OOC:
The basic idea here is for this to be an open game, I would like for everyone to join in and create a character. There are no limits and no bio's required, all you need to do is play. You can use Out Of Character conversation within this thread, just please start the message OOC so we know to either read it or skip it if it doesn't concern us.
Please also refrain from godmodding, this is where you take control of another character for your own needs. Just like life you must wait for others to act, and if you choose an all powerful being don't be supprised if people try to avoid your character. Not everyone want to be around a god, and even fewer would like to tick them off.

The night had begun to swarm the city as the lights began to flicker into life, night life began to pour into the streets various groups each with it's own goals. This was the same for the darker side of the world, as the sun set many began to pick up where the mortals had left off. Huge gangs of vampires and sole stalkers, the werewolves made that long night journey into the city along the beech front. Various others beings began to form the que, at the only spot where all were welcome and no one could fight.
The Pulse stood on the beech front it's neon lights breaking apart the growing night, various creatures had already begun to enter here they could sell information or agree terms to long feuding families or clans. There was little else to do for many of the people, some were new and lost others old and set in there ways. As the final shimmer of day vanished the kindred of vampires began to wake and take the land, here at the club the volume got louder as the party got underway.
Inside the club three rooms gave every possible scenario, a loud and beating room full of mortals and creatures of the night. This was the first floor and for most the only room worth knowing, it offered quick acess to mortal vitae and gave the endulgance of a party. Two large columns held the DJ booth high above the ground, the face of Atlas carved into the wall as his hands held the DJ high above the crowd. Rows of lights came in from the walls, covering the people in a flashing dance of colours.
The second room offered a more reserved attitude, calmer music and gentle sounds washed over the crowd here. As each group sat amongst the leather chairs and sofas, each doing as they pleased away from Mortal eyes. Here business could be conducted with calm, each knowing that shoul violence break out they are able to rely on the clubs vast security force. Dim lighting allowed for the many to ignore bright lights, the perspex floor against the far wall let them view the mortals below.
And in the final room classical music filtered into the crowd, set areas allowed for groups to hold private conversations with a view of the beech and ocean. Here all manner of secret busines could be discussed without fear of club involvement, most of the booths cost a fair amount to hold for the evening. But if you knew about the third floor, then you could afford to have silence and peace at long last.

Jynx has been waiting outside as several people have gone into the club. Her hand brushes her short, chocolate curls from around her face. She relaxes a bit as she notices that the breeze feels as welcome in the dark as it ever did in the sun. Still, she is nervous about all of these things that wander here in the night. Just because she understands how the rules work, doesn't mean that she is not worried about screwing something up. She swallows and forces a deep breath. She closes her odd turquoise-green eyes for a moment.
"Relax. Calm down. What's the worst that can happen? After all, dying once was bad enough...", she mumbles to herself as she prepares to slip into the club. She opens her eyes and forces herself to take the first step.
Once she walks in and looks around, she smiles a little to herself... The music is loud and so are the people. The scene is something that she can enjoy as much now as she used to. Only now she knows that there are dangerous things that she must guard against. Things that she didn't know existed a few years ago. She shakes her head a little to clear out the creeping, dark thoughts that try to invade and walks to the bar.
After ordering a Guiness, she wanders to a table between the staircase and the dance floor. There she is hoping to observe as much as she can. She props her feet in the chair across from her and waits...

for Aaron, entering the club was like a punch to the nose.
His purebred werewolf senses could pick out the smells of each and every sweating body on the dancefloor. the simple act of breathing became a chore as waves of decadent human flesh gave way to pockets of stagnated vampire blood. It was a beautiful contrast if looked objectively, but it was much less charming to experience.
he moved quickly to the second floor where the atmosphere was much more tolerable. the familiar leather chairs gave a scent of rugged strength that only matured with age, the distant music of the floor below gave a pulse to the entire building, and the crackling of the fire at the back of the room gave off obscure waves of heat that cooled before anyone could realize they had warmed.
this was the kind of place where a king would handle his business.
It wasnt until he had scanned the room twice that he caught the scent of Alaras. the eyes were so untrustworthy, but his scent was unmistakable. he took a moment to compose himself before walking over to him.
"what I say to you this evening, comes from many hours of deliberation, and is not up for deliberation." It was going to be a long night.

Aaron composes himself for the words that must be spoken here and now. he was very glad that this was the place where would be done.
"Allaras, your Ideas and lack of ethics have cost my clan a great deal. but It is you yourself that has delt the greatest blows to me personally"
Aaron grabbed his own knee to try to supress the claws that were growing at the memories of the dark and sensual past that they shared.
"Whatever we had once, I cant allow it to remain." loseing control, his hands began to change. letting his emotions claim a part made it easier to stop the transformation further. he had to take a moment to regain his breath before he could continue.

