Loved it, and I know it'll probably bring the trolls out on both sides, but I just had to share it anyway. If any of these facts are incorrect, feel free to point them out.

Love it, history lesson and moral lesson.
Bottom line, who cares what its really about, its a time of year we've dedicated to what ever is currently culturally relevant and used it as an excuse to be nice, give gifts, get together with family, and force joy upon ourselves, and stress, in what would otherwise be a very dark, cold, and depressing time of the year.

I'm out of like points, but otherwise +1 to Rhuen. I wish people could see through the rhetoric and see Christmas for a holiday to celebrate our families and the people we love.

We lost that meaning for what seems like aeons ago. Nevertheless, it's a fine opportunity to enjoy some time off with the family, though once my mom isn't around to make a big deal out of it, I don't think I would mind working instead, and I certainly wouldn't mind the payment either.

On the other hand, when Rome adopted the pagan practises into a new tradition they were kind enough to change the name of the holiday.
