dance around him in one large circle,. Rhuen estimates about twenty of them, “twenty, that will do for today.” He thinks to himself.

“Before you die tell us why are you here, you are not dressed for the woods, yes tell us now” hissed the lot of them as if of one mind. Rhuen simply answers, “I have come to kill you, if you must know, and all of you will die before this night is over for I can not tolerate your presence; not now at least.” “A werewolf hunter” the hag hisses as she steps back from the rest that are still dancing around him. They start to dance faster. To a normal human they would be a blur. The hag hisses at Rhuen, “You have come to kill us?” “Kill us, kill us he thinks he will kill us” the rest sing back. “With what will you kill us? You have no weapons, we smell no silver or iron on you, you can not win!” the hag screams at him, “Can not win can not win” the dancers hiss in return.

The hag bends over and changes form, an apparently painful change. Rhuen can hear her bones break, her muscles snap, and reform as her face distorts into a hideous muzzle more like a hyena’s or a baboons than an actual canine. Her arms became longer and more muscular covered in brown fur, her bare legs and feet also become muscular but shorter than her arms. Her finger nails and toe nails have become yellow gnarled claws. Her ears have become a mockery of a canine’s ears, long for her head but thin like two pointy pieces of cloth, “those little things can’t be much better than human ears” Rhuen thinks while watching all this. She smiles at him with over sized canines that looked like they belonged in a baboon’s mouth. She hissed at him while the rest changed while dancing apparently more smoothly than the hag, “you see now why it is you who will die.”

As she spoke those words the rest had stopped dancing around Rhuen. Now the twenty of these monsters stood around their apparently defenseless opponent. As they approached him they all hissed in unison, “food, food, food, we shall feast on your flesh, and drink your blood.” Rhuen held out his hand and said, “One moment I have been suppressing a laugh this whole time.” “What?!” yelled back the hag as Rhuen bursts into laughter that changed into a sound like an African wild dog or jackal would make. He turned to them as his eyes started to glow a dark blue. This caused the whole clan to step back as the hag said, “What is this? What are you, a vampire of some sort? It doesn’t matter we are many and are big and strong while you are one and little.” To their surprise this was met with even more of this high pitched laughter as Rhuen said to them, “yes you ARE many, but BIG, not a single one of you would beat six feet even if you stopped hunching over like some B-Movie cavemen.” This resulted in the hag growling at him saying with scorn, “How dare you insult us you filthy vampire, for that we will rip you apart slowly!” “Slowly, slowly” the rest hissed as they started to approach him a bit cautiously. Rhuen stopped laughing as a broad smile crossed his face, “Vampire? You are truly pathetic, such large noses and you still can not smell any better than a human. Can you not tell I am something far greater and something you should truly be afraid of?” “Fear you? Us?” the hag said mockingly which resulted in the rest chanting “fear, fear it, is you who should fear, food, food, you are food.” The skin walker hag followed up with, “So tell us before you die why should we fear you, hmmm?”

Rhuen smiled and said to the circle of skin walkers, “I shall do better than tell you my little snacks I shall show you why YOU SHOULD FEAR ME!!!” His last four words came out of him as loud as thunder causing them all to step back in surprise. Which was soon followed by terror as Rhuen’s body was enveloped by blue flames and shadows followed by a fourteen foot tall black bipedal canine like creature stepping out of the flames which departed soon after. Rhuen now stood before his terrified would be attackers in his giant imposing form. Rhuen said to the surprised skin walkers, “This is why you should fear me. For I am Rhuen and you are all going to be food for my mate Versa.”

Two of the skin walkers jumped at Rhuen who impaled them both on his right claws with one swipe, spurting their blood over the fire, then shaking them off his claw and onto the ground by his feet with so much force as to cause their bodies to bounce and send sprays of blood in all directions. The hag jumped back onto the cliff above the cave where they had left the little girl and yelled at her clan members who where moving in a circle around Rhuen, “You fools we must run or at least attack him all at once, did you not hear? He is the mate of the accursed Versa who chased our people from her mountain three hundred years ago; we must not take him likely we must attack all at once my friends!!!”

As the hag jumped towards Rhuen’s head the rest rushed at him from all directions. However to Rhuen it was like slow motion as he moved faster than they could react or any one could see, he grabbed the closest one from midair threw it at his feet and stomped its ribcage flat beneath his right paw sending a spray of blood from its mouth and causing its eye balls to pop out. In this same instance he impaled another two with his left claw, one with his right, and crushed three with a swing of his long tail. He threw down the ones on his claws and in a flash ran forward and with a swing of his leg and tail scooped up six of them into one clump which he then grabbed up with both hands and crushed together and dropped at his feet. The four between him and the hag who he guessed must be the clan leader he dispatched with two quick swipes of each claw slicing them in half at the mid-section in mid air. The hag he stopped and waited for.

Before her eyes the hag was engulfed in a cloud of kicked up dust from the clearing floor. As she jumped into the dust all she saw were many great teeth, and before she could do anything about it Rhuen snapped down his mighty jaws sending sprays of her blood out from each puncture as he ended her with a single bite.

The figure hidden in the trees could only look on as the skin walkers surrounded the man who after a smattering of dialogue with the skin walkers transformed into a creature he knew as a Dire. In a flash the entire clearing was engulfed in dust which put out the fire, it was like a tornado had appeared from no where. When it cleared all the skin walkers where dead; all badly mutilated, a bunch where in pile where some where apparently crushed together, four where cut in half and the leader was in this giant beast’s mouth.

He watched as this creature which had revealed it’s self to be none other than Rhuen send a stream of light blue energy from his claw which wound around the slain skin walkers tying them together and forming a blue rope. Rhuen then picked up this morbid parcel of bodies which transformed back into people wearing coyote skins and tied it around his shoulders like a bloody back pack and marched off into the woods to the south.

The little girl watched the entire thing from the cave; she watched this man change into a giant dog creature, which then killed all the smaller dog creatures then magically made rope to carry them off. As she watched all this, another man came out of the woods nearby but this man had short brown hair and brown eyes, not at all like the other guy she had tried to scream to but the mean old lady had put a rag in her mouth before leaving her in the cave. This man untied her and told her every thing would be okay now, he was here to help her.

The little girl cried about the ugly monster people killing her mommy and daddy, and how the mean lady tied her up and said mean things to her and put a rag in her mouth, she told the man all this while he was untying her from the post the skin walkers had tied her to. He told her, “it will be all right little girl I am going to take you to the police in Brooksville they are going to take care of you, you just tell the Sheriff there a man named Peter Jones that I found you lost in the woods and that your parents were killed by a cult.” The little girl sobs and said, “But mister the monsters killed them, and my mommy said I should never go with a stranger.” “Its okay” he said, “your mommy was right but don’t worry I wont hurt you I am going to take you to the police and don’t worry I will go inside the police station and make sure you are taken care of okay, but I guess if we are going to trust each other we should know each other’s names mine’s Rick what is yours.” “Alice” “Okay Alice, come along now.”

Rick couldn’t help but think as he took this poor little girl Alice out of the forest and to Brooksville, “that was Rhuen that really was Rhuen, and he said Versa was his mate. That’s the creature that man down in Pine Ridge was going on about, the case I had called my old partner Mike King to look into to assess if their was really a problem, I sure hope Mike left before Rhuen showed up. Mike may be a good werewolf hunter but he is reckless and this is not something you want to be reckless with.”

Rick left Alice with the police at the station in Brooksville but Peter wasn’t there. He doubted he was trained enough to know about something like that anyway, in fact he doubted that even Mike knew about Rhuen. In that instance his cell phone rang, it was the higher ups telling him their was something very important going on in the middle east and that he would need to come to the Vatican to discuss it for they didn’t want to discuss it over an open phone line. Rick thought as he walked out of the police station and looked down at his watch, “Damn If I am going to make that flight they booked me on I will have to leave now, too bad though I really wanted to warn that rookie Peter about Rhuen. Doesn’t matter from what I am told he doesn’t attack people unless provoked any way and Mike should have been out of here by now and I would think Mike would have enough since then to mess with something like Rhuen anyway.” Rick got into his little blue corvette and drove off down the road out of Brooksville and off to catch his plane out of there.

