Chapter 1 : "Garbage Man"

Sunset City, a city full of crime... A complete opposite of paradise this city is full of scumbags, junkies, thieves, rapists, murderers, con artists, You name it. At exactly 12:03 am a murder took place at some kind of whorehouse, a brothel, if you will. A white male with a shaved head stood 6'2 and weighed about 185 lbs walked on in. He entered dressed in a Black silky wind breaker (with a white t-shirt under it), black khaki pants and black shoes... He walked into a room as he sat on the bed waiting for a prostitute. Finally a prostitute came in to tend to her customer, all that make-up on, dressed all...sexy? She took off her clothes and approached the customer she tried to touch him but he drew his hands up and firmly grasped her hands. He gently moved her hands away from his body.

"Hey, whats your problem?" she asked out of a harsh tone, it was not like she was scared of him, she just didn't understand it. Most men would pull their pants down without hesitation but this man was different, so different that it would frighten this girl. He said nothing as his piercing brown eyes stared into hers. "I guess you don't like to talk either, not like I give a shit" she said in a sarcastic tone.

The man just gazed deep at this prostitute, looking at how young she was. She didn't even look 18...more like 16. The prostitute started to get a little nervous so she began to panic, "Boss!" she called out in a loud enough voice. A black man, dressed in fancy clothes that consisted of a purple suit with pink cufflinks (having a pink collar and shirt underneath) came in barging through the door. He had a very nasty look on his face, after his call was interrupted from manhandling another whore. He was about to beat the shit out of her because she apparently wasn't bringing in enough money from the street, this man must have been the pimp.

The young prostitute he was about to give a beating to also looked very young, he heard the voice call out to him and then he let go of the girl. He came storming into the room to solve this problem, the customer looked at the door and saw the pimp just barge on in. The minute the pimp came in through that door he grabbed the customer by the shirt to pull him up to his level and then hit him a few times and then dragged the customer all the way out into the alley. The customer drew out a pistol from the back of his pants and shot off one of the pimps's ears, he apparently missed the target he was aiming at. The pimp started screaming and cursing in agony while blood was spewing as his hand that covered up the absent ear was soaking in blood.

As the pimp trotted and fell allover the alley, backing up while trying to get away from the man that caught him off guard, the pimp fell over a garbage can and onto the concrete as he reached into his jacket and tried to pull out a gun of his own. The man shot the pimp again, this time in the kneecap; He purposely aimed for that spot this time, the pimp screamed and cursed some more as the pain couldn't get any worse as the customer just let him lay there in pain some more for a minute or two. He shot him in the chest finally to shut him up, killing him.

The prostitutes were still screaming the top of their lungs as this man just murdered this pimp in cold blood. He then put his pistol away and reached into his black windbreaker. He pulled out a pair of black gloves and put them on before searching the pimp's fresh corpse for something. The mysterious stranger found a wallet and then took the money out and dropped the wallet, that way when the police find him they can just say he was shot and mugged by street urchins.

Nathaniel Johnson, a 24 year old pimp. He kidnapped young girls off the streets and then forced them into prostitution. How could 'John Doe' know that? Its quite simple, He watched Johnson come out of his car and approach a teenage girl on the street, she was crying since she ran away from home. The pimp tried to be calm and coax her into coming with him, promising her a warm shelter and a better life, But she said no. Johnson became furious and hit the girl then dragged her by her hair into his car giving her a few good slaps along the way. John Doe witnessed the kidnapping through a chain linked fence in an alley before dissapearing into darkness.

In a few years these girls may have children of their own. It is good to know that she cleaned herself up and that she made a better life for herself, but since it was against their will it is difficult to distinguish if they should even deserve to have something rewarding as that. But to know that your mother was once a whore? Honestly, no...they don't deserve respect because they also lowered themselves to the lowest form of a life that is worse than a rat. Just because they cleaned up their act doesn't mean they should feel that society owes them something. Telling their kids that they had a hard life, to compare themselves to how bad their rebellious teens life that he/she claims it is. That is something you can say a big "fuck you" to, they did it to themselves, and no matter how hard they try to keep themselves clean, they can't wash away the filth that they are smothered in that they caused to themselves.

