Do you ever think you see something out of the corner of your eye, but when you turn to look- there's nothing there?

One explanation for this is the "shadow folk." Shadow folk or shadow people is the term describing entities that have been experienced by some individuals. There's skepticism; no way to study this exactly, no evidence, just eyewitness accounts of the shadow folk.

i have had a similar experience several times.. haha funny story.. when i was younger i messed aroumd with some spell or something and kind of wonder if i messed it up or pissed off something and that might be what it is *shrug* no harm so far but then again i was blessed by a witch against harm ( not my doing my step father had it done) <-- another story altogether :)
but i have seen them as being black, grayish, and white not sure if same thing or colors mean different things

I tend to notice these shadow people whenever i'm travelling under bridges, especially on one specific road. But when i slow down and turn to look I see nothing. In the beginning I thought it was my imagination, but how many times can I imagine them?

I think they are travellers, watchers of some sort; reason I say this is because I don't have any misgivings or bad feelings when I see them. When i see them they are always black and do not stick around long - or maybe it's because my angle of vision has changed so I don't see them.

Trolls live under bridges! Sometimes they'll grant you a wish. Sometimes, well, they'll eat you.

Maybe the "shadow folk" are really all we can see sometimes of the mystical beings in the world. Like angels or fairies or harpies. Except when we're at an age of skepticism we only see them as some shadow at the periphery of our vision.

I have seen them. In fact there is are a couple that appear in my apartment now and then. I have never felt any threat from them. I do get startled by them sometimes. Now that I think about it I haven't seen one in months.

Ah, a wish! But then stopping on the freeway is nearly impossible at that speed. Oh well...

If we follow your hypothesis Holiday, then the more we open our minds (and i imagine especially our hearts) the clearer they will become and eventually no longer be shadow people but fairies, etc... It may take a long time or it may be achieved in no time at all - are you up for trying?

Well, that they live under bridges, they might grant wishes, or they might cook and eat your ass. So...yeah pretty much everything I know about my girlfriends from high school. :lol:

I had a head on experience with a hooded shadow person. It was down the well lighted street from me. Like.. posted up in the middle of the street, as funny as it sounds. Wasn't funny at the time. My heavy door shut hard on me when I turned around to go inside. I had the distinct feeling if I looked behind me at that moment without opening the door first I would've seen it on the steps or closer. But whatever. I didn't and quickly went inside and chillded the fuck out.

i've had several experiences with these shadow folk, most of the time it's pretty chilled out, i see them walking down the hall at my dorms or walking just at the edge of the light. the one that always freaks me out is another one i see, sometimes i see a white shadow folk moving around, it's weird. it always gives me the creeps when i see it. i thought shadow folk were just black until i saw this one.

Is it possible that shadow the people are people on the other side of the veil? Perhaps at places where the veil is thinner we are able to glimpse the other side and some of the inhabitants. If you follow this train of thought, than it's possible we appear as shadow people to them....

it's possible. It's possible it's a bleed-over from other dimensions that we don't know of. Pretty much anything is possible until proven what they really are.

I have seen shadow folk for years. They often startle me and 9 times out of 10 I get a bad feeling when I see them. I try to get away from them as soon as possible. 

When I lived in Nebraska I had a friend who took us down this road. He wanted to make sure he was not seeing things or losing his mind. He would see shadow folks not just one but groups of them just standing around in the field. Sure enough they were there he wasn't crazy. Since there was a grave yard on the same street we figured they were ghost. We also found a little memorial type thing on the same road for some army guys.

Maybe they aren't bad or negative folk. Maybe they're responsible for all the good things. Or maybe they're just neutral observers from another plane whose paths just happen to intersect with ours sometimes.

well, Im sorry to say that those are not Shadow Folk, those are succubuses/incubuses ur dealing w/.