Deep in the woods Rhuen was caring his bundle when he had a thought, “Skin walkers alter their biology through magic so tend to not taste like humans but they started out as human and some clans still have that nasty human taste.” Rhuen sat down his tightly tied bundle and took one of the arms of the now human looking skin walkers and snapped it off at the elbow and sniffed it, “smells like raccoon oddly enough” he thought as he popped it into his mouth and like some coinsure of fine foods rolled it around his tongue tasting it and decided, “nope not like human at all, in fact it taste kind of like raccoon meat.” He picked up his bundle and continued on his way thinking, “I am going to have to move my hunting further away from towns. That human male probably thinks I didn’t notice him there and who knows how many people are wandering the woods near the town. If that zoologist puts together the sightings she just might be able to calculate the location of our den and could even take a film crew there or something, yep best to avoid populated areas for awhile at least until I am sure she and that stupid hunter have given up and left.”

two for one animal deal here

Species: Light Doves & Shadow Ravens

Type: Birds

Diet: Special pellets made just for them

Habitat: Any, kept as pets and for decorative purposes inside homes of powerful beings.

Physical description: The Light Dove is a dove which is glowing white and the Shadow Raven is a raven with an aura of darkness around it.

Name Origin: physical appearances of the creatures gives them their names.

History & Abilities : These two creatures are completely artificial. They were created by “pet” dealers who operate in many of the supernatural circles. The Light Doves were based on doves from Earth and the Shadow Ravens the ravens as both animals have gained a reputation there as being associated with these alignments and were desirable to be kept as companions by beings in the same alignments. However the natural animals don’t fit the standards of most these angelic and demonic beings so this group seeing a sales opportunity created these two animals.

It should be noted that these two are not completely defenseless; some variations exist with some combat ability, but seeing as they are more for decorative and not combat purposes these abilities are usually low. Normally the light dove can create a blinding flash of light and the shadow raven an aura of darkness with which it can escape, both of course evasion moves. In the relatively extreme end the Light Dove can shoot a weak laser from its beak or from the feathers on its wings and the Shadow Raven use dark energy to enhance peaks and scratches. Both relatively weak compared to normal versions of these same moves. In all these creatures can mostly just be seen flying about the palace gardens of their respective celestial or demonic owners.

Howl of the heavens

Chapter 9: three months later

Close Encounter

“This is just irritating”, exclaims Mike as he sits at the table talking with Jeff, “whets irritating?” asks Nick as he pours himself some cereal. “I have been here for months now” says Mike, “It never takes this long, Werewolves always slip up or are reckless in some way, but this creature changes its hunting pattern. For a little bit it attacks livestock then is only seen by hikers and back packers, then only sparsely by a few hunters. Its like it is choosing random spots or trying to avoid people but it always returns to good hunting grounds but seems to start avoiding one if it’s spotted.” “Sounds like its reasoning to me.” Says Nick, “but didn’t you already say before this wasn’t a normal werewolf you were hunting there?” “Yes” answers Mike, “but I didn’t expect anything this clever.”

Mike starts to say something else when the phone rings, Jeff picks up the receiver, “Hello, Jones’ residence.” He is answered by a voice that sounds familiar but Jeff can’t place where he knows that voice, the man on the line says, “yes is their a man by the name of Mike King their right now?” “Maybe” says Jeff, “His name is Mike but I don’t know his last name.” Nick thinks, “You have this guy living here and you don’t even know his name?” just as Jeff asks Mike “Is your last name King?” Mike chokes for a moment on the coffee he was drinking and answers back, “yes, but who are you talking to that both knows my last name and that I am here?” Jeff asks the man on the line, “Could you tell me who is calling please.” The man on the line answers back, “sorry but no I can’t. Tell him, the golden cross must be bared on the backs of those who defend it.” Jeff thinks that odd but says to Mike, “he says to tell you the golden cross must be bared on the backs of those who defend it.” Mike immediately gets up and takes the phone, he tells Jeff and Nick, “would you please both leave the room for a little bit this is private.” Jeff says, “Okay, come along Nick.” Nick hesitantly leaves whispering to his grandfather, “why do we have to leave your kitchen for him, just because there is apparently something going on doesn’t mean he should be able to bark orders.” Jeff tells him, “Now whoever that was on the phone somehow found him and is apparently someone important to Mike, that sounded like a code sentence or something like out of a spy movie so this is probably secret stuff going on, maybe even something that can help stop whatever is taking livestock.”

After a little while Mike calls Jeff and Nick back in and tells them, “That was my superiors; I will have to leave for awhile, I don’t know when I will be coming back but this might just be the break I was looking for.” How’s that?” asked Nick. “I guess I can tell that much. I am part of a certain group that hunts down evil, my superiors have more resources than I do and might have something I can use to help take out this werewolfish demon.” Mike got his things together and loaded up his pick up then drove away wondering what his superiors really wanted. He had been sending them reports on his activities maybe they knew something he didn’t about this case, something he was missing.

“Another footprint” says Samantha to her self. She looks up to the noon sun. It’s still cold out but it is warming up a little in the middle of the day. She has been researching every sighting and combining that with the legend. She believes she knows the basic area in which the den might be if there is one. She looks down at the giant paw print wishing she had some molding with her. She figured that the hunting was being done away from the den and the legend placed them on the opposite side of a certain mountain. Now with people avoiding that area and if a member of what ever species was involved in the legend was still here then that area would be her best guess as to what would likely be its home. For three months she had been trying to narrow it down. She had found many caves and cave systems far more than she expected. She figures from the bones and such she has found in the various caves that they have been used at some point but finding one that is occupied will not be easy.

As she is thinking about this she hears a low rumbling sound. Samantha follows the sound down from where she was looking. “That rumbling sound seems to be coming from below me some where further down the mountain.” She says to her self out loud. As she looks up she thinks, “Perhaps I should come back at night so I can get some better bearings on my exact location by the stars.” But she figures she can find her way back here. She had taken a lot of turns on game trails she could walk on through this rocky terrain but some of those near this cave network were very large so it shouldn’t be too hard to find later. She carefully approaches the sound which she guesses is snoring. She goes down a few steep rocks and suddenly slips and tumbles down a bit landing right in front of a large cave opening bigger than any of the other cave entrances.

The rumbling is very loud inside. She walks up slowly to the entrance but stays to the side as she looks in, prepared to run if necessary. Inside she sees something that gives her the shock of her life, a giant animal is inside much bigger than anything she expected. She steps inside, “it must be hibernating” she says to herself. The large grey canine like animal opens its eyes slightly and tilts its head in her direction. “Oh shit” she thinks to herself, however it then lowers its head and shifts its weight slightly but its eyes remain open a little. “Better not try and get any closer” she says out loud, the large animal huffs seemingly in response to what she said.

Samantha takes another step inside as her eyes adjust to the dark of the cave she realizes just how huge this animal is. She takes out her note pad and writes, “I have discovered what appears to be a new species of large carnivore. This specimen has shaggy grey fur, moderately sized legs for its body size which appears that if it stood up it might be about ten or eleven feet off the ground. Its body I estimate to be about fifteen feet in length with an unusually large head and long muzzle for its body which is perhaps five feet long in its self and a shorter than average neck length in relation to the body maybe only three feet.

She stops righting and looks at the animal again and writes, “It appears to have a very long tail, very unusual for large animals. The tail is curled up but appears to be at least as long as the body and head together.” She stops and looks at this large animal thinking, “This looks a lot like the creature in that legend but it doesn’t really look that much like a giant wolf, more of a fox really.” Her eyes open wide at this thought and excitedly she writes, “due to anatomical features I reason that this animal may be a species of fox, however this animal is much larger than any fox or any bear for that matter. In fact its sheer size would make it more than a match for an elephant.”

Samantha looks at this hibernating giant and realizes the amount of animals taken makes sense if this animal were involved but no one has yet to report something this big. She reasons to herself, “It’s possible even if someone saw something this big they might not report it as being this big because of how unbelievable it would be but this could definitely carry away a cow, so perhaps people are with holding all the details for fear of ridicule.”

She then notices something strange; its side is bulging around its midsection. Her eyes pop open wide and as she says aloud, “My god it looks to be pregnant.” The animal shifts it weight again but it definitely looks pregnant. She writes, “The specimen found is female and pregnant which may add to the amount of livestock taken as it needs to feed, however it appears to be unable to move as it has barely re-acted to my presence. It may be too tired, however many reported sightings were during the day and all sightings have been of an animal of a different color. It may be possible that like a common fox its mate or oldest young are helping it while it is pregnant.”

Samantha suddenly realizes that means at any time another one of these giants could show up that isn’t sleeping as she only sees one in the cave and the cave is large enough to support another animal of this size. She decides it is best to think about this all later from a much safer location, such as the lodge. She takes out her camera, “thankfully this kind of camera doesn’t need a flash” she says to her self, “ I would hate to see this thing if I woke it up from its nap” she snaps a few pictures of its head and body but she can’t back up enough with out getting a glare from the sun to get its whole body in the shot, “unless I walk over to its other side, but I would have to be stupid to try something like that, there is no way I am putting anything that big between me and an exit.” She thinks chuckling abit at the thought of actually attempting something like that.

