is there a great deal of similarites between big foot and the abominable snowman's appearance (aside from their fur color) or is it just me?

Also how far back does the legend of each TRULY go? Is it something that started with the newer generation around the 50's or does it go back much much further?

They are the same creature. The earliest report of such a creature that I am aware of is 1811 in Canada.

They are diffrent breeds basicly.

Bigfoot, aka a Sasquatch, lives in northern areas. Ussally in woods or forests.

Abominable Snowman, aka a Yeti, lives in higher climates. Usally snowy mountain ranges.

Native Chinese and Native American art work pre-date that.

something to look up: Giganto Pithicus: the Yeti has a fossil record that supports it somewhat as being something at the least with in human memory.

Interesting. I was not aware they predated 1811. Thank you for the information Rhuen. I shall indeed look it up.
