I would disagree, with the exception of Godzilla vs Mothra Battle for Earth, and the Mothra Reborn Series, Mothra's powers have been very limited, and almost always anyway either got killed or was seriously injured during its battles with Godzilla.

I don't understand why in the newist version in Godzilla Final Wars they removed all of Mothra's uber powers and only left it with its original abilities.

Wind gusts, poison scales. Not much to work with when your oppenent has an Atomic heat beam.

I would say he's best opponent has to be King Ghidorah.

I think the best opponent was Tokyo although I enjoyed most of the enemies. Mothra was a close second

Didn't care who he was fighting, I just loved watching Godzilla movies as a kid.

it depends on which one you're talking about and which series of movies as well.

Godzilla has three timelines and several one shots.
usually though Godzilla was a Godzillasaurus that was mutated by nuclear tests.

Mothra was a reincarnating god bug.

Rodan was just, big, no explination for its size.

Ghidorah was a space monster,
Gigan was built by aliens.

for most its either nuclear energy, god monster, or created by mad aliens.

when were there different timelines? i really need to watch these again

then they started what people call the 90's timeline, they effectivly erased every past movie from canon except for the first film

making Godzilla 1985 a direct sequal to the original movie and then a slew of movies from the 90's were part of that series which ended with Godzilla vs Destroyah.

then they made a bunch that were all one shots (only connected to the first film and nothing else) like Godzilla 2000, Godzilla vs Megaguirus, ect...

in fact in all that only two movies were connected to each other Godzilla Against Mecha-Godzilla and its sequal Godzilla Tokyo SOS. which those two were also connected to the movie "Mothra" and a a bunch of toho b-class movies like War of the Gargantuans.

the latest movie also looks to be a one shot, only connected to past one shots of other monsters, but that's disputable

ok another dumb question. aside from the title how can you tell it is a different timeline? it isn't one timeline is all b&w is it?

No, only the first two movies are.

you can tell from when the movie was made, also the different timelines are official so they have names.

in every time line the first movie is still canon.

or eras would be a better way to say it.

I think the Smog Monster was the best one. I mean, throughout that whole movie it whups up and down on Godzilla, and I actually thought it was going to win. How could Godzilla beat such an adversary??

the newest Godzilla smoked Hedorah (the smog monster) in a matter of seconds though. Then again the newer generation Godzilla was about hundred feet bigger and alot stronger than the old 70's Godzilla.

Rodan was pretty good....better than Mothra!!!!