She puts her notes back in her bag with her camera and heads back across the mountain taking special note of how to get back to the den. She didn’t realize until after she finally got out of the woods and into her truck by the side of the road and released a big breath that she had been breathing shallow the whole three hours it took her to walk out of the woods. She hadn’t realized how scared she had been. As she drove back to the Brooksville Lodge she couldn’t help but think the same thought she had had while walking back all that way to her truck, “the whole time on the way in and out of the forest and all that time I was looking for the den there may have been one or more of those giant predators like that one in the cave or some smaller young from earlier years wondering in those same woods with me.” “But now I’m safe,” she to herself in a mock calming tone, “even though something that big probably has little to fear from vehicles.” With a deep sigh and a shake of her head she continued on her way back to the lodge.

“Five deer not to bad for a midday snack” said Rhuen as he approached the cave. He walked in and sat the five deer down in front of Versa, who eagerly ate them up. Rhuen sniffed the air, “a human was here” he said, “yes” said Versa. “It was that Zoologist,” said Rhuen, “I believe she called her self Samantha.” “you know her?” asked Versa. “No, she was talking with some hunters I was spying on.” “Oh” said Versa with a yawn. “Did you see what she did while she was here” Rhuen asked. “Yes, she just wrote in a note pad, took some pictures; she was very quiet and stayed near the entrance.” Versa yawned then continued, “She was very sweet, she was afraid of disturbing my sleep.” With that Versa went back to sleep having finished off the deer. Rhuen headed back out “I will just have to grab some cattle and goats on the way back for easy prey because I need to deal with this first.” “Please do not hurt her” came a thought from Versa as he followed the human’s scent out of the forest. He followed her scent to the street; he would need to follow the road so he wrapped him self in shadows and changed into his human guise. Thus disguised he followed Samantha’s scent north.

In side the Brooksville lodge Samantha looks over her notes in the well lit lobby. She will have to show this to Mayor O’Brian but now it’s getting too late. She looks at her watch, it’s already ten pm and there are only a few night birds in the lobby. She thinks to herself about what she saw, “I still can’t believe something this big has been around and no one has discovered it.” “Until now anyway” she said out loud while thinking, “Of course its likely there are only a small number of them; maybe an endangered species. Makes since; I guess people come in and start wiping out prey species and a predator no one had ever seen suffers for it.”

She barely notices the stranger with the black trench coat walk into the lobby. “That’s odd” thinks Samantha, “If I didn’t know better I would say that guy was sniffing the air.” She shrugged her shoulders and went back to her notes and made sure to write down to have her film developed first thing tomorrow.

Rhuen has tracked Samantha’s scent to a hotel of sorts. He stands out side and reads the name, “Brooksville Lodge, I thought names like that only went to ski resorts.” Rhuen said to himself. He followed Samantha’s scent inside, she was sitting right in the lobby, but he paid her no never mind the lobby was too public and stealth was his objective this day. He followed her scent up to her room on the third floor. He checked the door knob, “unlocked?” he thought, “Very trusting, but I doubt she will leave it unlocked when she is actually in it.” Rhuen walked over to the window and looked out to the forest, “now I know which room she is in exactly.” He thought, he quickly left the room and closed the door. He walked back out the way he came, taking a quick turn into the nearby forest where he enveloped himself in shadows once more.

An Hour later Samantha looked at her watch and decided it was time to turn in. She headed up to her room, as she put in the key she realized she had left her room unlocked, “oops” she said to her self, “guess I left my door unlocked.” She checked around the room to make sure nothing was missing then put her camera down on the table next to her bed and stashed her notebook just under the bed as she felt more comfortable with it near her. She than undressed, turned out the light and went to sleep.

“One A.M., damn it, I am going to have to take out an entire farm to make up for lost time.” Rhuen thought. From the bushes a very small form emerged, a small black fox with dark blue eyes. This small form was none other than Rhuen him self. He scurried over to the wall and with ease scampered up the logs, bricks and mortar to Samantha’s window. His eyes glowed a light blue with focus as he willed the latch open. With a quick look to make sure the human woman was asleep he hopped into the room and changed into his human like form. He silently searched the room for a note pad and the camera. Near the sleeping form’s head lay the camera, but he couldn’t find the note book in any of the drawers of the room’s dresser, so he checked high and low around the room, finally finding it under the bed. “This must be all of it” thought Rhuen.

Rhuen looked down at Samantha’s sleeping form, “How easy it would be to end her life, yet it would only serve to attract more un-wanted attention and Versa asked that I not harm her, however there is one thing I can do to insure she doesn’t bother us again.” He thought to him self as he focused his mind into Samantha’s imposing his will upon her memories of that day altering the images of the paths she had taken and just how far it was to the cave. With out her photos, notes, or a clear memory she might just take long enough to re-find the cave as to no longer be a threat. With her camera and notes in hand he opened the window and leapt out into the woods where he hastily changed back into his fourteen foot form and incinerated the camera and notes in a flash of blue flames in the palm of his hand.

a group of altered humans

Chi-Humans
Origin: Chi, also known as Ki or mana is the life energy of the universe. The Ultimate level of martial arts focuses this power in such a way as to allow super human speed, agility, strength, and skill. Even going so far as to level walls with a single open palm blow or shoot off blasts of focused energy. However it takes at least forty years of constant intense training to reach this level, and those that do like sorcerers become detached from society and won’t use their power for any one. The Pacific Rim Mystical Society researched for centuries how to learn these skills quicker. During the two world wars they came into contact with other occult groups, and the combined efforts of the Nazis occult group and their own scientists made only a marginal gain by learning more of how the power flows in the body. Many years after WWII the Pacific Rim Mystical Society received the Magi-Human agent from the H.E.P. as a secret business expense, the Pacific Rim Mystical Society found that the agent in its raw form was just the stepping stone they needed to enhance a small formula they had made which was a combination of steroids and magic but was dangerous to the user. By enhancing their formula with a liquefied form of the agent they created the Chi-Human formula which unlocked the potential not only to use energy techniques but also made it easier to train soldiers and other individuals such as enforcers in the Yakuza to use advanced martial arts skills and become immensely strong but only show a small percentage of the same muscle mass that would normally be needed for such strength. However during early testing they had used the Magi-Human agent and numerous variations of it and the Chi-Human formula on hundreds of individuals who were released back into the population.

The Cohora Conflict: It was discovered that those who had taken the formula and all the variations of it were immune to the Cohora’s nano-bots, because of this the Asian Governments revealed its existence to the world, at the same time the western nations revealed the existence of the Magi-Human’s agent. Both substances were sprayed from airplanes over as much of the remaining civilian population that remained out side of the domes.

The Distant Future: the term Chi-Human no longer exists; Chi-Humans and Magi-Humans have interbred over so many generations that they are now commonly recognized as just being “Human”. It is common however that some may lean more one way or the other. Those that show a higher tendency towards the agility and skills of the chi-human become elite warriors and even adventurers.

a power

Name: Demon Wings/ Demonic Wings

Type: Physical (transformation)

Description: A D-class transformation ability, which can either alter existing mass or add mass from sub-space, or convert sorrounding mass, to name a few methods. The effect is the creation of physical ripped wings upon the user's back. For looks these can be small and none-functional, or large enough for gliding or limited flight. Only experienced or powerful/natural users can achieve the larger functional wings version.
(a special note) despite a simular aestetic effect this ability is not the same as "Demon's Flight".

Howl of the heavens

Chapter 10: same time period
The Order of the Knights of the Golden Cross

Far away in Italy in the small nation of the Vatican Mike takes a quick look around to make sure no one sees him in the dark of night as he heads into an anonymous alley. He walks down a flight of stairs and knocks on a common looking grey door with a small golden cross in the upper right corner with a halo and two golden wings on it. A small window slides open on the door, the figure inside hidden behind a mesh screen. A voice speaks from with in the door, “Where is the cross of the father carried?” to this Mike answers back, “The golden cross must be bared on the backs of those who defend it.” The screen slides shut and a brown robed figure opens the door, which leads into a dark hallway.

