For anyone unfamiliar with Salo - 120 days of sodoma, it's an old Italian movie based on Marquis De Sades book. In it, four men, accompanied by four old prostitutes, and a bunch of guards (fuckers) and maids kidnaps a group of children during WW2 and keeps them in an old mansion, sexually abusing and finally killing them. The movie was banned for a while, even though the children had been made into teens there.

Anyway. There's a performance theatre setting up Salo in Copenhagen...and it would be cool to go. I could probably make the Circle of Tears, but I'm not sure how I'd feel. As far as I can tell you'll be able to be in the story, and participate as a guest of the feast, and walk around among the actors. Minus having sex with them.
Would you go?

Bah. I cannot express my intense dislike of Marquis de Sade enough. The term "sadism" is derived from his name! He sexually abused women and children in his real life, these weren't completely works of fiction. He abused and drugged women, and imprisoned one woman who fortunately escaped through a window on the second story.
I would not support anything this man had anything to do with.

I left a pretty scathing review of the movie here on this site awhile back. Still, I can appreciate -some- of the philosophy of de Sade as I think I point out in the other review. Having seen the movie, I wouldn't be at all interested in seeing the performance. I might feel differently if I had read the story instead.

The perv in me would like to see the first part...I don't know if I'd feel comfortable, but I do admit I'm intensely curious. I don't want to be anywhere near the current shows, the scat part, it's just disgusting and icky. The circle of blood maybe...but there's so much death.
I want to and I don't want to. But I'm mostly curious about the first part, unfortunately they're not playing it anymore. It's the only part of the movie I could watch without turning away or turning off too. I haven't looked for the book, and I'm not sure I will. I doubt I'll be able to finish it.
But the concept...to be able to participate in a performance, I like that idea. It appeals to the larper in me.

Hmm, I'm currently considering grabbing a few friends and go, but I doubt I'll have the cash for it though. It sounds like it would be quite the entertaining experience that'll surely push all the wrong buttons. Besides, a little sense of disgust never hurt anyone.
Too bad I missed the Circle of Shit, as weird as it may sound, I would've loved to see that one. I've been dying to try something mindblowing lately and this seems like a pretty unique experience (At least, I've never heard of anything like it).
Ooooh..The Circle of Blood sounds pretty intriguing too.
I hope I can at least make that one :o

I've seen the film and still have it on my hardrive somewhere. It was just weird really.. I've seen far more hardcore pornography even just in terms of actual idealogical content.
Scat really makes my bile rise... I watched the film assuming it would test the limits of acceptability but really it was just more surreal than anything with very little in the way of anything erotic or even sexual. Sodomy occurred but often in a very un-erotic context with some truly grotesque actors.
