Be careful when submitting your work to publishers. If they ask for a fee to read your work, you really need to leave them alone (talking from experiance here). Take a look at THIS before submitting your work. It has a synopsis of most of the publishers out there and is a pretty nice guide. Many authors/potential authors refer to this site before submitting something.

On a bit of a side note as a writer I have to stress the importance of copyright before sending your material to anyone.

What is copyright

US Copyright office

and

Writers Guild of America

Those are the USA ones. Each country has there own offices.

I cannot stress this enough.

It's easier than ever to self publish. CreateSpace.com gives great pricing even for small runs and manages your Amazon.com inventory.

I'm a publisher but I still use that for my first few press runs so I can catch typos in a handful of copies rather than thousands!

Most recently, I published a vampire thriller called "This. A Vampire Cure for Forever." Check it out at ThisVampire.com

Also check out CreateSpace.com. They will print your book for fantastic prices and even supply an ISBN (if you don't already own some).

That's where I just printed my latest vampire thriller while I wait for demand to build when I'll order larger quantities from a local printer. Check it out at ThisVampire.com.

CreateSpace also has some marketing programs, which I haven't used, and I'm not sure they're the best though the services I've used from them are excellent.

This is a novel that I inspired the writer, R.W. Wells to write....
The Gift / The Curse is a novel that is told in the words of me...Marcusio. I am a man first and foremost, that happens to be an immortal. I was sired by Lorean, a vampire whose only desire is to be able to have me, no matter what the cost. I struggled with my immortality, craving death until I met the one woman who will hold my heart for all of time. Because of my oath to a brotherhood of the secret society known as the Anuket, a society pledged to protect mortals from the vampires, I cannot reveal my true nature to her without putting her into mortal danger as well as my own. Immortality comes with a price. Will my immortality be his gift or curse?

It is published by Createspace, a sub company of Amazon. It is available in paperback and Kindle versions.

Happy reading!
Marcusio

A few writers I know have used http://www.authonomy.com/ to produce their novels. Perhaps it might helps others here as well. You can have people read parts of or your complete manuscript and they can back it up, write comments, and literary agents and publishers do go to this site to look for books. It doesn't hurt to try it.