It has been awhile since the last time he was here but he remembers the way through the dark corridors to the council’s lobby where he has been summoned to. He opened the door and got a rather unexpected shock; where once their had been a dark dreary stone room with a pedestal and a single book keeper in a room filled with standing figures waiting to be summoned to the council their now was a brightly lit room, the book keeper was sitting behind a secretary’s desk with a flat screen computer and an intercom. The ceiling even had a fan and the figures waiting to be summoned with in were sitting down in cushioned chairs reading magazines, like this was a dentist’s office. Mike walked up to the record keeper, forgetting why he was there he said, “I know it has been along time since last I was here but this seems a little too relaxed wouldn’t you say” the robed figure looks up and says, “Mike? Mike King? Ahh it is you Brother Mike. Yes the last you were here was at least fifteen years ago, we changed the waiting room about five years ago, the council voted that we change the room since it resembled the tombs that so many demons call home, and that we as the guardians of light should not have to be completely immersed in the dark. It was depressing to say the least.” “Brother Keene is that you under that hood?” asked Mike, “why yes” said Brother Keene bringing his hood back, “I got this cushy job after breaking my leg in Brazil, you remember the bug hole? You were there chasing that Loup Garou that had joined the bugs.” “Yes of course.” said Mike, “I had thought you would have retired after that?” “Me retire? Not likely.” before they could continue a voice came over the intercom, “Brother Keene we are expecting brother Mike King some time with in the hour please send him in when he arrives please.” Brother Keene answered back, “Brother Mike is here now, I will send him in right away.” “Thank you’ came back the reply.

As Mike walked through the doors out of the well lit room and into another dark hallway he thought to himself, “they have cameras every where, they knew I was already in there, this must be important if they wanted to rush me in.” as Mike approached the head council’s office he was stopped by a gold robed figure, “an Inquisitor Summoner?” he thought with a bit of worry now entering his mind. “Come with me please Brother Mike.” The figure said in an oddly deep voice. Mike was led to a pair of double doors he recognized but had never gone through, “The inquisition room?” Mike asked the robed figure. Who simply pointed at the door and said, “They are waiting for you, you must go in now.” Mike took one gulp and headed in.

Inside Mike had expected perhaps one or two members of the council but here were all seven. Before him in the dark room above in their balcony sat seven robed figures the center one in red and the three on each side in black, all wore the white masks of an inquisition. Mike knew about this sort of questioning but it was only done for traitors and those who had screwed up big time. The center figure spoke first, “Brother Mike King of the Order of the Knights of the Golden Cross. You stand before us now to answer a few questions for us.” “And to explain your un-authorized actions” added the robed figure to his left. The central figure put up his hand silencing his fellow council member, and added, “Brother Mike, according to your reports you went to a town in northern California called PineRidge, correct?”
“Yes” said Mike, “would you please tell us why you went there with out being assigned by this council first?” “I had received a message from my ex-partner and tutor Brother Rick that a local was concerned about a potential were-wolf problem so I went to investigate to see if there was a problem.” Said Mike in his defense. The robed figure to the head council member’s right handed the central figure a folder. The figure in red then asked, “Have you met father Henry Jones yet?” “Who” asked Mike, “I have met a Jeff Jones and a Nick Jones.” The head figure looked in the file and said, “The son and grandson of father Henry Jones.” Mike had no response to this so the head council member continued, “Well outside of PineRidge there is a Church over looking the local trading post, there had you looked you would have met Father Henry Jones, he is a member of our order and has been keeping an eye on this same creature you claim you went to investigate in your report.” Mike baffled says, “I was never told their was already a member of the order there, I simply went to investigate because as I said my old partner Rick informed me about a man named Jeff Jones who was concerned about a werewolf he sighted.” The head council member looks through the file and states, “Well brother Mike the mission we assigned Father Henry Jones was to keep an eye on a very powerful creature called Versa.” “The wolf goddess from the legend?” Mike asks the council. The council members whispered some things amongst them selves and said to Mike, “We will assume you learned this from the locals as it is a common enough legend there; however there is something in your reports that un-nerves us, please tell us about this black were-wolf demon as you call it.” Mike thought, “As I call it?” then he answered, “shortly after I arrived a second creature that the locals had no legends of appeared, I currently believe it to be linked with this Versa in some way, it has demonstrated intelligence, and unusual strength, and has mystical abilities and an immunity to the control of the sacred golden crosses. I have spotted it on one occasion and it has been abducting livestock at an alarming pace.” Before he could continue the Head council member raises his hand for Mike to stop, the other council members seem un-nerved as they are whispering to each other, Mike swears he can hear them raising their voices and hear, “are you sure?”, “what if it is him, is ancient even amongst the Dire”

Mike thinks, “Dire? Do they know about these things? what I am dealing with out there?” Just as the council members calm down and are about to address him another robed figure enters the balcony from a door and whispers something to the council, Mike can only hear a little of it from the brown robed figure who rushed in; he heard only one word clearly, “Litmet” and the councils members all got up in a rush, and as they were heading out the door the red robed figure turned to Mike, “A more pressing matter has come to our attention, if you still wish to pursue this case then we recommend that you go and see Father Henry Jones if you return to Pine Ridge, and that you do not attempt to confront Versa or what may be Rhuen, you are out of your league on this one.” With that he rushed out of the chamber. Mike thought, “I guess I got off free what ever this “Litmet” or what ever that guy said it is must be more important than interrogating me. Now I know about this Versa, but what is Rune, I never heard of that, if that’s the black werewolf creature then there should be more information in the data bases.”

Mike has been sitting in the library for weeks, Brother Keene walked into the library to find Mike once again looking in the archives, “Oh Brother Mike are you still here? I had thought you would have headed back to the United States by now.” Mike says, “Come for more cat demon and vampire documents?” “Yes” answers Brother Keene, “well” says Mike “I have found about ten cat demons that go by the name Rune and about fifty vampires going by that name.” “Rune?” asks Brother Keene “isn’t that just the Norse alphabet.” Mike looks up and says, “That was the first article, after that, magic stones, any number of spells, and numerous trolls and demons, but not what I am looking for.” “Sorry I can’t help you there.” says Brother Keene, “they got me looking up data and they won’t even tell me what it’s for, something about saving the world or something.” “its always about saving the world, as is our duty, but I wish they would tell us what is going on sometimes, like with this Rune I am starting to think it’s a secret and they slipped up even saying the name to me.” Brother Keene shrugged his shoulders and carried out a small pile of books while Mike continued looking through the books thinking, “Rune the ruthless: vampire, Rune the mighty: Troll, nothing on a giant black wolf named Rune, it must be a secret.”

Fancy machines

The Kah-Rah-Kuh-Tah line
These three vehicle types are the things of legend for many of the younger races. Vehicles used by the Warrior Race in all its variations. Every type of family in the warrior race has been known to use some variation of this vehicle, although only the first three models were given the Kah-Rah-Kuh-Tah name as it means “war fighter” and the last two versions listed were significantly powerful models so as to be more capable than just “fighters”. That is fighters by the warrior race’s standards (more on that for each vehicle).

Despite their variations all the models share a few things in common; one is a central red crystal like module that is the actual vehicle. This module does vary from model to model from a basic crystal matrix to a sub-space environment but the operating system inside the “true core” is always the same, its just they chose to keep the exterior looking the same. The second is that the exterior is made out of organic material from an unknown black plant believed to be from the home world of the warrior race, and altered for use in many of their weapons and technology (which leads to many questions about it that we won’t go into here). These ships because of this tend to have a very “evil” look to them; the capabilities of this armor vary of design as well from a steady shell to energy shifting.

Despite their legendary status amongst the younger races as weapons of total destruction and capabilities these actually aren’t the most powerful weapons the warrior race made, but were common enough that left over ships from “the age of war” can be found, and given their design to regenerate rather than fossilize they can remain running even after millions of years of not operating. Of course only one attempt to tame such a ship by a none Warrior Race, race is known and it ended with the destruction of three race’s home worlds and the loss of countless live, this was the infamous Riffy-An incident.

Interdimensional empires

Mechanation

The Earth the Mechanation originated from is unknown, but assumed to be under their control. They behave much like assimilators and seek out new worlds in their own universe and others to advance. However they not only seek to assimilate but unlike other assimilators they admire diversity and individual power (using up-grades as a way to insure loyalty in their minions rather than total mind control). They believe that this emotion is key to becoming the ultimate power and view other assimilators as inferior for seeking uniformity. However unlike all the others this may be due to not just being technological but also magical (a combination of machine technology and demon magic).

Howl of the heaven

Chapter 11: four months later
The Birth of the Twins

Deep in the forests outside of PineRidge Samantha sits down on a rock exhausted after several hours of searching for the den she had found before. She can’t understand why she can’t find it again. “If only I still had that camera, DAMMIT!” she cried out loud to her self. She thought back to her talk with Sheriff Peter Jones, He had said their was no sign of forced entry, and no one could have entered from up that wall at least with out leaving some marks on it. “Useless Sheriff” thought Samantha, “oh you must have dropped it in the woods.” She finished sarcastically trying to mock the Sheriff’s tough guy voice. Samantha looked up, it was getting dark; she would have to head back to her truck if she wanted to get out of the forest before night fall.