John Doe took the subway home to his apartment, the complex was very poor. And the title was not as honest as it tried to be: "Heaven Nights" is what it was called. John Doe was no longer called John Doe when he went up one flight of stairs in his apartment his name was Coby Matthews. A 26 year old Security Guard who works at a hospital during the day, but Shakespear once made a quote in one of his plays about how everyone wears a mask. Coby opened his kitchen window over the sink before lighting a match. And then lighting the money he took from Nathaniel on fire.

Coby stood there and watched that money burn to dust in the sink, this money was dirty money, filthy money, take your pick. This money was the essential root of the crime, Money can bring people to do bad things, it can change people to become snakes. Coby on the other hand, is different. If he can burn money that was over Five grand in the sink and stare at it without any form of restraint, then who knows what else he's capable of. That's what you call a Mongoose.

Chapter 2: "Heard But Not Seen"

The next morning, Coby awoke turning off his alarm clock. He got out of bed wearing only his white boxer shorts as he went into the bathroom to brush his teeth. He looked in the mirror just like any other man would getting up in the morning. And judging by his face, probably not even showing remorse about the events that took place last night. He just let it slide right off his conscience. The image staring back at him in the mirror was a man with not a strand of hair on his head or face except for his eyebrows, his arm hairs and chest were completely shaved as well.

The reason why he kept it this way is because sometimes a strand of hair can land on his victims, and the forensic experts can trace his DNA back to him. Coby always wore a jacket to work so that way nobody at the hospital could judge him by looking at his hairless arms. Coby ran the water in the shower as he scrubbed down his body with a bar of soap. Coby was no grieving Ex-Cop named Frank Castle who thrives on killing organized gangs as vengence to his family, because he never had a wife and he had no kids. He wasn't a Millionare named Bruce Wayne who leads a double-life as a crime fighter that uses many different styles of karate and dresses in a fancy black cloak ever since his parents were shot and killed infront of him as a child because he never had any parents to begin with.

He was just some citizen of Sunset City that was sick of all the parasites increasing and growing. Any policeman will say that you cannot take the law into your own hands. Any prosecutor will say you cannot take the law into your own hands. Any Judge will say you cannot take the law into your own hands. And even your defense attorney will say you cannot take the law into your own hands. But you know what? that doesn't apply here in Sunset City because the police also work with the scum of the streets. Taking bribes, arresting and framing innocent men, the police have also used brutality many times more than anyone could count, Coby saw this almost every night when coming home from work. You know how your parents would always tell you "If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself"? or "It's a filthy job, but somebody has to do it"? Yeah well, Coby never had any parents to tell him that.

He grew up in an orphanage upstate and lived there since he was an infant. Despite the fact that it was a catholic orphanage, Coby was never really a religious boy. When the priest gave him a bible after being released from the orphanariam he tossed it right into the gutter that lead to the sewer when he walked a few blocks away, the lord works in mysterious ways. That's what any servant to the so-called lord would tell you. But even the big "bully in the sky" wouldn't allow a city to be this corrupt.

Coby stepped out of the shower and dried himself off from his bald head to toe before getting dressed into his Security Guard uniform. He walked outside his apartment and down the hall to the stairs while pulling up his jacket. He saw two men transporting a piano up the stairs, he had no choice but to just wait until they came up so he could get by. A young asian woman struggled to the front entrance door, she heard some of the keys on the piano so she followed the sound.

Coby watched from atop the stairs as the two men carried that piano up the stairs he saw that woman not too far behind, she looked to be about 25 and was wearing an average black skirt with a white hooded sweater that was unzipped, possibly purchased from GAP. She had short black hair and it still moved but it was too short to be pulled into a ponytail. Her hair was trimmed similar to the Japanese Actress Ryoko Hirosue. She was holding onto the rail of the stairs so she could climb up. "There is something a little odd about her" was what Coby's facial expression said.

Just the thought of getting her new piano brought a smile to her face. She loved hearing the the sounds that the piano made. She suddenly felt this vibe that someone was watching her. The movers made their way to the top of the stairs as hard as they struggled to get up there. The woman didn't notice the last step on top, she tripped and fell, but out of nowhere, she felt someone's warmth and arms around her. The arms pulled her up to help her regain her balance. One of the men turned around to see what happened.

