I'll post some of my old works here, one at a time. This one's called "Eternity"

The hourglass has fallen
The grainy contents spiled
The gentle breeze transformed into a gust
And so the sands of time
Are scattered to the winds
Now nothing more than ordinary dust

Well, glad to see the positive response! This one's called "Golem", and has never been unveiled anywhere else.

Give me no heed
For I have no soul
Give me no love
For I am just a black hole
I care not bout your sorrows
I am the source of your grief
None have been bettered by me
My collapse brings relief
I have no purpose
I have no soul
I cannot love
My heart is a black hole
I bring only sorrow
I bring only grief
When my fate is sealed
That will bring many relief

Thanks for your comments, everyone! I made some revisions and additions to Eternity, so I'll post the new one now.

The hourglass has fallen
Its grainy contents spilled
The gentle breeze transformed into a gust
So thus the sands of time
Are scattered to the winds
And nothing more than ordinary dust
I walk along a path
I see that hourglass
I wonder, when, why, and how'd it break
I pick up a few shards
Observe their grains of sand
Pocket them, and walk along my way.

Wonderful poems.
This is my favorite of what you have posted thus far.
I would really love to see some more of your poetry.

Due to popular demand (and random inspiration), I have another poem for you guys to purview. It doesn't have a title yet.

I walked along the path she chose
I endured the pain she liked
I even took the killing blow
Because it was her "right"
But when I felt that sharp wound
When my blood flowed fast and free
I realized this was not my path
I was no longer me

EDIT: I have decided to title this one Mother.

I'm glad to see you're back to writing, been feeling this last poem very much as of late. Ultimately it is for the better. Good work here.

Thanks. I only post when I get enough of a response, and when I get ideas. You can help half the equation.

Soon enough, my friends. I still need to be bitch-slapped by inspiration, and that hasn't happened just yet. Sorry.

It's been awhile, but inspiration finally stomped on my balls, and here's the result. I call it Funeral

With a love as fierce as Pygmalion's for his statue
With the persistence of a cricket's song
A child ran off to war for glory
It's such a pity that he's gone.
Raucous parades abound on the streets
But in this house, there is no room for cheer
The memories linger on, there is no reprieve
And thus we are trapped in the trouble of why we came here
A child ran off to war for glory, however, all he got
Was a gunshot to the head, and three bullets to the heart
O spiteful Fates, you damn us so!
Go torment someone else!
Do you not have other boys to slay?
In your defense, is there anything to say?
Or was he really the one to blame,
Or was it really just because you were depraved?

NICE, Alaras. I'm subscribing here, too.. your work is so beautifully intricate -- yet it manages to evoke universal feelings that anyone can understand. :)