She walked out of the woods trying to remember the path she used to find that den and got a shiver up her spine thinking about that giant animal or more like it walking in the same woods with her. “Get a grip girl.” She thought. As she got in her truck she couldn’t help but try to think of why the sightings had gone down, the only reason she could think of was maybe they had moved further away after their den was found. “Maybe more sightings will start soon, after all it is summer now and if I was right about that animal being pregnant, and if it’s anything like other carnivores, and perhaps animals of that size, she should be giving birth during the spring months or now at the very latest.” With that hopeful thought in mind she headed back down the road to the Brooksville Lodge.

Over in Italy in the library of the Order of the Knights of the Golden Cross Mike King the werewolf hunter has searched the vast archives of his order for the last four months searching every reference to “Rune” that the order has to provide and he has found out many things except what he is looking for. “Damn it” exclaims Mike as he puts down the last book containing any reference to the word “Rune”. “Six Hundred books, hundreds of vampires, hundreds of demons, only about fifty werewolves, and more spells than I even thought existed and many pointless references to the Norse alphabet, but nothing like what I have found, and four months have passed.”

Mike got up and walked out of the library. Mike walked out to the empty waiting room, “Strange” thinks Mike as he looks at his watch, “Its five in the afternoon this place is usually packed and where is Brother Keene the record keeper’s desk is unattended.” His thoughts are cut short by Brother Keene running past him with the head council member, Mike calls out to them, “What’s going on?” the head council member whispers something to Brother Keene who runs on down the hall, The head council member stops and turns to Mike, “I would have thought you would have left for the states weeks ago, have you found what you are looking for?” Mike thinks, “Something is up or perhaps the head council member forgot why I was here, doesn’t matter I need to get back to the states I have been gone too long now.” “I have found enough.” He tells the head council member, “That is good, I would like to speak more on this matter with you in the future but for now there is something I need to attend to, if you have any more questions then seek out Father Henry Jones in PineRidge when you return there.” With that the red robed head council member rushed down the hall after Brother Keene. Mike walked out into the dimming light of the Vatican and looked to the sky and thought, “too long, this has gone on too long, no matter what they say or think I will kill BOTH of those demons, they must think I am too old for this but I will show them that I am still able to slay even the strongest of werewolves.”

The night air of the Rocky Mountains is broken by a wolf like howl that startles the people in the outskirts of PineRidge and the old man inside the church looks out his window and says, “The angel sings this night.” Versa howls once more as she rolls onto her side. Rhuen rushes to her side leaving in his wake a decimated forest floor, “Its time” Versa growls as Rhuen approaches. She rises on all fours over shadowing Rhuen in his biped form. She lowers her self to a laying position like some giant divine beast statue and raises her great tail scraping the ceiling of the cave. She bares her teeth and with a great rumble and with mighty steaming breaths she pushes.

Rhuen can only stand in awe at this sight which the world only sees once in a great while, new life; new immortal life is once more entering this world. Versa’s vaginal opening spreads wide with her effort as a strange pink orb comes from her, with gushes of steaming fluids which evaporate upon contact with the ground the orb escapes her body with one last mighty push and breath that releases a spray of blue fire from her mouth scorching the wall before her. With the orb freed from her body she automatically reverts to her biped form and gasps for breath and with one last heavy breath she stands tall and with her mate Rhuen at her side they walk over to the smooth oval orb. They watch in anticipation as a blue light pulsates from with in, growing bigger and bigger and faster and faster the light pulsates. Rhuen places his arm around Versa as he helps her to sit before the egg as she is still exhausted from the ordeal, a mighty blue stream of fire escapes the egg, and too Rhuen and Versa’s amazement a second flame. From this hole in the egg two black cubs as large as two week old tiger cubs crawl out from the egg, one little solid black male and a little female all black with a spot of white fur on her chest.

Versa picks up her young and holds them to her breasts for their first taste of milk which they eagerly suckle. With her babies sitting on her crossed arms feeding Versa rises to her feet with a little help from Rhuen and together they walk back further into the cave and up the steep passage to the smaller nursery which has all the furnishings of animal skins and various plant material Rhuen had gathered while searching for food over the last nine months. Versa sat down crossed legs letting her young finish their meal while Rhuen examined the smaller intermediate cave with the smaller bed the young would stay in when they got a little older and the very small entrance to this nursery chamber. Versa sat down her sleeping cubs (who nodded off right after finishing their meal) onto the plant material where they curled up together, gave a little yawn and went back to sleep. Rhuen sat down across from Versa. Facing each other with both of them sitting with their legs crossed with the young in-between them; they lowered their heads down touching noses, closed their eyes and started to hum and share thoughts, “Names, Names, mighty goddess of names we beseech you to give us the names by which our children shall keep until the end of time and beyond to the next universe and the next for all eternity.” An answer came to them, Versa leaned down to her daughter and projected the thought into her daughter’s infant mind, “name: Riska, rhiss-kuh” Rhuen leaned down to his son and projected into his son’s mind, “name: Rish, Rish” with that they went to sleep.

A few days later, Rhuen is out hunting, the young ones Riska and Rish have already opened their eyes and their front paws have morphed to resemble hands for the time being in this stage of growth. Rhuen has just slaughtered a deer and is carrying it back with a live squirrel trapped in a bag he is carrying, “a deer for dinner,” he thinks, “and a squirrel for the little ones to practice hunting, we may live forever but I had nearly forgotten how fast we grow up, but this squirrel should be good practice for this morning’s meal.” His thoughts are interrupted by Versa’s anger and the image of a black winged monster, Rhuen rushes to the plateau out side the cave entrance to the scene of Versa strangling a gargoyle.

A quick scan tells Rhuen that the young ones are still sleeping and un-harmed. Rhuen stopped and leaned against a tree as he watched his mate scold this beast and he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself when she gave it the old line about dire wolves that their kind tell lower beasts to stop their curiosity on the subject. Then watched as she tore its wing off and sent it flying with a kick in the direction its mind was practically screaming to escape to and she crawled into the cave to check on the young ones. Rhuen walked up to Versa as she came back out of the den and nuzzled her and asked, “so what was with the stone demon?”, “nothing much, that freak was looking for a free meal and was looking well out side of its territory, seeing as I never saw it nor even smelled it before now.” “Interesting” said Rhuen, “a free meal? Such a creature like that has an excellent sense of smell, so it should have had a ruff idea of what was in our den if only in an animal type since. And it didn’t look lame, not until after you got to it my dear.” The last bit he said while rubbing muzzles with Versa who smiled in response as he continued, “So it should have been able to get any animal as a free meal from where ever it came from.” “Actually,” Versa stated matter of factly, “I could only smell the flesh of young primitives in its gut, and it claimed it had come for wolf cubs, it shouldn’t be back.” She held up its wing and continued, “I will see what I can do with this.” With the wing in hand she sat down in front of the cave examining it, Rhuen put down the deer carcass and handed Versa the bag with the squirrel in it, “this is a little practice toy for Riska and Rish when they wake up but in the mean time I want to see just exactly where that gargoyle went and make sure it doesn’t pose any future threat.” With that he leapt into the forest following the gargoyle’s scent.

Rhuen watched from afar as the gargoyle carried its self back to its cave Rhuen, “I’ve counted hundreds of rabbits on the night air and just as many deer and other easy prey even in this things injured state it could easily catch and eat any of these animals yet it traveled more than a hundred miles?” as he watched it enter its cave he continued his thought, “one hundred plus miles just to get ripped up.” With that he chuckled to him self internally. Rhuen walked up in front of the cave for an instant but vanished into the darkness as the gargoyle turned its head in his direction. Above the cave he thought to himself, “doesn’t look like much of a threat and in just a few weeks my children shall be too strong for even this brute to handle. Just one more thing.” With that he chanted away his scent from the area calling the shadows to swallow it and leapt into the night to head back to his mate and children.

The Onyx Gargoyle Rawl walked slowly to the front of his cave and took a sniff, “nothing, I could have sworn I saw one of those “Dire” things, I must be going crazy, what the hell kind of creature was that? “ Damn it” he exclaimed has he toppled over from pain in his cave, “I don’t care how long it takes but I will have my revenge you damned Dire even if it takes a hundred years I will get stronger and I will kill you.”

a race from the Other World

Aku-Ma
Description: The Aku-ma have a limited ability to hide their appearance, but only enough to make one think they were a fictional dark elf or something. They have grey skin with pointed ears (only slightly longer than human norm) they have long and very solid and sharp finger nails (still look like fingernails though). Their most distinguishing features are their eyes and hair. Their eyes are pitch black like a large solid pupil except where the pupil should be is a pin point sized glowing ball of red, giving the appearance of burning orbs in darkness. Their hair can shift between being jet black to taking on the appearance of blue flames in the same shape as their hair, as in a short haired Aku-ma would have short flames and one with hair down his back would have flames down his back. The flames do not burn the Aku-ma or anything they are wearing.