"I already told you. That wasn't me. I DO have ethics, as unlikely as it sounds, and I am not the one who caused such terrible losses. I'm trying to find that person myself, and was hoping to ask you for help. I understand why you'd be angry at me, and it is sort of my fault that this happened, because I didn't know what that bastard really was. Not even a psychic human like myself can identify his kind immediately, and I took him for a lost member of your clan, not a blood traitor. If you will let me, I will do whatever it takes to avenge your loss. His name is Kurain. He frequents this club rather often, and is a part-owner as well. I heard he'd be here tonight, which is why I insisted on it for this meeting. With club security, it'll be impossible to use hand-to-hand combat, but they don't have the means to stop a psychic from knocking out a guest and blaming it on the booze. Just in case, I paid off the bartender to spike his drinks with extra grain alcohol. We'll play the good friends giving him a ride home, and make him disappear once we get him out of town. Nobody heard what I just said, and hopefully, we can still remain friends and lovers after all of it is finished."

The mentioning of their physical relationship made Aaron's blood boil. the leather of his shoes pulled tight against the claws growing within, another victory to rage. but his demeanor had to remain Icy cold if he wanted to avoid security problems.
"we'll not be part of your schemes anymore Alaras. Whatever there was between me and you no longer exists. And the only business you have with my clan anymore is the bounty on your head."
the more he talked, the easier it got to keep himself back.
Alaras
Jul 27 2008, 07:30 PM
"What schemes? The only scheme I had was to be at your side, and now this one to avenge your fallen clan. That's all. I only wish that nobody had suffered because of my foolish hopes. It is unfortunate. I still love you, even if you think I was using you. Just remember, I wasn't the one using you. We were both nothing more than unwilling pawns. When all this is over, I'll let you collect my bounty without a fight, if you still wish to do so."

Just by watching the way that they came down the stairs, Jynx knew that there was something brewing. To her, Aaron almost seemes to be storming down the stairs as he marches to the bar. She watches as Alaras follows shortly after and approaches Aaron. She sits there wonderng if she should get close enough to hear a snippet of what is passing between them, just so she'll know exactly how far away she might prefer to be. Emotions were running high and body language said that if something went wrong, it was going to be ugly. There are a few words that pass between them. Aaron slams down a glass and turning from the bar, stares right at her...

Frustrated at this werewolf he fell in love with, he refused to give up on making amends if possible. He walked over and tapped his shoulder again, then said "I just want to make things right, and you know suicide's impossible for me. I know I've caused you unimaginable pain, and I want to make it right. Since I can't die by my own hand and you won't take me to my rightful execution, just tell me what I can do, even if it won't be enough, to start making things right for the future."

Aarons smile was smooth as he set the drinks down at the table with the girl. but he hadn't made it fully in his seat before Alaras had come back.
Alaras' words were gasoline to the fire, and intolerable sentence followed by an impossible request. in the end, his feral side won.
Aarons arm went ware, and as his head began to follow suite, he jammed his claws into the table, knocking over the drinks it held. His other hand grabbed Alaras' shirt and nearly lifted him up by it.
"There Is no right, because we have no future." his arm changed, even as it held Alaras, his claws piercing the fabric as they grew.
"What we were Is already dead. and whatever your future holds, I wont be part of it. If you have any shred of respect left for me, leave me in peace."
his last sentence was slurred. wolf lips were not designed to make human words. he let go of Alaras as he changed back, waving off the security that had started walking this way.

Jynx felt a shiver run through her as Aaron placed two glasses on the table in front of her. His smile warm, but with that hint of danger. As he started to sit across from her, she moved her feet from the chair. Alaras's words and the ensuing situation confirmed her earlier suspision that anything that happened between these two was going to be ugly. When Aaron began his change, she stood up from her seat and took a few steps back. She heard the exchange between the two and waits to see what will happen next...

with his emotions back under control, Aaron spoke with much more clarity to his voice.
"you don't need to atone for anything. you just need to move on." "no show of death or ploys to make things right is going to change things, just cut your losses, and keep going in life."
aaron looked at the mess on the table, and the girl now backed away.
"I'm dreadfully sorry, but old memories die with a vengeance. I'll be happy to buy another round, but please sit."
his past relations with people usually showed him that people didnt come back after seeing a show like that, but he had to offer.

Her mind was racing with so many thoughts. The one that jumped to the front, other than the display that she had just witnessed, was that if she was ever going to learn to navigate the nighttime societies, she had to start somewhere. And sitting down to have a drink with Aaron might be a way to do it.
She smiles, nods and pulls her chair back up to the table. This was going to be an interesting experience.
"I'll get this round, if you'll get the next one and I'll get someone to clean up the table..." she says as she wanders to the bar to give him a couple of moments to regain his bearings.
After sending a waitress over to clean up the table, Jynx brings back a couple of drinks to replace the ones that had spilled across the table. She sets one down in front of Aaron and slides the other closer to her spot.
"So, tell me a little about yourself..."

