I just got home from a midnight showing of The Dark Knight. OMFG it was awesome. I love movies but can usually figure out what will happen next. There were some plot twist I did not for see. Heath L. played the best Joker yet in my opinion, and oddly enough I found him sexy. If you had any doubts on going forget them. Oh and there is nothing after the credits. There is an in memory of for Heath and another guy. I will be going to see this movie again. Which I do not do ever and least not in theater.
Lollipop
I was going to go and then my phone died and I had no charger. I'm still trying to make plans to get up to the movie theatre sometime soon. I wanna see it so bad.
Dante
Going tonight. Picking up the tickets during my lunch break.

Happy Dark Knight Day everybody!!!

Damnit people..lucky..I don't get to see it for awhile..I love the skin on the forum though..
darkangel16
My friend Amanda saw the midnight showing. And I'm going to see it Sun. or Mon. I can't wait, he was already sexy enough and then playing this role where he was evil made him even more sexy.
Tigress1
Yes he made the joker some thing he has never been before. Which after the movies was over made me wonder. If they carry on and make a third who will replace him. I don't think after Heaths performance any one can come close to what he did with the joker.
darkangel16
Did they leave it open for the Joker to come back? If so then that is bad.
Tigress1
Well nothing saying he will be back but he lives and indicates that he and Batman destined to fight forever.
darkangel16
True. You're right, because if he did a great job which I bet he did, it's going to be hard to find some one to come close.
Lollipop
People should put a warning if they post spoilers >:(
Mysterium
I agree. I am a little irratated that the end was just blown for me.
darkangel16
sorry guys it came out in convo.
Tigress1
Well get your panties out of a bunch that was not the ending. I bet all most no one will guess how it ends. I really didn't give away any thing. I mean really do you think they are going to kill someone off the first time around.
darkangel16
She's got a point.
Sire
I don't see any spoilers in this thread. Yet.

A tip though, if you haven't seen the movie yet and you notice a topic on a forum talking about the movie you're about to go see... or the book (Harry Potter?) you're about to read... it's a good idea to steer clear of that thread. Duh!

darkangel16
Very true because people who have seen it wil probably let something slip.
Mysterium
There have been plenty of theads that had movie discussion without spoiling anything. And even then people were either kind enough to put a warning or some were even polite enough to black out text (Like Pier) that had possible spoilers.
Tigress1
I would not post any thing in here to spoil it for others. Now if someone were to ask me something I would let them know without putting it in here
darkangel16
That's very considerate.

Why not? They do do that you know...

Most people put the spoilers in a dark writing or post that there are spoilers up ahead. Don't try and play dumb and act like they don't.

And want to talk about it, especially opening day.

You only have yourself to blame, if you visit a thread titled The Dark Knight on it's opening day after people have seen it. You should know better, that there will be possible spoilers as people discuss the movie or book or whatever.

But again, I didn't notice the spoiler in this thread myself. If you think you saw a spoiler, you'll probably find out that it wasn't an important part of the movie at all when you actually do get to see it.

Dumbledore dies. Oops, my bad.

Don't read the Dark Knight threads until you've seen the movie. DUH!

Tyler will be happy, a DVDScreener of The Dark Knight just finished downloading.

Like I've already said...in case you missed it...was that in all the other threads I've been in about movies or books or whatever have you, the spoilers were put in a dark color so as to go with the background or "spoiler alerts ahead" was printed beforehand. There was, and is no reason, to expect there would be information given away in here...since most people say they're going to give something away before actually giving it away.
darkangel16
First of all you enter at your own risk. Second, it's over, ok you know what you know you read it deal with it don't keep an arguement going where it's not needed.

I didn't miss it. You expect more from people than I do, but then again I don't see the spoiler. I've said that three times now. If someone will point it out to me, in a PM I'll add the spoiler tags around it. I guess I've been around the internet long enough to know better. You have people who will intentionally post a spoiler to ruin it for you. You have to accept some of that blame yourself too, for entering a thread like this on opening day and reading. That's common sense.

How about I can post whatever I like and you stay out of conversations that are apparently not important.
darkangel16
Don't get pissy geeze. Why don't you do what Sire suggested.
Sire

I just want to say it took me more than 4 hours to read the last book. Who can read it that fast? That's a lot of pages!
darkangel16
LMAO. Sire. That should get your point acrossed.

How, exactly? Seriously, put away the pom poms already.
darkangel16
Bite me I say what's on my mind. Stop attacking.
Sire
I'm just joking around about that. Dumbledore thing WAS a spoiler.

The Dark Knight movie is an action drama, where there really isn't a lot of mystery about what happens. Especially if you know anything at all about the Batman story. There aren't many (if any) surprises to be spoiled for you. It's not that kind of a movie. If you're sensitive enough to be upset by whatever was posted in this thread, it just makes good common sense to me not to visit them until you've seen the movie. Especially if you're seeing it today, tomorrow or this weekend anyway. Just wait until you have, and then read the thread.

Nothing posted here is going to ruin this movie for you. I promise!

Ah, now it's fine to say what's on ones mind when before it wasn't. Inconsistent much?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So here's mine, you're insane for saying that.
Vampire_Gamer
The nearest theater is a 2 hour drive for me =(. I guess I am just going to have to wait for it to come out on DVD.

