I liked 11 eyes until it did that dark everyone dies kind of ending, I have an adversion to those endings ever since Chrono Crusade deviated from the manga and did that psychotic slaughter and downer ending.

Which is why I loved the ending for (Modern Mage) it seemed like it was going to end dark with one of the main characters killed and her past life self, The Sorceress taking control of her body intending to cause death and destruction for the betrayal she was given in her life time *her powers had been sealed and she burned at the stake* so she came back in the next life and the next and the next like a reoccuring boss in a series intent to cause the destruction of the world.

but in this series, her current body was the first to have a friend, who fought for her. The other good guys were trying to make a portal that would seal her up forever in another dimension, which would also seal up the current life host. But her friend saved her and the sorceress was actually touched by this and said she would go back into the depths of the mind; however if her current form is ever killed (instead of living a full life) she would return to destroy the world. (the host has to be killed for her to take over)

But on the subject at hand

my favorite anime series are

Slayers

Ranma 1/2

Tenchi Muyo (OVA series)

and

Louie the Rune Soldier (I really wish they made more of this one)

I can also give shout outs too

Outlaw Star

Cowboy Bebop

Trigun

Kiddy Grade

Inuyasha

Bleach (some of it, hate most the fillers)

Onepiece (be prepared for an insanely long series if you try to catch up on this one)

and anime movies:

Vampire Hunter D

Vampire Hunder D: Bloodlust

Howl's Moving Castle

Nausicca and the Valley of the Wind

Spirited Away

The Cat Returns

(the Slayers movies; love the dynamic between Naga and Lina, wish Naga could be in the series as herself: Her younger sister Amelia is in the series, and Naga sort of appeared in Slayers Evolution-R as Nami a suit of armor that was possessed by Naga's spirit and had amnesia *maybe*)

Sorry, "Modern Mage" should be "Modern Magic" as the title of the show.

Le Chevalier D'eon is my favorite anime of all time. Murder, magic, politics, and STUNNING animation from the same studio that did the animation for Ghost In The Shell, all set in the beautifully portrayed pre-revolutionary France!

Yeah... I kinda like this series a little bit a lot.

I'm thinking about checking out some of the newer Digimon series
(I gave up on the shows with Series 4 which back peddled and went all super sentai)

but after seeing this clip I saw from a series called Xros Wars
I am thinking the show has evolved in an interesting direction

I was kind of in to Blood +. I liked the start of it, combining the Lovey Dovey with the seriousness but then I lost it more towards the end when the all too boring heartbreaking love thing became the focus. But I did like the end of 11 eyes, they twisted the caracters view of reality, With the episode where Kakeru being bound to Misuzu, but then that just being a vision. I haven't seen the OVA but what I could understand they didn't really die, just that they where separated into different dimensions right?

They died, in the end there was a cop out where the last two survivors ended up in a reality where the others had counter parts but it wasn't really them. Each had a fragment of the stone and each came from a seperate universe as each stone piece had been sent into a different universe.

they tried the whole twist that the bad guys are the good guys, but those black knights enjoyed killing those kids too much; and never once even explained that the witch was pulling them towards her and their powers came from cursed stones that were physically inside their bodies; meaning the option to remove them surgically with out killing the kids did exist. Plus any "we are the real good guys" was completly lost when one of the knights killed an innocent bystander (the female doctor at the school) just to piss off the pyrokinetic kid.

The one I saw was 12 episodes long (with a 13th joke episode set in a different reality that was apparently an eroge anime version...the humor felt flat given how dark the main series ended and all, but I didn't get the feeling this 13th AKA special episode was made at the same time as the 12 others so not meant to have been watched right after it).

I didn't know it had two versions (OVA and Series), El-Hazard I knew did.

I recommend the OVA ElHazard, much better than the series.

While I prefer the OVA of Tenchi Muyo, the alt-verse series "Tenchi UNiverse" is pretty good and fans tend to equally love both.

*however I can't say the same for any other alt-verse Tenchi, each one moved further and further away from the original till it was just faces and not the characters anymore.

(Note: the two series: GXP, and Seikishi Monogatori, are in the same continuity as the Tenchi Muyo OVA: Also Kajishimi Masaki urges that the GXP Manga is more in continuity than the anime *the only difference is the Manga (which came later) downplayed and removed any serious use of the character "NB" (that robot); which was really a robot version of Nabishin, the persona of the director of the anime who puts himself in the anime adaptations of everything he directs, or almost everything.

The Slayers OVA is kind of Unique (in that it is in the continuity of the show: prequals to the show).

I agree Blood+ was good, I felt it got a bit convoluted with the whole vampire history and biology and such; plus the whole awake for a few years and then sleep for thirty doesn't pan out when you do the math that Saiya and Diva were only 200 years old.
Still a million times better than the Live Movie (someone needs to try again, because Blood the Last Vampire was/is on my list of anime that can be adapted successfully into live action; just need someone who isn't going to half-ass it and change the base premise or add an annoying human-bridge character..I'll stop there as I have a long list of things wrong in that movie from adaption too just general story telling, character, plot, ect... reasons.

For me it's a toss-up between Beebop and GitS:SAC (both gigs). I haven't watched the reboot of Evangelion yet, but the original was my favourite as a young tween/teen.

Just finished watching Omamori Himari.. hehe xD. Well not really that good, it was like a ecchi, more unserious version of Bleach.
Starting to watch Darker than black now, seems to pretty good, I like the whole wall, government conspiracy thing that they put in there. Don't spoil anything though :)

I have always wanted to see this, but wasn't really sure what it was.

I love Hellsing.. it's just awesome, and the OVA's are just as great. Not just the animation, but the voices, the stories. I love it. Blood + was awesome, but I have to say, Elfen Lied is one of the best as well...

and on the cute side, Fruits Basket!

Trinity Blood was good, up until the last story arc (I wont spoil anything but its another case of the animators going off the original script to create a wrap up for the animated series)

I like the first half of Chrono Crusade (until they go off the Manga and it starts being darker than I wanted to see for these characters
Spoiler

Deadman's Wonderland was great, shame it doesn't really end (Manga went on Hiatus and there isn't enough material to make a whole season for anime, It seems this contract is one of the "do not make up your own ending" that is becoming popular now a days; Manga writers and their fans over there have been getting sick of anime going off script. Hence shows like Bleach now (after the Bount arc) admit to these being none-cannon filler arcs.

I loved Keikeishi, it does the whole first arc of the Manga; wish it would be re-newed and continue the story.
Spoiler

I'd like to splice the cannon parts of Full Metal Alchemist and Brotherhood to get the full Manga story.

Some new ones I have gotten into

Psychic Squad

Himawari
(a fun story about a ninja girl that we know was in a mysterious tube that some men tried to blow up *first episode* but she doesn't know that; and wants to become a Ninja)

It's a crack series about this 10 year old M.I.T. graduate girl who teaches homeroom at a japanese high school. It's sorta in the same vein as Azumanga Daioh, but with more crack.

I was enjoying 11 eyes...epic love scenes and then( like the asians always do), throw in a few other bustier broads as obstacles to test the relationship. I got irratated and shut the shit off. Can't a girl dream? :boobs:
