Mew was mostly an HM slave for most players. TBH, Mewtwo was better in actual matches.
man memories with this post. I cheated like crazy back when I played. I owned a Gamboy and Gamboy color and had a link cable, that's right I traded with myself to get all the Pokemon, and played through the games multiple times to get those TMs multiple times.
and then came Gameshark and with it my Mew, and Celebi. My Mew knew, well the game still exists so I could say knows, Hyperbeam, Blizzard, Thunder, and Psychic. and with the Everstones I ended up being able to keep one of every pokemon, I was crazy back in those days with Pokemon.
That's right I had seven Mewtwos, maybe Eight of them. If I still played I would be one of those disturbing older guys with the team of all Mewtwos. LoL.
No matter how many Pokemon they make nothing will compare to the sheer awesomeness that was Mew and Mewtwo.
What's funny is the opening of that Arceus movie, "hundred, more likely thousands of different kinds" in reference to all the pokemon out there. and with that Legendaries will be less and less special. Each game has at least four, and with the twin game set-up they do each new land has five new ones, or even six new ones since doing the third game per land deal, and the hidden one so seven per ara.
Red-Blue: Zapdos, Articuno, Moltress, Mewtwo, Mew
Yellow is here.
Gold-Silver-Crystal: Raikou, Suicune, Entei, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi
Ruby-Sapphire: Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Deoxy,
and those regi ones like Registeel.
heh, turns out the last game I bought was Ruby but not Sapphire, guess Ruby is where I decided to stop.
and from what I gather the new games added on Palkia, Dialga, Darkrai, Cereiul...Okay no clue on the name it some rubber duck looking thing that brings good dreams, Arceus, and there are some new robot looking ones whose names I don't know.
fun note, of all the Legendary ones, Raikou is still the only one not to be in a movie where its not just seen in the opening or a main series episode. I understand they did these OVA type ones using other characters like a test of not using Ash and friends that had an espiode with Raikou in it.
you know I think I just like the cat-monster legendaries and bird like ones. Guess I got the impression early on that the best pokemon were going to either be cat like or bird like or cute. These newer more dragon or mechanical looking ones just seem off, but that could be age. After all with YuGiOh and what not it seems mecha-dragons are the thing with the younger kids now.
