These are made from found deer leg bones. I used the technique of "scrimshaw." Scrimshaw is not exactly easy. You incsribe your design with a nonpower tool. Then you ink it and wipe the ink off, leaving your design to show. You do this over and over, inscribe, ink and wipe off. Attaching the crystals was a bit tricky. All-in-all, quite a learning curve. Thank goodness I can draw!

The script is for wands and staffs and is from the Grimorium Verum. The script is similar to one found the Goetia but not exactly the same.

Wands are used like athames, for summoning or for directing power, depending on the hand they are held in. The quartz crystal is for directing power.

Wands and staves made from wood tie the magickian closer to the earth ("the Great Tree of the Earth"). Bone and metal wands have been found in ancient graves however.

Although a Wiccan could use a bone wand (intent is really what counts), a bone wand is more likely to be used by a necromancer.

The two wands above have been made for necromancers.

I prefer a staff. Not sure how to alter my basic one, though. I'm thinking of adding an amethyst if I can get it. And some rose quartz.

If it is wood and you want to add the stones to the tip, you can drill a hole and use super glue. There is an interesting book I have: Wandlore by Alferian Gwydion MacLir. The book is also available in Kindle.

I was thinking of hanging gems from necklaces from the top of it. If I can get a large, clear enough piece of Quartz, I might do it your way, though. I don't want to add anything artificial, though. just natural items and refined metals.