"You were my happiness, and I tried so hard to be yours. If I can no longer be that for you, then I'll just remove myself. I'll make sure the bounty is given to you. He then started to walk towards the door, to act on his words.

Alaras' words were droll and depressing tonight. not surprising.
"excuse me for a moment" Aaron said to the young woman who's drink he had earlier overturned
he caught back up to Alaras quickly, and had him by the shoulder
"you know I wouldn't know what to do with money, and i'd die of guilt if they even gave it to me. now, I think it would work best if we both just got drunk and forgot the past for the night."
he did regret leaving the girl sitting alone. but alaras' lack of self worth could grind sore spots on your mind.

Vaslynn had cleared the sopping table with the last of the bar rags and was now wringing it out behind the bar with a little more force than was strictly necessary. Goddamn idiots, she thought. You'd think they'd have a little more...finesse.
Working in The Pulse was possibly the worst job she'd ever had. The thumping music left her deaf for days after a shift, nobody ever thanked her or tipped her, and since she doubled as cleaner the congealed blood pools of floor three were really starting to irritate her. Not to mention the amount of times she'd ended up helping 'wastage' disappear: fortunately for that there was a specialised pipe that would carry any evidence left by a careless patron out to sea, to be washed up god knows where.
The clientele were becoming careless. At one time The Pulse had kept its secrets well. It had been exclusive, highly respected amongst all clans - there was once a time when you would never see a confrontation between members. But that time seemed to be passing, and Vaslynn was already formulating an escape plan.
She noticed the girl with her feet on the silk-lined cushions. This was a particular pet hate. She made her way over to the girl, to remind her of the rules.

Looking at Aaron's vexed face, Alaras excused himself quietly and headed for the third floor, where someone else had asked him to wait. Such was love, though, and he could only live with the consequences...

Jason fumbled in his pockets for floating bills. 5. 6,7. 12. $15. That's it. He handed the man at the door the crumpled mess of cash and pushed past him into the front lobby, yanking his messenger bag through the tangle of people, slowly weaving his way to a table near the stares. He looks around as he sits and notices a woman sitting on the other side of the same staircase.

Vaslynn had never seen this girl before, which arose her suspicion. You had to be careful what you said to these people, just in case they were infiltrators.
"New here, huh? Welcome to The Pulse. If you'd let me know you were new I would have arranged for a meeter/greeter. Guess you'll have to make do with me. This is a pretty exclusive place. We have historical artefacts here. The seats on which you are now sitting are from a batch originally designed for the Titanic, so I respectfully ask you not to soil them."
She flashed a diplomatic smile, and waited to see if the girl had any questions.

Aug 6 2008, 01:16 PM
Jynx sighed as Vaslynn launches into her speech. She removes her feet from the chair across from her.
"Sorry, I didn't know." she says, shrugging her shoulders. She picks up her drink as she looks at the girl standing in front of her.
"Greeters? Never heard that one before." She finishes her drink and sets the glass down. She pushes out the chair that she had been using as a footstool and waves her hand invitation for Vaslynn to sit if she wishes.
Of course, she hadn't heard much about this place before, just the name and that it was a place for a lot of different types of beings to meet and do business or whatever they wanted to do. Jynx was figuring it was not only a place where she could get used to the way this nocturnal world worked, but maybe she could finally track down the one that had cursed her to this existance. She had been looking for him for the last few weeks, since she arose one evening to find herself completely on her own and at a loss of what she should do. Actually, she was at a loss over the whole damned thing...

While waiting on the third floor, Alaras's cell phone received a text message saying that the meeting was canceled. With nothing else to do, he went downstairs to see what the new girl was doing, and considered getting a drink despite his better judgment. Upon seeing the barkeep scolding her, he knew she was going to divulge some valuable information, and focused his remote listening talents on picking up that conversation to the exclusion of much else.

Vaslynn sat down by the girl.
"Okay, well here's what NOT to do. Don't ask for a pass to the private areas. You have to be invited by a regular to make the guestlist. Don't start any fights. With most of our clients you're guaranteed to lose. Don't bring any guests with you. It's one in, one out - no groups. Yeah there's other stuff as well but here's the most important..."
She thumb-gestured over her shoulder to the bar where a stocky guy stood alone. The guy was a small giant clad in a long leather coat, bald head, with shades. On the edge of the shades blinked an LED light - obviously these weren't the kind of eyewear anyone could buy.
"See that guy? That's Anthony. Anthony Kurain. I ain't sayin too much but he's respected and protected. You won't see him that often but you do NOT want to piss him off."
Vaslynn scooped up the empty glasses nearby and got up to go.
"Don't mind me saying this, but you seem kind of naive. Keep your wits about you. One last thing. You have any kind of trouble, you come to the bar and order a glass of Feteasca Alba - you got that? Feteasca Alba. It's pretty 'strong'."
She could hear a muted roar coming from the dancefloor. Possibly not good news...the last time the crowd made a sound like that it was because they were about to dismember the DJ...
"I gotta go. Enjoy The Pulse!"

