I've been reading through some posts and replies on this section of the forum, and it's astonishing to me how many reply as having negative experiences or beliefs about supernatural things, like seances, ghosts, ouija boards, the shadow folk, etc.
Well, I would like to believe that there's more good than bad in people, and I think the same rules apply to any other part of existence. I want to hear more about your positive supernatural experiences.
Tell me about ghosts that would help you on your math homework. Tell me about the brownies/pixies who would clean your house. Tell me about the spirit guides who would lead your way home when you were lost.

http://forum.darkness.com/public/style_emoticons/darkness/coffeepaper.gif too you you think too much on suffering. I like your happy go lucky be helpful attitude. I'm naturally a negative person even though I feign positiveness. thing is my true philosophy is simply this: Good and Evil need each other. There is no healing without suffering. So when everything goes to hell it reminds me that there is a paradise as well in metaphorical terms.
in other words when you have lemons make lemonade.

I find the concept of death very calming.
No matter if you are rich or poor, famous or nobody, you will die.
If you are a warrior going into battle (in the military), you could die at any time.
Even if you are a mundane office worker, you could walk across the street and get hit by a car, and die.
Every day you could die. There are so many possibilities.
It is actually a freak occurrence that you are still alive -- that the world hasn't crushed humanity.
I am alive and that is amazing.
I find it reassuring and it makes me very calm. That's my positive note for the day. Actually this and my belief in fate makes my day, everyday. Unfortunately, a ghost never did my homework. I do it all myself. I'm optimistic as you can find!!!!

I don't think I've ever had a bad experience with spirits or entities of any sort. And I've used Ouija boards successfully for years. If anything it's the reverse. Most of my dealings with other humans end up as a bad experience, I think I would much rather keep my company with ghosts or Fae creatures.

You are exactly right about the good and bad side of ghosts. If they are good in life they are usually good in ghostly form also unless some tragic or traumatic death caused their energy to be scarred or damaged in some way. My personal experiences with ghost have been both good and bad. So it totally depends on the ghost itself. If you are a good person and find that you have become a ghost what would you do? I wouldn't go around scaring the crap out of people, unless they deserved a good jolt of "scared ********" of course. I would help you find your keys when they are lost, you can't find them and then you go back and lo and behold there they are! You could be surrounded by "good" ghosts but never knew it because they don't go around scaring you.

Yes there are good spirits, but knowing me I would only collect evil spirits, because of the curse that my grandmother set apon my family :(
What sort of curse?
I think you can overcome all sorts of obstacles. Perhaps you will only attract good spirits because you emit so much positive energy.

I was reading about pixies or fairies who help clean your house. I can't remember where I read this. I think they're a Chinese legend? Anyway, they're little sprites that you can't see, that work to get your house sparkling clean. But there's a catch. They want a human sacrifice every year. So, okay, they're not completely happy spirits. But they're easily tricked.
I'm sure there are plenty of happy spirits though. Unicorns and happy fairies. Leprechauns and genies.
