Full Version: Potential Vampires

I was just thinking, there are lots of dark characters in Fiction and in the Public eye who have lots of vampire traits...but aren't technically Vampires.

I can think of two from literature:

The Crow. He comes back from the dead, has a vampire-like appearance, is invincible. He is motivated by the blood of his enemies. But not a Vampire.

The Phantom Of the Opera. He lives underground, Sleeps in a coffin, kidnaps a beautiful girl...but not a Vampire.

Nick Cave. He's a musician. Just look at him! Tall, gaunt, likes to sing about death...but not a vampire.

Dani Filth. He really really ought to be a Vampire, he does the act so well. Plus I love his clothes...but not a Vampire...yet.

ummm can anyone think of any more? I imagine a lot of Death metal band members would fit the bill. But there have to be others.

Umm, since when do vampires live underground and kidnap beautiful girls? and it never shows the Phantom sleeping in a coffin. He actually has no vampiric traits whatsoever.

hmmmm....possibly me.....singer for local death metal act NeverEnding Hatred.....although i prefer being recognized as the lost fallen angel.....

Lord Bahamut, I apologise, I should have made it clear I was speaking about the novel, not the film. The phantom sleeps in a coffin because... "Sometimes one has to get used to eternity". He's also mistaken for a supernatural creature. And in terms of classical vampire fiction, the predator vs the helpless female... The Phantom deserves to be an Almost vampire. I'm not saying he is a vampire, I'm saying he is Vampiric.

How about taking your pick of any of the members of Type O Negative... Oh we're looking for vampires not bangables... but still with their style music... "She's got a date at midnight, with nosferantu. Oh baby Lilly Munster ain't got nothin on you..." wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Nick Cave and The Crow? ~*~pulls a Homer~*~ aggghhhh yummy. . .

How's about the band that started showing up in Hit Parader early to mid 90's called "the vampire lestat?"
Darkfire87
I love the crow movies. But did you know the guy that played in them is dead?
Lady Opaleyes
I think most Crow fans are aware of that , Dark, but thanks for the heads up. Actually, if you're interested, the full story is here:

i like the point you have maid with the crow he does have alot of vampirc traits but can be kiled in a totaly differnt way because all you have to do is kill the crow and he is a mortal again and can be killed easily
Lady Opaleyes
Hmm yes, he's neither mortal nor immortal.

I just thought of another one. Count Saint - Germain. Chelsea Yarboro made him into a character of fiction, but the legends of the guy really do exist. A guy turned up on French TV claiming to be him. Apparently The count was never seen to eat, retained the same agelessness throughout centuries, had hypnotic influences on people...

Seana, that's so true. They do all seem to be very bangable: I thought it was just me. Hey, we're getting a programme on British TV soon about Lord Byron! Yay! He can go on my list. Especially as he's being played by Jonny Lee Miller of Trainspotting, Plunkett and Maclean, and Dracula 2001 fame! Oh how my fragile maiden heart is a-beating....
