SH you are better than "the world." Sometimes the world is just wrong...

I am glad I am not speaking of the whole world...just my world..family/friends.

Life's Candle Flickers

Why can't life be thought in one light,
When all we know is good and gone,
Like the flickering of a candle light.
Extinguished by the breath of life.
When the warming flames goes out,
The shadows reintroducing themselves.
And congregate in and around.

The darkness arrives like the hungering wolves,
Watching from the cover of the woods waiting.
And the darkness is nothing,
But death taking its course to make things right.
Pulling away those souls we all so claim to have,
To guide us to the unknown.

And where shall we go?
There are so many paths we pave for ourselves.
I suppose we could not have one,
For all is part of existence,
One light goes out, another is newly lit.
Even with so many passages surrounding us,
It all leads to the same end.

For life is truly a candle burning,
In the night and daylight, in and out of existence

I find so much wisdom in your words here. This poem sounds like something I would write myself.

I try my best.

Little Flower

Little flower how I watched thee grow,
And see your beauty that is so immense.
For time goes by the torturous passing,
You developed from a little seed.
And matured into a bloom of colorful petals.
Everlasting, imprinting images into our mind.

Thus this beauty I behold more lovely then a human face.
Your stems curves and unusual colors master this world.
You bloom for the earth to see, yet you do not care.
As you gentle scent spreads,
Seducing the bees, whom come to you to carry away your precious treasure.

Oh frail beauty that will soon wither,
You have ruled in the days of light,
Who has rained its blessing upon your delicate face.
Now you wither away, dying off like the Great Empires have done in the past.
To let the next little bud spread its petals,
Do not worry little flower for you will not have died off in vain.

Grave of Memories

The graves built by our hands reclaim the old world,
Stealing away out dearly departed in an instant
Whisking away our living breath leaving our hearts lost and breakable
Becoming the fragile china we cherish.
Weeping willows we are, for all the sadness we held up inside bursts out,
The empty feeling inside us arises and becomes reality through blurry eyes.
Laid out flowers fragrant the mournful sights of the departed,
Religious icons make the blessing mourning in our place as we move on.
The soil lays the dead to rest feeding the world their memories,
The wind blows and seems to say "Rest for eternity."
Soldiers of small stones roll up and down the hills of the valley land.
Marked by the stone carver's tool, inscriptions to the dead,
Like poems living on forever, in expression of feeling.
And the wind dances maybe capturing the spirits in its eternal dance.
Leaving this place of pain and beauty behind.

Thank you Robin. I believe I might be taking a break from poetry for a while to focus on college work and my story that I am writing on darkness for a while. ^^'

Untitled

'Good bye today' I say.
Let the sun draw its blinds,
And the waves of chill wash away the warmth.
Let the birds put away their orchestra,
And the crickets introduce themselves in song.
Let the colors begin to fade,
As night's moon comes out from its rest.

Though the city is never asleep,
There is a period when it goes dead silent with no signs of life..
The lights blaze in my eyes
And the shadows dance everywhere.
The city sirens join the crickets musing.
Silent bandit roams in the alleys stalking their prey.
Mother's sing their children to sleep,
Now its the end of today.

I can feel the city night,
Deep in my heart, (I am the soundless being.)
Watching the outside world change in dreams.
But I say 'good-bye today'.
To see it another day.
When the sun is up,
And anything can happen along the way...

wow...pretty deep.
I like how you colored the changes with your words, and the rhyming at the end was cute. It flowed well.

::An Age When Nothing Mattered::

Part I.

When I knew you...I knew the sky!
I knew the world and the colors like no other!
I could understand the falling of water,
To the lowest point of a cliff.

My mind could conceive the world in wide view,
When the bird sang I saw it sang to the day.
And when a little girl nature was something wondrous,
A grand estate which was yet to be uncovered.

It was a maze, I wandered through.
Everything was infinite,
A piece of a puzzle to place together.

II.

When you changed...I forgot the wonders,
The ages changed...
All I knew faded to a blur.

No longer was the world pure and innocent,
It became a mass large, deranged, and unknowing.
I could feel the corruption and unkindness,
The hope still ingrained in my beating heart.

You then realize the mirror is broken,
Every little thing matters,
All that was mixed, lost to the values of man.

No longer am I a child,
No longer does the same wonders amaze me.
Yet there is small piece to cling to.
I hope many hold onto.
So the world is not lost in itself with nothing but clones.

Nature still glimmers...
I push the fog away seeing through the matters and pain.
To see the innocence and joy in another,
That is when I see what I once knew...

To Strength

Did you know from the beginning of time you were strongest?
When things seemed to fall apart for others around you,
You were the one who offered yourself
(Your blessed heart)....
Like a sacrificial lamb of thought and feeling,
(A treasure not everyone has)

One of mastered beautiful words into inscription,
In touch with the deepest heart.
A masterpiece that Da Vinci could never create himself.
(Because you, after his time painted it out purely of dawning colors beckoning, welcoming.)

Did you know your strength?
You had something many lacked,
A true smile not many are granted.
And an offering of friendship.
(Someone so sweet)
A being of originality,
You are something more,
(No someone more)
Words could never truly describe.

So no more feelings of loss or sadness,
Time to wipe it away, and gain gladness,
To prevent the on coming madness.
Dig out your strength and use it with feeling,
(With that genuine smile)
For you are someone beautiful.
Who will gain something soon

So no more doubt of yourself,
(Have a good laugh)
Rejoice in what you have,
Never forget the friends by your side,
For you are strongest,
Did you know that?

Good bye Old Self

I know of the sorrows that dig deep in me
There it scars everything in my heart,
Nothing feels the same,
Carrying shadows of what once was.
unable to escape,
Painful blurs come as nightmares,
Eating me up.
It's like a mirror of my reflection
Thrown upon the ground,
A shattering sound.
Now they are echoes in my head,
Pieces with sharp edges

Another one lost

My heart it aches, but never breaks.
My eyes they tear, but they never shed.
My soul is weak, but it can not begin to dread.
What is to come soon in my head.

Dead and gone,
There is nothing left in my heart to spare,
For another one passed but not in a pair.

Lost and gone,
You are from my sight,
And I never got to to say good-bye.
Because I did not have the might,
To continue on tonight.

I loved you so,
the world never revealed it,
For my love was in the core.
And it made it even more.

You were our aging flower,
That we cherished after her passing,
We hoped you would not suffer,
It was all for good thinking,
And what could be in our power.

Rest in peace beloved grandpa,
I hope you find her where you are,
In our hearts forever now.

There is always something precious.

I knew there would come the day when I wouldn’t know what to say
You would steal the words from my mouth and lead me a stray,
So tell me now the words you folded up in a metaphorical letter,
No matter what you may have thought I know knew things would have changed
And maybe not for the better.
Never let anyone say you are to blame.

You know that you may seem saddened and played,
Know to uncover the strength that we all share in the depths of our hearts when there is pain,
This is what leaves the biggest mark.
You knew all along the facts that had no reason to be spoken,
As the broken record I knew I could be for once I remained silent.

When those tears dripped down your face,
I wanted more than anything to just say something,
So I could see that silly smile upon your face,
The brightness that radiates from you pulls people in,
The optimist of our little group,
The one we all loved to be the goof.

Now you smile with such beauty,
And how the beloved renewed her strength,
You are loved and cherished from within.
I just wanted to say ‘you are most loved by your dearest friends,’
In the end all hearts mend.
