Straife
The basis of this roleplay is for the group to be a unit so to speak, a group of trained individuals all offering a unique talent. No member may hold the same position within the group, or have a unique skill like anyone elses. The range is limited due to the balance of the game, you can for example yeild an element but not all four.

Most of the power comes from the shadow realm, the place we travel through to get across the world. Our bodies are only solid form on Earth, most of the time they are like a liquid within the shadow realm. Travelling through the domain is always done by a guide, an elder who guides groups through is often amongst the group. In most cases it is rare to have only one elder amongst the group, as this can often lead to a warped approach to the mission at hand.

Each unit is responsible for maor events taking place, ensuring that nothing stops the events. Allowing the natural balance of the world to continue, the females are often psychic in some way, with the males being more war and soldiers. However there are no snipers amongst the group, instead those rolls are carried out by a shadow ninja. There are often a fair few of these within groups, each using there unique skill to destroy there targets.

This intruiges me and I think I will join in with you on this one Straife. So do you want a profile or something? And the powers I had in mind were psychic so I its going to be female for me.

Anyways, if you need a profile I will come up with one, but count me in if you want me.

I'm in. Can overall power be upped slightly if there's severe limitations on how it can be activated or used?

The power can be vamped up, but the cost is energy from the shadow landsThis being passed through the body, will make the character feel the effect through tiredness lating a few hours.

No profiles just a name, and the unique skill will be fine.

And her powers would be the ability to manipulate dark energy to throw people with her mind, and to create small singularities to throw objects with her mind as well. Nothing big there, and if you see a problem simply tell me and I can come up with something lesser.

Has the power to use the energy around him to cause various effects by singing, playing a musical instrument, or dancing. This does include an energy power capable of stopping a high-density particle-beam attack (think something that could absorb the energy of the Macross Cannon).

I don't think breaking out an instrument or trying to sing, is very good cause in combat. BY all means feel free to use the partical cannon, but use a more conventional method of delivery such as an antique flint lock pistol.

That last one was more a shield that could block such an attack, not a weapon in and of itself. Most of his powers are meant to be similar to a bard's.

And let's have his power be that he can create a vortex of sorts, causing a vacuum around him of this dark energy, something in the effect of a "mana drain" I guess. Just throwing it out there, let me know if that'll work.

Also, I'm just going out on a limb here, you mind throwing up a bit more info on this story?

The Idea

It's a very simple twist on any timetravelling nonsense, the group who live within the shadows watch humanity move forward. At key points it intervenes as best it sees fit, for example they could have been the gun man on the grassy knoll. Making sure that humans continue along there own path, all inorder to keep there world as there own. This is there only choice as the law decrees, set long ago by the ancients to forever watch mortals and direct them.

This is where the powers come into use, pushing forward events even if it means wiping out a small nation. Some new recruits cling onto what passes for humanity when workign within them, others have simply come to realise that this is there duty. Each group will work as one, using the best it has to offer during any crisis. Once called into action they must leave the realm of shadows and take a solid form on Earth, here they move as shadows always making sure to push history away from there actions. Think Ninja but modern day.

As for key plot I'm holding out on that one, positions required are very simple.

Hmm it took me a while to decide which of my many ideas i wanted to run with but finally decided on the following.

Name: Ludwig
Power: To animate dead or lifeless objects to perform tasks that their structure allows. Like for example, he can get a car to start its engine and drive itself, how ever he can't make a table walk or a make a pair of glasses talk since its not part of their original and basic function.

and i'd like to apply as an assassin.

Very well but wouldn't telekenisis be a better weapon for one of the silent assasins?

Hmm, I have been gone for a while and apologize for that, but I would like to assume an Assassin position since I have telekinetic abilities, and I have never really played an assassin before, so it will turn out fun for me, if you will have me as such.

Power: Has the ability to see people's aura's, a detection of their 'true' self. Good (light blue), Evil (fiery red) , Neutral (warm yellow). She also can can read thoughts but not actual 'word for word' ideas, simply the emotions that go along with them. She can sense a lie, a truth, fear, doubt, etc.


Not a major powerhouse but possibly useful nonetheless =) Let me know what you think...

Though, I doubt this group only kills, I mean, I can imagine this group being responsible for saving Hitler's life as well.

You're all in on this and I'm pleased, so by tonight I'll get the plotline rolling. Anyone fancy being a leader to all of this, or shall I just assume the place in history. I'm very glad it got such a big response, expect to be up and running by later this day.

I think people would say that you should be leader, but if you really don't I have no problem assuming it and letting someone else have the assassin position that I wanted. Simply give me the word and I will do so. That is only if you do need so.

Sorry, I have been away from this thread for a bit...chaos elsewhere and all.

Ability: Psychic? Hmmm...I don't have any great ideas that just jump out on that thought, but since no one else has ventured into the idea of elemental control...I will volunteer. Earth would be my first choice and if there is an option of a two element control it would be earth/water...and not just for the vast amount of mud I would have to play with. :)

If this fits into the group dynamic, great. If not let me know (with any helpful suggestions) so that I can alter it to make the best fit.

Not sure if I would be welcomed after my LONG absence! Sorry Straife, I fell off the face of the earth and forgot I could fly.. This does seem interesting to me tho I am not sure if this is still open, but if it is let me know.

Name : Drake
Ability : To use compounds in the air and form explosive gasses, uses a smark from a item on his glove or lighter and the ability to use the Fire created as a weapon. Able to control all amounts of flame and to increase or decrease to his liking, including one of his strongest attacks is forming and making a Animal Beast of Fire to fight for him. His greatest weakness is rain or water were unable to make a spark. But is backed up with a side arm and hand to hand combat.

Not sure were I would fit in, any problems let me know I can change it up quite nicely actually, just throwing a fire dweller in there and not sure what is open to take.