"Maam are you alright?" one of the workers asked out of concern for others when they were too busy trying to get that heavy instrument up them strairs. She nodded her head showing that she was alright. She nudged away from the arms that held her so tight. "Thank you sir for saving her" Coby nodded to the men before going down the stairs to go to work. Coby sat down in the security staff room to watch the news. He knew what it was going to say he wasn't watching out of admiration to view his review of his "work". Because he isn't some serial killer. On the other hand, his co-workers have always thought of him as an oddball or they did do some gossiping about him. That never bothered Coby though, he grew up in an orphanage he was used to the talking.

Meanwhile, that asian woman Coby had saved earlier was trying out her new piano. She sat there enjoying a melody that she was playing. It was night time as he left work and came home he walked down the hallway and got ready to open the door when he saw that across from his apartment the door was open, could that strange woman have moved in across the hall?

He felt he should mind his own business but he looked from the doorway anyway, she was his new neighbor. He saw that same woman unpacking her things. There really wasn't anything strange about this woman, she was just blind. But of course he didn't realise that. Suddenly, that vibe had returned, she turned around. Her slanted dark eyes were staring straight at Coby. "Is someone there?" she asked out of fear or to maybe tell the person that they don't need to be shy. Coby was suprised he held up his hands trying to show her that he was sorry for intruding, he panicked and just took off into his apartment. Leaving the blind asian woman waiting awhile for an answer... All she heard was silence. she shrugged her shoulders and struggled to find her way back to her boxes of clothing.

The next night Coby parked his Black 1988 GMC vandura while following a white man wearing a tan trenchcoat and blonde hair. He hardly ever drove his vehicle since he often rode the train to save gas and to just get some exercise, but he usually only drove his own vehicle when he really needed to, just like in cases like this. He locked his doors as he began to follow his prey, Coby usually brought a weapon with him he would withdraw it from the back of his van. That was where he carried his "tools" for work. Coby continued on pursueing his prey but kept his distance as to make sure his target wasn't being followed Coby followed "the mouse" down a sidewalk and slowly gained on him. Coby had no weapon, so what was he going to do? Coby pulled on his black gloves yet again as he came even closer to his prey. He placed his hand on the shoulder of his prey and expected him to turn around and strike first, just like a snake would if you came close enough to touch it.

He turned the man around and he threw a punch at him. Coby did get hit in the face but he struck the man back and continued hitting him. Coby's rage surfaced and it gave him the strength to repeatedly attack. Coby picked up his target and hung him over the bridge by his legs, this man was screaming the top of his lungs being that he was at such a height. Coby just coldy stared at him and then within a matter of seconds he just coldly released his grip, as he just watched him fall from the overpass to his death. The man's weight made a massive fall, the impact had completely busted his skull. The brains blood stained the pavement. Coby made his way all the way back to his black GMC as he inserted his key in the ignition to start it up and just drove home.

Jason Grant, 25, this man was quite the casanova... He used his charming good looks on beautiful women to lure them into 'deathtrap'. He picked up women at bars, and then once he had them in his car, he drove them to his apartment and chained them up. He beat them, brutally sodomized them, and then raped them. Coby saw it happen as he was standing on a street corner he knew that this man was a sicko. So Coby hopped into his black GMC and followed them to his chambers. He followed them all the way up to Grant's apartment and Coby listened to the sounds of moaning but he knew those sounds of agonizing pain from anywhere. It was quite obvious that Grant was doing his dirty work.

Coby made it back to his apartment, the halls were so quiet mainly because of the time of night. So peaceful, he pulled out his keys from his pocket and then inserted them into the key hole to open his apartment when suddenly... A door opened behind him. "Were you the one who saved me the other day?" a voice of a woman asked him. He froze and then turned around with a calm look on his face. It was that same asian woman with those strange eyes. She was wearing a grey warm up suit. He looked at her truthfully because something told him that he could not lie to her strange eyes "Yes..." he responded in a calm normal tone as if her eyes saw straight through him. It's not like she was really an undercover CIA agent to spy on him, Coby's 'crimes' (as any law enforcement would call them) were not high enough for that. A smile grew on her face, "Thank you for doing such a good deed" she said "If you don't mind, I have dinner made for two but my friend cancelled on me, so I was wondering if you're not doing anything that if you would join me it's the least I could do since you saved me from a nasty fall and all" she added. Smiling to show him that she was very friendly. "....Ok" Coby replied.