Origin: The Aku-ma are humans given dark powers by the shadow god Rho-Sho. He created the first of them in Japan shortly after Rhuen created the Toori-ma. This timing though could simply have been coincidence though as Rho-Sho created the Aku-ma to fight against the Dah-Hoth who had broken into that reality and were merging together to form ever more powerful Dah-Hoth, the Dah-Hoth had found a loop hole in the spirit barrier around Japan which keeps out powerful supernatural beings, the sent in many small weak forms of themselves which re-merged together. But in doing so created many slightly weaker than the one big one that tried to exist though with various personalities (a fact of Dah-Hoth physiology the one big one was unaware of, that each cell has its own mind and collectively are different as they go up in strength.) Rho-Sho himself was un-able to go through the barrier but could pull human souls into his realm and grant them power to fight the many Dah-Hoth warlords going around passing themselves off as Demon Lords. In this way the secret Demon War of Japan’s Feudal age began.

Current Status and Future: The Aku-ma are immortal and have earned a noble status along side the Hinlen and Alp in Other World in the lands of Higher Law and Lower Law. Unlike the Toori-Ma the Aku-ma can reproduce. Rho-Sho was out to make an army to fight the Dah-Hoth not punish them so them being able to have descendents worked in his favor. He also creates new Aku-ma when ever he finds someone with potential who wants to protect people from the Dah-Hoth.

a plant from Other World

Name: Fire Tree

Type: elemental tree

Habitat: The Red Mountain of the five mountains region, a land of red rocks where most everything is on fire all the time and intense heat rules the rocky land scape.

Description: Has the shape of a deciduous tree except that in place of leaves it has flames. Most of these flames near the top are like normal fire burning upwards. But some behave against gravity or side ways like blowtorch bursts. Some of the fire is rounded like balls of fire, some believe this to be the fruit. The exact nature of the tree is unknown as no samples have ever been brought to a lab (the trees tendency to explode when cut down being just one of many reasons for this). The bark on the tree tends to glow red just like the rocks around it, but the slight blinking nature of this glow reveals that the tree is actually grey in color.

History/Abilities: Is a fairly common tree in the Red Mountain region of the Five Mountains region. Its description about sums up all its abilities, fire leaves, fire fruit, fire hot glowing bark, and it explodes when cut down.

Howl of the Heavens

Chapter 12: Six days later

The Priest

Paul Jones looks out the front of the gas station to a very familiar green truck turning onto the dirt road that leads to Pine Ridge, “Damn, that Mike guy is back.” exclaimed Paul, to the surprise of Nick Jones, his nephew who was busy sweeping up the lobby. Nick looks up to see the rear of the truck as it disappears behind the trees. “What is wrong with Mr. King being around here Uncle Paul?” asked Nick, “Well” said Paul, “I really don’t wanna get in it with ya Nick, but that guy there, he just bugs me.” “Oh” said Nick with a roll of his eyes.

Mike stopped out side of Jeff Jones’ house and was greeted at the door by Mr. Jones, “Ah welcome back my friend.” Said Mr. Jones happily, “So” he continued, “I probably shouldn’t ask why you left, but is there any good news?” “Not really” replied Mike, “But I do want to ask you about someone.” “Who?” “a Mr. Henry Jones” answered Mike, “That’s my father.” Stated Jeff a little confused, “He’s a priest at that old church out side of town near the paved road. Crazy old man, made up all sorts of stories and told them to my sons, even tried to convince me of them, he even lives up there at the church.” “Well, can you tell me how to get up there, I have something I need to talk to him about.” “Guess dad wasn’t lying” thought Jeff as he answered Mike, “well you just take the road back up the way to the trading post but on your left there will be a dirt path with a cross next to it, your truck should be able to make it up that path.” At that Mike said his good byes and thanks to Jeff and headed out to meet the priest he had been told about by none other than the council of the Knights of the Golden Cross it’s self.

A half hour later Mike stops out side the old church, the building is two stories tall with an old dark brown wood side and stain glass windows. There was only the front entrance, and the solid sides, he imagines there was likely a second back door and probably the town’s cemetery behind the church. He had to park to the side near the trees as the front porch was mere feet from the edge of the hill which had clearly been dug away to accompany the increased size of the trading post as was evident by the loose rock being held against the steep hill side by fencing. Mike walked up to the church and was startled by a voice coming from an upstairs window. “come on in Brother Mike I have been expecting you for some time, the stairs are to your right upon entering the front door, please hurry up I don’t much like screaming out the window, I am simply to old and don’t have the lung capacity anymore.” Mike noted a slight laugh at the end and thought, “this must be Father Henry Jones.”

Mike proceeded inside and up the old creaky stairs noting that the church didn’t seem to have been cleaned in a very long time. Which came a sharp contrast to the very clean second floor which seemed to have been designed as a home with bedrooms and even a bathroom which he passed by. At the end of the hall stood a robed monk like figure; the figure turned to Mike and said, “ Welcome I am father Henry Jones of the Order of the Knights of the Golden Cross, please come inside my room Brother Mike King of our order we have much to discuss.”

Mike followed Henry into the small room which had only one simple bed, a three windows, one looking out towards the woods, one towards the gas station and a third one that looked to the other ledge across the road. Mike noted he had a standing telescope at each window and the most unusual object for this simple room, a laptop computer. Henry sat down on a chair at the desk the laptop was sitting on and said, “Please take a seat Brother Mike.” Mike pulled up the only other chair in the room which was little more than a wicker stool supported by some wood boards. As Mike sat down Father Henry began to speak, “I had expected you sooner, that is until I received an e-mail from the council just a few weeks ago explaining the situation to me, it seems you were apparently un-aware there was already a member of the order watching Versa.” “So you know the situation then?” asked Mike, “I was born in this town,” Henry said as if he hadn’t heard Mike, “I heard the legend and stories, one day I was out hunting in the forest and saw the grey haired woman change, that same day I saw her kill another were-wolf, I believe it is called a skin walker, I still do not know if she is a threat to the people here, but I do know she is capable of it, so after I took my place as my father did before me as a member for the order I decided to be a watcher and the council accepted my proposal for watching this creature seeing as it matches the description of something they have been keeping there eyes on.” Father Henry stopped to catch his breath, at which point Mike interjected, “I knew nothing about anyone being here, I was called by my old partner and teacher Brother Rick. He told me a local had seen this Versa change shape, I am after all one of the most accomplished were-wolf hunters so I thought nothing of being called in to deal with this monster.” Henry continued, “Ah Rick, the guy who came around here claiming to be a big foot researcher, of course I knew who he really was, the cross with the halo and golden wings that we all wear is a dead give away.” Father Henry indicated the cross on the collar of his robe and the one on Mike’s collar before he continued, “My son Jeff the one you met, he knows all this, of course he claims not to believe but he knows better, after all I am teaching his son, my grandson Peter to be a member of our order. My son he actually convinced that Rick guy to call in someone to “deal” with Versa.” Mike noted that Father Henry made the quotation marks sign with his hands as he said “deal”.

Mike stood up and walked over to one of the telescopes and said, “So I take it you have been watching everything through here instead of going out in the field?” Father Henry replied, “I am an old man” with that he stood up and walked over to the far telescope and peaked through it before continuing, “I am 78 years old, far to old to go chasing monsters especially since they are stronger than young men, and I wouldn’t dream of chasing Versa, especially not after what the order told me.” Henry walked back over to his chair and sat down with a groan. “The order told you what?” asked Mike. Father Henry looked at Mike with a confused glare, “The order has a name for them, funny thing is after that they started to call themselves by that name making up some strange story about Dire wolves, but we know better, not that we really know where they came from.” Mike asked, “What name?” “Oh sorry” replied Father Henry, “The Dire, a fitting name for something so powerful, did you know not once have we ever been able to kill one. Every time we try they just slaughter our people, or worse turn them into monsters with there dark magic.”

