Most vampire myths come to us from the Dark Ages, when science was in its infancy and people looked to religion or superstition to explain the world around them. While many vampire myths have their basis in Christian orthodoxy, others represent imaginative interpretations of actual vampire behavior.

    Quote

Vampires are killed by driving a stake through their heart
    Source: Christian religion.
Fact: because their blood is circulated by skeletal muscles, vampires can easily survive injuries to the heart.

Sorry.... anything that get stabbed through the heart with a stake dies! From the mouth of a vampire

I believe that anything that requires blood can be killed by a stab into the heart from loss of blood. Unless there is immediate medical help. How would a vamp get that.

im more curious as to what makes this person belive they have the authority to say these things are "myths" when there is no solid evidence to support the existance of vampires. Sanguarians - yes Vampires - no.

Ah, the Internet. It brings us into contact with so many people, of such diverse backgrounds, and shows us incontrevertible proof that idiocy is rampant in the world.
And then, we can post links to our friends, and we can either laugh at the stupid or we can shake our heads in sympathy, whichever we prefer.

Really, when will we run out of sources that claim to have the true straight truth about vampires and swear that all other sources are bogus?

Vampirism has a strange origin that can't be exactly traced through time.

There is a clinically proven disorder known as Renfield's Syndrome, in which the sufferer lives in the delusion that they are a vampire and need blood. Take for example the most famous case of this disorder, Fritz Haarmann aka the Hanover Vampire

Being deluded into thinking you need blood, and actually needing blood and/or having bloodlust are two considerably different things.

i never said that there are actually people that need blood. I have just said that there are people that think they do, or just fancy the taste of it and drink it recreationally.

:coffeepaper: Dam come try to kill me i'll show you my bloodlust exists. You try to shoot me i hide in dark you walk pass i sneak behind and stab you in the eye followed by slashing your nech from ear to ear. Then I'll commence in my ritual of disgrace which is to pour your blood i gathered over my naked body asap after i strip naked. Arrrgh my bloodlust does exist but only if you attack me. :P

:coffeepaper: Yep my bloodlust fits that discription well. I must be a vampire :P

    See how easy felonies are?

    Oh, and banning offences, too.

Dammim, you need to play nice. The Internet is not anonymous, and it is not safe and secretive. Have some manners, and do not threaten people with gruesome death.

Oh, and I think you meant to quote Devolved, not Longdead.
