Remember the short story in which Rhulan slew Lucifer from the tv show "Supernatural". Remeber the weapon she used to do it, the Thousand Year Sword?
well here is how that weapon is created. I am thinking of writing a short story series on just how she made this weapon in the first place.
Name: The Thousand Year Sword
Type: Weapon (Sword)
Sigil: Decagram
Ingredients:
*subset*
Items needed to perform the fusion (in a timely manner)
Six Supreme Soul Crystals
-note a soul crystal captures part or all of the essence of a material or creature, the weaker more common ones only collect part of the essence. What is needed here is not one but a total of six of the Supreme Soul Crystals, incredibly rare and hard items to make themselves, it may require plunges the labyrinths of demon lords or conquering the likes of Lich Kings to acquire these items that they use to harvest large amounts of essence energy.
*and the crystals aren’t even ingredients, they are just needed to collect some ingredients.
A time dilation chamber: the actual ritual once set in motion takes one thousand years to produce the sword (hence the name). So unless one has a thousand years, or is an immortal or a family that will see it through and is making the weapon to aid some prophetic hero in a time of need a thousand years in the future, it would be best to have the ritual done in a space whose relative time is much faster; but a thousand years is a thousand years so even a day a second will take a while to complete. Not to mention that the energies involved inside the chamber for the ritual mean that the Time Dilation Chamber needed must be a very powerful one able to handle the forces, of which only seven locations will work.
1: The God’s Training Hall (located on Thanotos, a small dark moon living world in the Mystic Zone system).
2: The Workshop of Oblivion (located in the far northern regions of Aesperia, where the North Pole would be if this world weren’t flat), the location jumps every three years from the west side of the world to the east side of the world.
3: Temple of Chrona (located on Aesperia, belongs to a very protective lineage of Aesperians who were contacted by Chrona the Goddess of time as soon as they arrived. This family possesses time distortion powers themselves so forcing one’s way past them is pretty much impossible no matter how strong one is).
4: The Time Distortion Chamber of the Society of Sorcery (yeah…located in the Society of Sorcery for experimenting with long ritual artifact production, the Society its self is located outside of the known multi-verse and nearly impossible to find unless they find you).
5: Temple of Agratha/Folded Space Zone (in Reality-H, a space ship graveyard due to distorted time in what appears to be the remains of a planet ripped apart that somehow the chunks don’t float away, or come back together, and somehow there is a breathable atmosphere around the chunks and the temperature is a constant 76 degrees F. Spaceships entering the equivalent of an Earth sized planet’s magnetosphere find the ship’s power jumping all over the place, and rooms on the ship somehow magically changing places every time a door is opened. Until the ship starts to come apart and whole floor and rooms start to drift as though they were their own chunks. There is also very low gravity and one can jump/float between the pieces; which just further confuses the science based people of this universe.
The actual chamber is at the center, from the outside it has a red glow, go inside and one finds a Greek looking temple to an entity called Agratha. Looking back out and they see a red space with different floating rocks *enter from Reality-H and exit into the Red Netherworld*, the temple in the Red Netherworld moves around, even teleporting at random, so it’s easier to find from the Reality-H side where the Federation of World or FOW has it clearly marked so ships can avoid the area. So those in the know (namely magical beings) can take advantage of this, given a (Return from the Lower planes) spell will take them back home from the Red Netherworld. )
6: Temple of Gohrak (located at the center of the Sea Sphere, a water sphere world with floating islands in the Makai Cluster of Other World. The water pressure becomes intense but not as much as physics say it should be given the magical nature of what is holding this world together in the first place. There are other dangers, the local wild life, and the guardian beast Desontra, a huge sea serpent dragon with powerful attacks).
7: The Palace of The Goddesses (it can be located in the Netherworld, Hell, and Nirvana, it’s a trans-dimensional palace in which one enters one door, but three exists exist back into those three universes. The Palace is guarded by insanely powerful demons, gods, angels, and other evil and good aligned uber beings that really shouldn’t be fighting together against intruders. Basically one should never come here uninvited as the goddesses supersede good and evil and this is meant to be an audience chamber. In here though one will find five rooms that qualify as the place to perform the ritual as a year inside any one of them is one second outside the room, granted when one exits the room to prevent overlap paradox the exit door goes to another part of the palace, at random, many doors are like this and nothing really marks these rooms as special unless one takes a time distortion detector with them; there are other rooms with the opposite effect as well among other things.
-and remember those seven places are just locations where one can perform the ritual without it taking the spell caster one thousand years of their own life, also to prevent outside forces from interfering. Stopping the ritual early will free six of the ingredients onto one’s own location fully powered, but stopping it halfway or most of the way may set off an explosion that can shatter a planet and distort space *The Temple of Agratha was likely on a planet in Reality-H before such an event happened*.
But most of those locations can handle and divert that force, but it shouldn’t be necessary.
Now we come to the actual ingredients,
First there are ten ingredients in all, first the four “easiest” ones.
1: A liter of blood from an Ancient Dragon
2: A drop of blood from a Dark God/Goddess
3: A strand of hair from Chaos, or a child of Chaos
4: Sword of the Dark Master (which is created via alchemy by combining an Erebus Sword with a Thanotos blade), this will act as the base for the sword.
(now 5-10) are what you need the Six Supreme Soul Crystals for. As now one needs six full life essences of six Eldritch Horrors, the strength of them adds together to equal the power of the sword’s core. The crystals are infamous for when they capture the life essence of a defeated enemy what is inside resembles that enemy and thinks it is them (hence “Soul” crystal). So one must fight and kill six Eldritch Horrors and capture their life essences in those six separate supreme soul crystals (which are needed to hold such a powerful life essence).
-Keeping in mind that these kinds of creatures are usually “Last Boss” material for a reason.
Description: Its appearance is that of a Katana with a dark black hilt, the blade looks more like a black hole in the shape of a katana blade in the air, only defining its self as physically there by the red haunting aura around the blade, sometimes sparks of various colors can be seen. The Blade is dangerous, holding the hilt alone is impossible without protecting one’s hand with Shadow Cloth (not listed as an ingredient but still a good idea), otherwise it harms the wielder, curses, being possessed by rage until the blade is dropped, or one of the eldritch horrors in the blade sneaking into one’s own body and taking control.
This blade has a few other side effects, if unsheathed (making a sheath for this thing is a whole other endeavor in and of its self), in a fragile universe it can cause serious damage to space and time around it. It also can distort reality and the weather and such in hardier universes. The blade has such a strong presence to it that it attracts the attention of higher order cosmic forces, after all it is six Eldritch Horrors pressed together, just one of those things alone often requires cosmic forces to act. But it’s a great sword for fighting forces far more dangerous than Eldritch Horrors, or taking down other Eldritch Horrors and similar forces.