“what?” stated Mike in shock, “I have never heard about these “Dire” I will admit my confrontation with that black one did tell me it wasn’t your run of the mill were-wolf; but every thing has a weakness, or maybe there just strong and more perseverance and strategy is needed.” Father Henry just shook his head and said in a somber tone, “To be young again, although I would think you were right maybe we are just afraid of them, but then again nothing seems to affect them, not that it matters its not like there is only one Dire here anyway.” With a deep sigh he continued, “Rhuen is here, the most dangerous Dire according to the records, I almost had a heart attack when I saw him arrive at the trading post and then leave with Versa. You see I had had an encounter with him once before during the war, World War Two that is, I had been drafted into the army, and a secret group with in the U.S. government asked me to look into something as I was one of the few Order members that hadn’t been found and captured by Mussolini or the Nazis, they had me go after the NeunToter. The Nazis had awoken and convinced it to help them somehow. Count Fontaine was his name, Rhuen was somehow mixed up in it,”

Father Henry stopped and a shiver ran down his spine as if remembering something horrible, “anyway he is here now and apparently knows Versa so it would be best to leave them alone. I would think after all Versa has yet after all these centuries to attack a human and has never caused any trouble.” “and how long will that last?” interjected Mike, “this “Rune” has been attacking livestock and whose to say it wont go after people or if this isn’t the beginning of something big? And another thing you don’t seem to be too secretive about this “Rune” creature, I wasn’t able to find anything on it in the archives yet the order knows about it obviously; so why isn’t it in the archives?” Father Henry gave him a questioning look, “Well how your pronouncing it is off. Are you sure you looked up the right spelling.” Mike a bit confounded asked “Its Rune isn’t it? I found many were-wolves, vampires, and other demons and many spells but not this Dire thing.” Father Henry said, “Its Rhuen not Rune, you must have been spelling it R.U. N. E. the archives have it spelled R.H.U.E.N. it’s pronounced a little funny like trying to say rune and hewn at the same time.” “Oh” said Mike obviously a little embarrassed and confused, “I just wasted a lot of time when I should have just come back here, how was I suppose to know that. There wasn’t even anyone around the whole time I was there.” “Oh that,” stated Father Henry with a concerned tone, “I got an e-mail about that, apparently there is something causing all sorts of chaos in the Middle East right now, but that’s for the Elite Paladins to deal with, not you or me. Now Brother Mike if you really want to make a difference then follow me.”

Father Henry led Mike down the stairs and around behind the stairs there was a second set of stairs that led into the basement of the church. In the corner of the basement Father Henry pushed a panel on the wall which flipped the wall around to reveal an arsenal of weapons and a trunk came out of the floor through a trap door. Mike could only stare at the weapons, two sacred Pistols, a sacred silver sword, a golem slayer, and several others.

Father Henry grabbed the Golem Slayer from the wall and handed it to Mike. Mike examined it, a tan brown Obelisk on a stone handle with Hebrew letters on each side of the Obelisk with a color at the base of each. Father Henry said, “150 miles to the south in a cave out side of the town of Big Bear there is an Onyx Gargoyle. By the time I learned of its existence I was already far too old to deal with it and my grandson is still far too in-experienced. You on the other hand may be able to, granted you can read Hebrew. You can read Hebrew can’t you?” “Yes, and I suppose the colors tell me more than these spells written on each side of it?” “Yes the red indicates the destroyer spell, the blue the basic attack spell, the white the stun spell, and the green the anti-enchant spell. The Obelisk was designed for any type of rock demon, so will you help me and all those people who lose there pets to that monster?” Mike answers while holding the Golem Slayer, “yes, but one question… pets?” Father Henry with a smirk replied, “Yes that vial monster seems to have an appetite for cats and dogs.” “That demon will perish then I will take care of these Dire monsters.” Mike thinks to himself while holding the sword. Father and Mike headed back up to the first floor where they finished with the details to the onyx gargoyle’s location before Mike headed on his way.

Unknown to both Mike and Father Henry something was listening to them from out back in the cemetery, the shadowed figure of Rhuen in his full fourteen foot form was leaning against the wall of the church with his arms crossed tapping his claws on his upper arms, he scoffs and thinks to himself, “These humans are more foolish than I thought. These order fools never win and always persist, such annoying little pests. This Mike thinks he can win against me, he will hunt that pathetic gargoyle slay it then come looking for me. He begins to test my patience; perhaps we shall have some fun little hunter.” Rhuen released a light jackal like laughing bark and vanished only to reappear floating above the roof. Floating atop the roof he watched as Mike drove off in his truck. Rhuen thought to himself, “Little Human go and slay that beast of stone; then we shall have our fun.” Rhuen flew straight up into the air and vanished.

Cosmic Forces
Beings of incredible power beyond the level of most beings, these are seldom seen and appear mostly as distant back ground characters. Each of these beings could be described as a god, from beings of immense knowledge to powers of the universe. (think like the gods from Record of Lodoss War: mentioned but never really seen)

Name: The Omnipotence

Race: Abstract concept

Gender: N.A.

Description: a concept that the universe its self may be a sentient being. The description varies by culture, but the general consensus amongst higher beings is that it IS the universe it’s self.

Origin: a debatable subject. The basic idea is that when the universe was born it was also born an all aware being of omnipotent power. The truth this might be, but can never be known.

Weapons

Name: Rho-Sho Shadow Sword

Type: Sword

Description: A large broad sword “giant even” that is shadowy black, even the handle is shadow black, it has no guard between the handle and massive blade. The tip of the sword indents on both sides as two half circle breaks, the final tip then has a roughly triangular appearance. Hard to see is that the center of the half circles there is a break in the blade of the sword as the tip disconnects from the rest of blade during some of its attacks.

Origin: The first of these swords was held by Rho-Sho who is thus credited with their invention. Later others would learn the dark art of creating these shadowy blades. Very few can hold them and use them, thanks to a curse that comes with all shadow weapons in that they drain the life of mortals who hold them and the size and intense strength of the attacks of this sword mean instance death for any mortal that holds it. And due to the size and nature of this weapon even very few of those who can hold one use one, plus adding that few who can make them would want to wield one or know someone who would causes these to be extremely rare weapons. In fact only two warriors are noted as using such a sword on a regular basis, Rho-Sho and the Paladin of Darkness.

Attacks:
The Sword is noted for draining life energy in large amounts from mortals who try to use it. As well as enhancing shadow, demonic, and darkness type attacks. It only comes with three attacks of its own, with the third being able to be enhanced for a fourth move.

1: Darkness Slash: The sword is surrounded by a dark aura and this dark energy adds to its power.

2: Chain Strike: the Sword’s hidden ability, the head of the head disconnects and fires forward to stab the target, its connected to the rest of the sword by a shadow energy chain.

3: Dark Crystal Strike: It’s the Chain strike except its enhanced with enough power to go through the target, on the other side the blade is surrounded by a large shadow energy crystal in a triangular blade shape (with the two bottom edges curving downwards as wicked looking hooks) it retracts slicing the target in two.

4: Dark Crystal Combo: combines the Dark Crystal Strike with the Darkness Slash, after slicing the target if the user has enough strength and speed, after the recoil if they swing the sword at the target an arc of dark energy with come off the blade to obliterate the target.

Howl of the Heavens

Chapter 13: the next day
Science steps in

“Excuse me?” asked Mayor O’Brian, addressing Samantha York who sat across from him in his office. “Its true” said Samantha, “I have personally seen this animal sleeping in her den, and in my expert opinion she looked to be pregnant, which could mean there are more out there perhaps a younger one taking food for the mother to be, or even a father around.” “I am not doubting you Dr. York, but its description in the report you gave my office you said and I quote, it appears to be forty feet in length including the tail.”

Sheriff Peter Jones looked un-easy as he stood in the corner listening to Samantha describe in detail her finding of the den and her description of its size, what disturbed Peter the most was her describing her sample takings of feces she found at the base of a cliff, and even fur samples from attack locations. Peter thought uneasily, “Grandpa needs to know about this and the order will not be happy if scientists come in.” Samantha’s next words confirmed Peter’s fears. Samantha told the Mayor, “Skepticism is reasonable after all I wouldn’t believe it had I not seen it, however it seems to me that given its size and the fact it has yet to be recorded as a species tells me that it most likely is low in numbers, or in other words very likely to be an endangered species, which means it will be protected so I am sorry about your livestock but the attacks have declined recently and until a few months ago the only report of this kind of animal was a legend so after I am able to confirm its existence a team will come in to assess the danger to local livestock and people and to of course study these animals.”

Mayor O’Brian leaned back in his chair; he knew better than to argue when it came to the environment especially with elections coming up in a few months. Memories of that red wood logging situation coming to mind; Mayor O’Brian crossed his arms over his girth and said, “Okay we won’t send anyone out to deal with this animal but I hope your right because endangered or not ranchers have the right to defend their livestock. Is there anything else you would like before heading back to San Diego?” “Yes, If there are any more sightings I would appreciate if you faxed my offices with the details thank you.” Mayor O’Brian quikly asked, “You wouldn’t happen to remember how to reach that den would you? So we can send someone to confirm your reports.” “Sorry, I don’t know how, but I wasn’t able to find it again; when I can get a team here I will make sure to bring an animal tracker. I just wanted to stop by and tell you what I have learned so far, I am currently heading back to San Diego now.” They shook hands as Samantha left the office. Mayor O’Brian turned to Sheriff Peter saying, “Damned tree huggers they would have wolves and deer run rampant in the streets.” Peter agreed and left after Samantha just in time to see her drive away. “There she goes.” Said Peter with a scowl. “This is not good.” He thought, “I have to go tell grandpa about this now.” He got in his police truck and headed down the road.