His eyes followed the bar girl as she rushed toward the dance floor, after glancing again at the woman across the way. Jason was no regular at the pulse, but this woman seemed almost out of place in the chaotic, anti-classy vogueishness of the city's only all creature club. Somehow too soft yet daring.
He maintained his attention on the crowd, though. this could break his dry spell. Jason hated it when he had to do this for work, he felt like an ambulance chasing vulture, but times were just too slow. As the crowded dance floor began to quiver in violent excitement, he removed a small stack of business cards from the inside pocket of his black woolen sports coat and, flexing them between his thumb and middle finger shot the entire stack out over the heads of the disgruntled dancers. He preferred more respectable clienttel, but beggers can't be choosers.
Reluctantly reaching into his back pocket and digging out his wallet, Jason removed his last $100 bill and tried to flag down one of the wait staff. Tonight was a good night for good whiskey. As he waited for someone to come fill his order he watched as one or two dancers at the edge of the floor picked up and read the inscription on some of the cards he had just tossed out:

Jynx continues to sit and watch as Vaslynn ran towards the dance floor.
Naive? Of course she is a bit naive. If you were created and then abandoned shortly after, with only the barest hint of what the hell was going on, then you might be a bit naive too! But she would remember the advice.
She watched as someone nearby launched a shower of cards into the air and then flagged down one of the waitresses. Aaron had come back inside and Alaras had walked back to the bar as well. Maybe the night wasn't going to be a complete waste of time after all.

Finally a waitress with a shaven head and too much makeup stepped up to Jason and listened politely to his order. At least on the first floor, it wasn't the sort of place that was used to customers ordering a double scotch, no ice, as they lit a Pal Mal and confidently handing over a $100 bill to pay. When he received a tumbler filled with the tea colored liquor and his change he dropped the ones on the table as a tip, stuffed the rest in the small pocket of his black jeans where he kept his old pocket watch, and pulled his tie completely off as he leaned back with his cigarette hanging from the corner of his lips.
Through the smoke he let curl out of his lungs, he looked over at the woman on the other side of the staircase again. She was too out of place here. She looked as though she was looking for someone but not sure who.
'Well you don't come to the Pulse looking for someone unless there's something big going on' he thought to himself. 'Lets go find out.'
He approached her openly with his bag in one hand, cigarette and whiskey in the other. "You've been sitting alone by the stairs longer than I have it looks like." He smiled awkwardly as he shouted over the music. "Waiting for someone?"

She was the one person where everyone seemed to be gathering. Usually she wouldn't complain about it, but this was making her evening rather difficult. She looked up as another stranger walks to her table.
"Yes, actually I am waiting for someone." she says over the sounds around her. "Why?"
She is not really in the mood to discuss details with every wandering stranger, but maybe one of them would pass on a tidbit that would allow her to find that SOB she was looking for. A personal score to settle if there ever was one...
She looks at the newcomer and waits for his response.

He let his smile lessen some, noticing that she wasn't returning it.

Sitting back in her chair as she waits for the drink to appear, she begins. "So, you're here now and then? Okay, I am looking for a man that comes here every once in a while. He looks to be in his late 30s. He is about 6'2" maybe about 6'3" and built fairly well. I guess that he weighs around 230, maybe a bit more. He has golden blond hair and dark brown eyes. Likes to wear expensive, hand made suits and has a limo that he goes everywhere in. His name is Gabriel Creighton." she waits for all of that information to sink into Jason's mind.
"So, do you know of him and have you seen him?"
Alaras

Alaras noticed that Kurain was still in the building, and canceled his drink order, replacing it with a Feteasca Alba. He then used his psychic talents to make it look as though Kurain passed out from too much booze. "Mr. Kurain?! Clear the way! I'm a trained paramedic!" As the floor cleared out, he checked the man's airway, and he was breathing, of course. "No time for an ambulance! I'll get him to the hospital!" He slung the man on his back and ran to the car, whispering to Aaron on the way "The rest is up to you!" He put Kurain in his car, unimpeded by security (they never did seem too bright), and drove him to the edge of a cliff about five minutes away, and threw him over the edge. As he watched the unconscious body get torn apart by repeated impacts before falling into the ocean, with nobody even remotely closeby, he headed back to his car, and drove back to The Pulse for the cover-up. "So, how's that Feteasca Alba coming?"