She opened her door wider for Coby to fit through, inviting him into her home as she turned away and started to touch the wall to find her way to the dinner table. She made it to her seat and then sat down. Coby scanned the apartment seeing that she just got moved in, everything is in place. He closed the door for her before making his way to the table to sit down. He examined the food she cooked but he just can't take his eyes off of hers, seeing how they are not focused, has he still not realized that she's blind?

Just out of curiosity he waved his hand infront of her face just because to him her eyes appeared to be staring at him. She felt a breeze swaying on her hair and face. "Is something wrong ?" She asked as Coby's eyes buldged, he blinked as he prevented himself from panicking "...No" he said with a reply. Coby began to eat the food she made but she couldn't stand the silence, so she decided to introduce herself "By the way, I'm Lina, whats your name ?" she asked out of kindness. "....Coby" he replied.

Lina Trang, a 25-year-old Asian-American pianist, the youngest of 4 siblings and daughter of Vietnamese-Immigrants.

"Nice to meet you Coby, where do you work? " she asked. "The Hospital..." Coby replied "Oh, are you a doctor?" she said putting her hands under her chin and her elbows on the dinner table showing that she was interested. "Ummm... no I'm a security guard" he replied with an honest tone (as if telling her '"Sorry to dissapoint you"' kind of tone).

"Oh a security guard. So is it hard being a security guard ?" she asked out of curiosity. "Not really" he replied. "Oh yeah I should know I've been in and out of hospitals, as you can tell I'm blind. My mother and father have been trying to find ways to help, doctors have been trying to cure me, but yet no luck" She said with a calm look on her face but she's still smiling. Coby looked up, he kind of tilted his head but he gave her a blank look as in there's no way of telling what he was thinking. But he tried to show her he's listening he just didn't know what to say about it. "I've lived my life without seeing how the world looks like, how beautiful the sunrise and sunsets are. It's sometimes very painful to know that I can't see where I am, what neighborhood I live in, and how a person looks like".

Coby listened to every word she said still trying to show her that he was listening. He looked like he had no feelings but he did inside he couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Continued to eat he silently slurped the spaghetti Lina cooked, for a blind woman she cooked it just fine. Could someone whose blind really cook something this good? Lina continued to tell her life story, she is a pianist and the only reason she really moved away is to get away from her parents. It was not like she was being treated badly by them. She just didn't want to spend the rest of her life relying on everyone else and of course being the only instrumentalist in her orchestra that was still living with her parents. They resented the fact that she was moving out because they were afraid she just couldn't survive on her own both her parents and her 3 older sisters. But in the United States Of America when someone is over the age of 18 you can't legally keep them on lock-down.

Bravo, Ryo. AMAZING opening and an AMAZING line, "...it can change people to become snakes. Coby on the other hand, is different. If he can burn money that was over Five grand in the sink and stare at it without any form of restraint, then who knows what else he's capable of. That's what you call a Mongoose." This truly is a great story, I still can't believe it took me so long to read it.

Chapter 3: "Parasites"

In more or less than 3 weeks from now, the police will kick down the door to Grant's apartment and find a dead woman that has been mutilated. Her leg was sliced off and she just bled to death. What would have happened if Coby had barged on in? Of course Coby would kill that sick bastard on the spot, but then the woman would see him do it. And Coby would be finished, charged with murder and everything, surely he did feel pity for the woman, like he hasn't already but you see. If he knew how to breaK into the door he would wait for the man to come into the living room and then kill him. But how would Coby be able to escape? down the ladder on the fire escape? Surely he could just walk on out of the complex the ordinary way, he would have been spotted and possibly his description would be given to the police. But the SCPD will discover that Grant was a sadomasachist that tortured, raped, and killed women and that somebody had killed him for his crimes because nothing in his apartment looked to be stolen.

Coby got up the next morning and did his routine: shaving his head, his arms, and chest as usual before getting dressed in his security guard uniform and going to work. He listened to Lina play the piano as he walked down the hallway and down the stairs through the main enterance and then walked down the sidewalk. Deep inside he had enjoyed having dinner with Lina, she was quite interesting to him. In a way they were almost the same, alone most of their lives; He grew up in an orphanage while she grew up with very little friends being that she was blind. She had been teased at school growing up because other kids didn't understand, but what she had was atleast her older sister's to stand up for her and to have a shoulder to cry on.