“And what do I owe this visit Peter, my boy?” asked Father Henry. “We have a problem.” said Peter, “a scientist has taken an interest in the Dire on this mountain. She has samples of their fur and crap and she has gone to a lab with them, she will bring more scientists, the order can’t be kept a secret if the very monsters we hunt are thought of as animals to the public at large.” “Who is this scientist?” “Her name is Dr. Samantha York.” replied Peter. “Hmm; no not a member of the order that I know, so a scientist then huh? She won’t find anything the Dire are fallen angels not animals she will find nothing.” “Fallen Angels!?” said Peter Angrily, “Nothing in the order says they are fallen angels, they are big monsters nothing else, evil animals that’s what they are, angels don’t eat, shit, or shed and people have lost livestock, eaten! Dr. Samantha York has gotten fur samples and even found a feces pit just like the one Brother Tim found in Wales when he was looking into the mutant foxes incident and encountered that female Dire Morta. She will prove they exist! Modern scientific techniques are far more advanced then when you were in the field. We have to tell the order so they can send someone in to discredit her or steal the samples. I mean you must have already known about this, or someone in the order had to have known. She came in, awhile back saying someone stole her camera which she used to take pictures of Versa. Who she claims is pregnant of all things.”

Father Henry with a wave of his hand as if to calm Peter replied, “I am telling you the order has better things to take care of then this, although if this Dire does have children I should make sure to tell them so we can at least have them on record.” “What could the order possibly have to take care of that is so important as to ignore a situation that could expose the existence of one of the most dangerous monsters that we know of. A monster that if the scientists start searching for will impede the order’s efforts to do the same, and maybe even risk exposure while doing so?” Father Henry clearly annoyed at this point replied, “Anyway I doubt these Dire would even let themselves be found out, I trust the samples will give them nothing. As for the Order right now the higher ups are concerned with something in the Middle East. Some creature has been spreading evil and chaos out there so any thing here will have to be dealt with by those of us here already.” “What evil could out weigh possible exposure, two Dire who seem to date back a lot older than most the others ever found and the possibility of children, which I feel I should remind you we don’t know how big there litters are. So tell me what is so damned important that the order wont even spare anyone to help out here?!” Father Henry simply said, “I asked them the same thing myself, trust me I am on your side about this. But they said its best that if you don’t know about it already then you shouldn’t get involved, it’s safer that way. But like I keep telling you my boy; don’t worry they won’t find anything from those samples.” Peter got up and left after that saying, “Grandpa despite what you may think those creatures are flesh and blood and they will find something.”

an alien race

Ooskar:
Description: They are bipeds, their feet have two stiff brownish tan hoof like toes. They are roughly six to eight feet tall. They have four arms, all muscular, and their hands have three digits (two fingers and a thumb) which end in stiff brownish tan large claws. The head of an Ooskar is the most alien feature to them in relation to humans, their head is mostly muzzle. They have almost no forehead and wouldn’t appear to have a very large brain case, giving them a somewhat canine like appearance. The muzzle is very fat with large nostrils “no little nose on the end, just large nostrils” and ridges along the top side of the nose trailing behind the nostrils and ending below the smallish eyes. They have small pointed ears just behind the eyes. This all together gives their heads a naked mole rat like appearance. On top of all these features they have even have orange skin, typically a light orange color but can be darker.

History: The Ooskar are one of the races that were around at the time when the Creators were on the way out and the warrior race was taking their place. The Ooskar raced against other races at this time to find Creator technology. The Ooskar however were not comprised of a single government but rather two (comparable in policies towards each other of the USA and the Soviet Union during the cold war). These two rival factions didn’t take into account other races from the same level of the Creators (some of whom like the Suihrai the Ooskar mistook for being Creators or members of the warrior race) would arrive and take much of the working creator technology and destroy it or hand it over to the Warrior Race. This was due to a policy that leaving this technology behind was irresponsible of the Creators and just by existing would alter the natural development of civilizations. The Ooskar tried to fight the Suihrai as well as other races from this level that arrived such as the Kuhrai, Rai, and Kik, who also rounded up Creator technology. This lead to a rumour that the Creators who ascended may have been destroyed, a rumour facilitated by the fact that many of these other races seemed capable of turning into energy at will and back again (something the Creators couldn’t do for when they became physical again after ascending they were stuck unless they spent days meditating).

The Ooskar never did learn if there was any truth behind this rumour as the two governments of the Ooskar wiped each other out, and the remaining factions turned pirate. Most of the pirate Ooskar were destroyed by the higher races as well as the races from their own level such as the Gurfar, Ohroarnium, Qwie, and Grunaga, who thanks to remaining as massive empires with vast resources were more than a match for the much more limited pirate guilds of the Ooskar. In the end the Ooskar died out, the last of them were not hunted down as some may speculate, but rather the last of them grew tired of piracy and took to living in their ships; which due to a lack of breeding partners they just died out. However there has been an attempt by the Zorat (a Qwie sub-species) to bring them back from extinction (as they believe it was partially their fault for hunting down Ooskar pirate ships with a no prisoners approach that lead to their extinction.) The Zorat governments claims they had no idea they kept entire families onboard the pirate ships, a claim that is doubtful as this was well known to other races (who just didn’t care) with a policy that if they really cared about their families they would settle down somewhere and not raise them to be pirates as well. The Zorat has created clones of the Ooskar and reintroduced them to their old homeworld (which was cleared of its ruins). They are just now starting to explore space.

Book Series Influence: They only have minor mentions in history logs from the other races. They are cited as an example of a worse case scenario for interspecies violence, and what could happen if an entire people’s turned pirate.

The 2nd evolution of the Ooskar however plays a new role when they and the humans who venture out into space meet each other. Bringing the new Ooskar as a similar stage of development race back into the galactic picture. By this time the races from their original time in space have advanced to a point that they deal mostly with the races that were above them, and have taken to not interfering with the lower races, the Ooskar included.

seeing as I missed a day there I will add this

a monster (that's right not an animal but an actual monster)

Species: Desontra

Type: Reptile Sea Serpent

Diet: “unknown” has been seen to eat travelers and warriors, but its environment lacks sufficient food for a creature of its size. Due to its unique nature it is believed to absorb spiritual energy from the astral plane rather than requiring real food.

Habitat: Inhabits the sea sphere; a sphere of water about half the size of the earth with a special energy core and various floating habitats. Like the Astral sea this place also has floating mobile islands, however its can be differentiated because unlike the Twilight Isles these islands are in normal light rather than twilight. Desontra has only been spotted near these surface islands so it seems to be guarding them for some reason.

Physical description: The only part of Desontra ever documented is its head. The body is estimated to be between 150-1,000 feet long depending on who describes it, exaggeration is a factor. The head is at least 50 feet long and roughly resembles that of a Nile crocodile. The eyes are more slanted and glow red. The nostrils bellow out smoke when ever it is at the surface. The teeth are jagged and triangular silver metal blades. On the end of its nose it has a similar shark fin shaped silver metal blade. The tongue is forked and can extend far out of the mouth operating much like a prehensile limb. Behind the eyes near the back of the head it has two goat like horns, however they are relatively short and only curve slightly like a juvenile male goat. On the underside of its head directly below the base of the jaw it has two tusks, these tusks are silver and quickly from the base thin out into blades that curve upwards at their tips, the curve tip on each blade is also serrated with three points with the outer most point being the longest.

Name Origin: The name comes from the Aesperia ancient language. “De” Large, “so” scary, (the n is added when this word is not the last part of the word) like for instance the much smaller yet clearly related sea serpent “Deso” would be Large/Scary. So in this case since Tra is added at the end the N is included after “so”. The “tra” means “dragon”
Basically its name was invented by the first person to see it who escaped it and described it as De…so…tra. But as a proper name it comes into writing as “Desontra”

History & Abilities : Due to its environment and behavior its believed to be artificial and guards something that is or was in the floating islands of the sea sphere. Little else can be known except that there is only one of them.

Its attacks are: Tongue Stabbing: its forked tongue shoots out and stabs.

Laser Horn: a yellow laser shoots off the nose horn.

Tusk Lightning: blue electric bolts fire off the tusks

Bite: more like it engulfs the target

Laser eyes: shoots lasers out of its eyes

Fire Breath: a mighty blast of fire from its mouth

Smoke nostril: bellows out a blast of black smoke from its nostrils
