What do you mean "magical entities"? Like Tulpas?

Magickal entities like egregores are able to "think" where thoughtforms (tulpas) cannot. Egregores are fed by various methods to keep them charged. Egregores can be given a shape and appearance as well.

cool. I've heard you could make something that fed off of your energy or ambient energy, and could think (to a degree. Kind of like a droid off of Star Wars. No idea how to do it. They did it by basically making up a spirit, writing a contract with it, and giving it powers in the contract. That might just be a tulpa though.

The magickian uses his Will and focus. This is why meditation is so important; the magickian must be able to focus his mind, to Will his ideas into existence.

The great thing about egregores is that you program them to do what you want and you can kind of forget about them except for feeding them.

Those can also come out of your control if not done right, the line between those and a Tulpa is thin, razor's edge thin.

Personally I'd rather figure out how to create a functioning Humunculas or Golem; but then you have a physical creature on your hands; but at least then you don't have to worry about it going ghost and psyche attacking when/if it goes rogue.

I have been looking into golem creation, not easy nor by any means safe. But I figure so long as its not something large it shouldn't be a major danger...the least danger being creating a possessed doll that has to be locked in a cage with a seal forever until some dumb person at some point in the future buys it and takes the seal off letting it loose in their home...second thought a very small clay figure I could lock into a sealed block of concrete and chuck off a boat if it goes out of control could be better.

Of course such negative thoughts are the reason why I don't try creating things that require your own energy, a golem just uses raw magic as its power source and no part of you is required to activate it (that also makes them hard to control very quickly if you arn't good at control spells).

There are always risks with magick but the benefits outweigh the risks; it's important one be of sound mind though. We have to live in this world, too. :)

Naturally, its not a good idea/irresponsible to create "toys" that only you can control and are themselves nearly unkillable and have no concerns beyond their base programming, yet due to their ethereal nature can outlive you and your influence.

That is where monsters come from, those invisible horrors that stalk the Earth whose means of being harmed and controlled vary depending on culture, because its that culture and their creator that designed their weaknesses and strengths.

the biggest secret of sorcery, demons of hell that stalk the Earth, the inhuman hauntings, most of these were made by people, both unintentionally, and...intentionally as curses. Would be gods creating monsters that have faded since their conceptions yet never forgotten. waxing and waneing as they find energy to feed themselves and try and regain their former glory and fulfill their purpose, their programming as curses, tests, and guardians of long lost forgotten treasures and places.

The book above tells you how to control the egregore so the thing doesn't become a god.

You are right, many gods and "monsters" were created by the human imagination.

Awww. I wanted to make a "Chucky" Golem.
Definatly not. But a servent, maybe a guard, would be good.