Coby on the other hand was bullied at the orphanage he grew up in. No other children could be worse than the ones growing up in an orphanage. They are so full of hate that they take it out on weaker kids, they were angry because their parents had abandoned them or the fact that they didn't understand what its like to have that kind of guidence in life, so Coby was that kind of target, he was a punching bag or perhaps a stress remover to them. This stress remover once had a head of brown hair and a black eye and bleeding nose, the bully named Jermiah Lewis, 10 years of age, was taller and had red hair and brown eyes, had pinned Coby against the wall, Coby already was so tired of being tormented that if he took anymore damage he could possibly have some permanent injuries. Coby's rage then took effect and then with all his might pushed Jermiah forward and over the rail Jermiah tumbled. Jermiah fell off the second floor and broke his neck once he hit the floor.

That was his first victim, another day at the orphanage in the cafeteria Coby took one look at Jermiah's goons and attacked them on the spot with a steel lunch tray. One had a broken nose while the other one had a few good scratches on his face from the corners of the tray possibly by now they could be scars. He then got ontop of one of them and started to choke them with his bare hands he wanted to kill him. After all the suffering those kids did to him he wanted to kill them and he would have too if he wasn't pulled off. In reality, do you really believe nobody is truly pure evil? They just had a hard life and ended up that way? Any verterinarian will tell you that mean dogs are not born they're made. Coby didn't become that way, infact he just became anti-social and quiet because of all that torment in the orphanage. Who cares if Coby was charged with manslaughter or assault at such a young age. He was an orphan, nobody would care in this fuckin' city.

Maybe one day he could open up to Lina, perhaps he had found a friend he could talk to. Coby sat on the subway on his way to work as all of this ran through his mind. It is true that every killer thinks about their first victim while they are in the process of killing their current victim. In his case, Coby always thought of that bastard kid, Jermiah. He wasn't sorry for what he had done (despite the fact he was only nine years old), Jermiah was a bastard, a real bastard! He would always beat him until he was half dead all because he was smaller and weaker than him.

Despite the fact that Coby was alone most of his life, he hadn't developed Schizophrenia, Multiple Personality Disorder, Bi Polar syndrome (from the bullying), or any other form of severe mental problems; That would would be a miracle in anyone's eyes that went through what Coby was put through. Maybe one day Coby might tell Lina about this, but then again who would want a man that kills people? Caril-Ann Fugate loved Charles Starkweather up until the police caught up with them and then she just sold him out. They were no Bonnie and Clyde but they did make the state of Nebraska famous for their crimes. And already 3 different movies have been made about them and atleast 6 others were inspired by them.

Coby had this tingly feeling inside since he met Lina, supposebly he was happy that he found a friend, someone he could talk to or maybe not. He kept pondering this thought as he stepped off the train, out of the subway, and on his way to work. As usual, it was just another day at the hospital for Coby. The day went by like any other day, of course the fellow Security guards were talking about him behind his back because they always thought he was strange. He was indeed very different from any other normal citizen of Sunset City, but not exactly 'over the line'.

The streets were desolate, in this part of The City at night. the allies were so dark and filled with trash, news papers and even cardboard boxes that the homeless live in. But in this particular alleyway its completely deserted, with only trash cans and newspapers to keep it company. Not even rats or cockroaches occupy this space. A tall hispanic male with brown eyes, came walking through this alley; he wore a black snowcap, a black hoodie, fancy "hip" black jeans, and fancy black sneakers. He was carrying a crowbar with a facial expression of violence on his goatee'd face.

Coby came into the alley from another entryway, he wore his trademark black nike jacket with black gloves, khakis and black shoes. He followed the taller man down the alley as he began to close in on him. So far the hispanic man hadn't turned around to strike yet like Grant did. Coby opened a plastic bag he had been carrying and then as fast as he could, pulled the bag over the head of his prey. Coby was successful in bagging the head, unfortunately the man was bigger than him. Coby Kicked the back of one leg to bring him down. Coby, with his rage taking affect began to bang his head against the wall a few times but then the victim struck back and elbowed Coby in the stomach he turned around with a follow up with a punch to the jaw, sending Coby back into two steel garbage cans. Suddenly the rage within Coby arose, and he saw Jermiah allover again.

