Okay if Vampires really do exsist can the drink there own blood if not and they did what would happen too them just curious if anyone knows post please thanks !

1. It seems that there is a defficiency in their blood. That makes them look for other people's blood.

2. That is kind of the whole point behind vampires, I think: they need other people's blood! I don't think that the myth would have spread this far, if vampires where creatures that just nibbled on their own arms for blood from time to time.

umm well the thing about vamps drinking their own blood, is for a simple reason really..

there is a "deficiency" of sorts in a vampires blood..its the energy that vampires crave, and need... so if there is a deficiency of that energy in a vampires blood, what good would drinking their own blood do? and in fact its kind of counter productive to do so... yes it helps with the craving for the taste of blood, but in fact when you arent gaining any energy by doing so its actually counter productive because you are removing even more energy from the system, because the body has to work to replace that blood, thus using more energy.

First off, the question is moot since vampires do not exist. Drinking blood does not a vampire make.

What you're really asking is "If people with a blood fetish drink their own blood, what would happen to them?"

AFAIK, there is no legend dealing with a mythological vampire drinking their own blood, so the answer to what you actually asked is "nobody knows, because it would be pointless."

To answer the question you meant to ask and the ramifications therein:

If a blood fetishist actually drank their own blood, they'd be slightly anemic from blood loss and they would vomit their guts out. Blood is the strongest emitic substance known to man; an emitic substance is one that induces vomiting.

NOTE - DRINKING and LICKING A SCRATCH are extremely different things. Most people in here who claim to drink blood actually consume a trivial amount of blood. To an average human being (and everyone in here is an average human being - there are no exceptions, you can claim to be otherwise but you are quite frankly an average human being), any amount more than 2-3 tablespoons or so WILL make you vomit uncontrollably.

A blood fetishist does not gain any energy from consuming ANY amount of blood, period, with the possible exception of a few calories from substance consumption. He/She'd get more energy from eating a Snickers candy bar. There is no magical property of blood. There is no so-far unexplained by science supernatural benefit from consuming blood. The only possible thing a blood fetishist could "get" from blood is a psychologicaly positive reaction. Period.

Don't you think that if you could get some extra-sensory energy from consuming blood, every sports drink in the world would be made from it?

... Ha-ha-ha! Just imagine someone thinking "ok, if adding blood can give me super-duper energy, how about drugs and all kinds of crap? Ah, pharmacist, I'd like some cocaine to go." :lol:

crature feature does have a point form all the things i have heard and read and seen no matter how varied thay may be i have never heard of a "vampire" drinking their OWN blood

And if vampires did exist, which I'm not saying they do, because I don't believe they do, but, why on Earth would they want to drink their own blood? They wouldn't. That's the fun part about being a vampire, you'd get to one- kill other people, two- drink their blood, three- not puke your guts out, etc etc. Once again, I'll clearly state I don't believe that vampires exist... *glances at creature_feature* *waits to be pounced on*

Thank you for anwsering my question creature_feature Im not stupid I knew that if you drank your own blood that would happen( I wasent trying too be rude or offensive) but I guess it is becuase I am still young ( not saying your old I dont know you ) and the things I believe in are more supernatural but once again I think you for your wisdom

Well everyone here has very good disscussion views to which I am not one to back up or dispute .
But hypathetically of course lets assume for a moment we have a vampire who does exist.
#1 the subject matter on the blood deficiency is just as accurate as to say people have a food deficiency.
We all know if we do not eat for a long period of time we will of course die well the same goes for said vampire . but unlike us who very well might live given proper circumstances (and I hope no-one ever has to find out) if we were to cut off one of our own limbs and eat it (AndI think I can speak for most on this issue find the idea of it sickening I'd rather die then cut off my own flesh and eat it) ,A vampire only has the blood currently in the body at the time and would not even in the most dire of circumstances drink thier own blood.

Very interesting since I just read a book detailing this. Since the book was terrible I won't mention it's title. (ok, I've really forgotten and don't feel like getting up to look for it, but it WAS terrible) Basically the story talks about a trashy vampire that was running around a meeting creating all these new vampires, then he drained all their blood when he realized he screwed up...he then made up some story to the new vamps and made them all drink their own blood (they thought it was someone else's blood) and thereby killed them all.

That is the only incident I have ever come across in media talking about a vampire drinking their own blood.

Anyways, coming from an avid Anne Rice reader, I have to tell you that she describes plenty of her characters, even Akasha herself (Queen of the Damned), as a vampire who drinks other vampire's blood. And it brings to mind the scene where Marius and Pandora are in the garden drinking each other's blood at the same time to signify their "marriage". If you want to get real technical, wouldn't they in effect be drinking their own? since the blood that they are drinking mingles with their own.....?? think about it

:P I don't think they can. If they did they would proabably die. That's why they need other people's blood, but that's just me!
