A group of knights known as the Brotherhood guard the kingdom of Rysis from all threats. Consisting of four of the greatest warriors ever seen, the Brotherhood is both a military power and a symbol to the people, a source of confidence and security. That is why the death of Sir Aio has dealt Rysis such a crushing blow. Without the four warriors of the Brotherhood to protect them, the people begin to descend into panic. Fear grips the kingdom, their faith shaken by the fact that one of their mighty guardians should fall.
In an effort to quell the rising tide of disorder in the kingdom, the ruling body, known as The Council arranges for a tournament to be held among the citizens, the winner given the opportunity to succeed Sir Aio as the fourth member of the Brotherhood. Not just anyone will do, however; and the Council immediately begins recruiting participants for the tournament in secret, their criteria unknown to even the Brotherhood who will oversee the combat and Sir Cyrus, leader of the knights, who will train the young warrior and groom them for their position following their victory.
When the citizens of Rysis gathered at the battleground just before dawn, most were shocked to find the combatants caged whilst awaiting their bouts, their wrists and ankles bound with chains. More appalling still was their youth, some even younger than 10 years old. Slave children had been brought from all reaches of the kingdom, each being promised the luxury, honor, and freedom of knighthood if they can only defeat all of their opponents in battles to the death. Anxiously, the citizens of Rysis await the start of the event, the only sounds the whisperings of the crowd and the scraping of a shovel as the undertaker digs a wealth of early graves.
With the rising sun, these children will be pitted against each other. For the victor, a life of wealth, fame, and respect… for all others, only darkness awaits.

Anyway, I know it’s rushed and all that but it’s an idea I need to get out and on the table so I can start it. I apologize to anyone so unfortunate as to read this piss-poor introduction. Anyway, it’s basically just a set-up for Kajo anyway, and she knows I wrote it just ‘cause I love her.
The usual rules apply. No godmoding, one-paragraph minimum, keep it professional (spelling and grammar). Post a bio for approval before joining. Oh, speaking of which, as per request from my ‘lil sis, all characters require an elemental alignment. It’ll come into play later, trust me.
Anyway:
Name: Cyrus
Age: 27
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 190 lbs
Hair: Blonde, shoulder-length
Eyes: Blue
Element: Fire
History: Groomed from birth as a soldier, Cyrus is descended from a long line of Brotherhood members. Though many would falter or rebel in his position, the young man embraced his lot in life and grew into a mighty swordsman. When he turned 20, in order to take his father’s place at the head of the Rysis Knighthood, he bested the other three Brotherhood members in a contest and, as tradition dictates, slew his father in unarmed combat. He has since led the military power of Rysis and come to be respected by all those within the kingdom as a brilliant tactician and an unnaturally powerful warrior.

Name: The name he was given at birth is unknown, but he answers to Alaras
Age: Also unknown, but appears to be 11 or 12
Build: Average
Height: 5'7
Hair: Short, black
Eye color: Black
Element: Some call it "Mirror", others call it "Void", but whatever they call it, the end result is that he seems to mimic both the powers and (to a lesser extent) fighting styles of those around him, even if he is not currently fighting them, and often with little to no time to actually observe and learn what said abilities are. When in isolation, he does not seem to exhibit any particular element, though he still seems more than capable of handling himself without having such power to call upon.
Background: Not much is known about this boy, other than that he was captured around 4 or 5 years ago. He seems to be highly intelligent, yet seldom speaks more than what he needs to. When he does, it tends to be profound, and he's shown that he can command a vast vocabulary, indicative of unusually high education, though his past is almost completely unknown. His intellect carries over into his fighting style, and when forced into combat, will exploit all factors around him to the maximum possible extent to win without killing. He is skilled enough in this style that his battles often end with minimal injuries to all involved parties and no deaths. His understanding of emotion, however, is off in many ways, and his use of logic in everything can become irritating. It's also been noted that though healers and other mystics have verified that he does experience pain like everyone else, he does not seem to react strongly to it until the injury becomes severe. The true scope of his education, talents, knowledge, and skill are all unknown, mostly because he seldom talks to anyone more than is necessary. Seems to maintain a neutral expression at all times, and does not express his emotions as far as anyone can tell, though there do seem to be days where he is more likely to react to people and others where he completely ignores everyone above and beyond his usual silence.
Other notes about things player-characters aren't supposed to know: The idea here is that this guy's autistic, a prodigy/genius, and doesn't like to talk, which is why so much about him is unknown. Though he looks young, he's actually 15 years old. He's under the effects of an elemental hex that has halted his development, and which can only be lifted by either getting the one who did it to undo it, or killing the one who hexed him. He knows his own past quite well, and his skills and education are a derivative of his element, which he himself calls Learning. My premise for this would be as follows: though most people have an element such as Fire, Water, Electricity, and so on, there are also many others who have more unusual elements. These could be something really specific, such as Swords (yes, I'm borrowing the idea a bit from Fate/Stay Night, and I'll rework the character if you nix the concept), or Animals. In his case, his element of Learning allows his body and mind to rapidly analyze and duplicate both elemental and personal talents/skills/techniques so long as it is reasonably possible for someone else who would otherwise be their equivalent to learn it. The gist is that as long as what he tries to Learn isn't something dependent on having some unique bloodline or genetic trait, or somehow dependent on some other factor he could never duplicate, he can Learn it and eventually master it with enough practice, and given his intellect, he often manages to find some way to turn the tide of a battle so that he survives. The one who cursed him, mostly in an attempt to control him and his potential, apparently is involved with the tournament somehow. His real name is Marc Ravenwing, though the only ones still alive who know that name are himself and the one who cursed him.
Here's my character. I know it's a bit unusual, and if you have any issues with it, I'll make another one that fits as something more ordinary.

So are we to be given roles or are we guests of some one high ranking, members of the audience come from afar or are we slaves fighting for our lives? what's it to be? Just asking so I do not post anything that may take the tale off the rails so to speak. I am so looking forward to playing this character.

Name~ Cuan
Height~ 5`6
Weight~ 145
Hair~ Black
Eyes~ Green
Element~ Earth: Plants and Animal control.
History~ While Cyrus’ father was the leader within the brotherhood Faolan was the eldest member. He saw the need and the outlet for a successor within a small dirty orphan girl that was run out of each place because animals would attack those that had their way with her or the compound was over run with plants.
He called her Cuan or “Little Wolf” to Faolan’s “Wolf”. She was groomed to become the one that would take over his seat on the brotherhood in all things combatant and in her skills. In defiance of tradition she refused to kill Faolan when she defeated him in combat at 20. Faolan had figured this would be so and it was the reason she made the fight private. Faolan, high believer in all things tradition, said goodbye and killed himself.
Cuan got his helm—in the shape of, you guessed it, a wolf’s head—and his new sword and his old sword—the new one obviously made just for her in the color of silver and etched with a scene of woodland animals and plants. She took over his room and the making of herbs for any injuries the order sustained.
With the death of their beloved Sir Aio a tourney has begun to find his replacement. She has a slightly different agenda for the term of the competition. The passing of Sir Aio proves that Faolan was right with some of his ways. They each needed a skilled and trained successor… or at least a hand in the future for inevitabilities.