Wow you didn't like it. I don't know why I loved it and I haven't bothered with any other Batman movie besides the first one with Christian Bale. I didnt care for it but this one looked great and I feel it was. I like this directors dark look in the Batman series. I can't wait for another one but at the same time I know if the joker comes back I will be disappointed because no one will ever do the Joker like Heath.
Sire
I was skeptical before seeing the movie that Heath Ledger could do the Joker right. I loved it.
DragonKing9
i thought the first was a lot better. i liked the costume from the first better too. the cowl looks wrong to me. i did like the way two face was done. really liked the bike fight scene. but there was something missing and made us yawn. now i can understand a 5yr old, almost 6, yawning at parts but me? something was missing
Arimak
He was, by far the best actor for the Joker.... EVER.

I'm liking the new Batman, and while this one was LONG, I couldn't leave my seat to go pee after that 50 gallon soda they gave me at the concession stand.

I've skimmed through a couple of the old comics, but it's been ages, and they were a friend's. Like I said, I only skimmed through them. However, this version of Batman is a million times better than Clooney or that other dude (Michael Keaton was pretty good though).

The ending with Two Face was disappointing, but they only implied that he ****. Again, Joker was everything I hoped him to be and more. That was $10 well spent.

Sorry, I just ran into this image and I couldn't help myself and had to post it!

Going to it tonight with my siblings and some friends. Gonna get really high beforehand, possibly trip as well. I can't fucking wait.....the joker is soooo sexy.

They caught Christian Bale drugged up!

it was slightly far beyond awesome &
(i originally had thought they'd cast it all wrong.)
boo on me.

Went and saw the Midnight showing, and saw it again opening night.

Fantastic, really.

Heath Ledger was chilling and I liked Maggie Gyllenhall as Rachel Dawes much more than Katie Holmes.
I thought Heath really captured that dark, maniacal side of the Joker and ran with it.
The visuals were excellent, memorable lines, etc etc.

I really don't want someone to replace Ledger as the Joker... his performance was iconic.
And he was sexy while doing it. :P Forget that I have a deep obsession with the Joker ANYWAY.

As a fellow method actor, I can really understand how thta role would have depressed Ledger... he plays it flawlessly.

Something no one has mentioned in this thread yet:
Aaron Eckhart was a wonderful Harvey Dent/Two Face. :]
darkangel16
So I saw it tonight and I liked it but it really depressed me and made me see why it tortured him so much and Tigress1 you're right how mare they going to find someone to do that good of a job on the next one?

Buddha
I saw it saturday afternoon..and t was quite awesome...definitely a movie worth seeing in the theatre.
Palavader
Saw about 3/4 of it online..then the video got taken down..but awesome..Heath Ledger was the best joker there has been yet..a sad loss..going to see it tonight probably
Dante
I'm a big Batman fan as it is, so I may get a little long-winded here. (... and be forewarned of spoilers for you sensitive types)

The Dark Knight goes far beyond being a superhero movie. It brought out everything I love about that character and his world. I only became a Batman fanatic at age 14. I loved the Tim Burton movie up until a friend of mine let me read the leatherbound collection: Frank Miller's Complete Batman. Holy shit that was an awesome read! I couldn't put it down. The characters were so deep and the themes Frank Miller dealt with in Year One and The Dark Knight Returns were so ichonic and human that it was painful to think of the Batman character as the cartoonish superhero he's often portrayed as.

I love what Christopher Nolan has done with the last two movies, but especially with The Dark Knight. I remember back in highschool when I used to get so pissed off at other comicbook geeks that said Batman was just too boring, that they preferred X-Men or Superman. Nothing against those characters, but none of them come close to dealing with the themes of good and evil as much as Batman, especially when he faces the Joker. The best Joker stories always revolve around his desire to push Batman over the edge, to make him compromise his own morality and his own sanity.

That is the kind of story that Christopher Nolan has given us with The Dark Knight. His take on the Joker was spot on, and Heath Ledgers performance is much more than good acting. As a movie villain, Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker IMHO surpases any that has come before. Not only does he push Batman to the edge, but the ordinary citizens of Gotham City and the very people sworn to protect them. In the hands of Nolan and Ledger the Joker overshadows even Darth Vader as the ichonic villain.

The portrayal of Harvey Dent was also spot on. Aaron Eckhart did an outstanding job rbinging his inner turmoil to life. While I was initially dissapointed in Two-Face's all too brief appearance on the screen, the way that character was handled was consistent with the themes of the story and with the continium of the Nolan films, as was the ending.

The best Batman vs. Joker stories are about the polar opposites of the human soul and how small the space between them really is: Good vs Evil, Sanity vs Madness, Order vs Chaos, Grief vs Anger, Dispair vs Hope. The Two-Face character caught in the middle of them all was a brilliant addition. The Dark Knight is much more than just a superhero action/drama because it makes one question the limits of their own morality. What would drive you to cross that line, to kill someone, even at random? I mean, the ferry boat scene- Holy Crap!

I wish I knew where those other comicbook geeks from highschool were right now. I'd call them up and say, "See?? That's what I was talking about. Now do you get it?... Dumbass."