When the Mongoose attacks the snake, the first attack is mostly never fatal; in this case, Coby is the Mongoose. Coby's prey took the plastic bag off his face and then came walking toward him with a face full of anger and violence. This is where the Snake would raise his head up high showing that his defense is up. As the taller hispanic man approached the fallen vigilante, Coby sprang up and grabbed the man by his genitals and squeezed them with all his might, twisting them as the animosity flowed through his fingers; When a Snake gets close enough to strike the Mongoose, the Mongoose 9 times out of 10 will dodge and counter. The hispanic man screamed in pain as Coby's grip tightened, his rage supported the violent grip.

With all his might, he grabbed the hispanic man with the other hand by the sweater and threw him to the ground at the same time of letting go of his genitals. The hispanic male didn't go completely down but he did go down on all fours, Coby pulled out a switchblade and leaped on the back of his future victim. with enough animosity mating with rage he wrapped both arms around the hispanic man's neck and within seconds Coby's arms flew outward, as far as they could reach, like a bald Eagle preparing to take flight into the sky. The Hispanic fell to the ground holding his throat as the blood began to bleed uncontrollably within a matter of seconds Coby could add another victim to his collection in a display case built inside his mind. Coby then lifted up the fresh corpse from under his arms and then dragged him to a nearby dumpster. Coby opened the dumpster and lifted the corpse into it with all his might as he threw his legs in before closing the shaft, a Garbage truck will come by and pick him up and then he will dissapear forever.

(A mongoose will try and bite at the Snake's neck right next to the head, because his fangs are sharp enough to prevent the snake from moving. The Mongoose can strike at the Snake's neck if he's lucky enough for a no doubt victory as he keeps his fangs sunk into the flesh as the Snake will stop moving, but that rarely happens because a Snake usually always raises his head when threatened.)

Angel Cortez, a 23 year old Puerto Rican-American who liked to break into people's cars and pry out stereos and whatever contents that's valuble inside the vehicle. If there is anybody in the car he would assault them with that crowbar he often carries around. Coby watched that act go down, he watched Cortez break into a car, Coby wouldn't know what model because he wasn't a car expert. He watched Cortez pull a man out of the car and then assault him with that crowbar, that poor man was screaming in pain, his knee caps have been battered. Coby stood by and did nothing, once again if Coby was scene doing what he does then that would be end of "The Mongoose". Cortez pryed out that car stereo before taking off, Coby once again dissapeared into the night. That victim may or may not be a cripple, but he knew Cortez enjoyed putting that man through pain.

On second thought, Coby probably wouldn't care to keep anything of his victims. Coby was not a serial killer because a Serial killer always keeps something that belonged to each of his victims so he could play it back over and over again in his mind, in other words the display case inside Coby's head never existed. He wasn't a crime fighter either because crime fighters prevent a crime from happening, Coby didn't prevent them from happening he just stopped it, just pulled the plug on the criminal so that they don't hurt another person again so Coby is what you call a vigilante. vigilantes are like a relative that was cut-off from the family and meant to never come back. Police Officers don't arrest vigilantes because their acts involve murder, assault, or the fact that you're doing bodily harm to someone. Its the fact that they are jealous that vigilantes do it and they can't, but in Sunset City, they want to arrest vigilantes because they are foiling their "business".

Coby once again rode on the subway home he leaned his head back on the window as his eyes stared up at the white lights on the ceiling as the train was soaring down the railroad tracks, passing the white lights in the tunnel. His gloves were taken off as to avoid looking suspicious. The subway train stopped as he descended off of it reaching his stop, he once again walked down the block and made it back to Heaven Nights, that apartment he lived to rest up for the night, he walked down the hallway as he once again heard piano music through the hall. Lina was apparently practicing her melodies on the keys must be some big day coming up. Coby reached his door as he inserted the key into the lock to open the door when suddenly the piano music stopped playing when across the hall the door on the opposite side opened and once again Lina caught him. "What could have been on her mind?'' Coby's facial expression was saying as he froze at his doorstep, "showing" that he had full attention.

Chapter 4: "No Strings Attatched"

It's as if she knew he was coming, could be a coincidence that she could have stayed up all night practicing her piano and caught him while he was passing by, but then again maybe she was waiting for him. Coby would never know the truth of what happened. She was wearing a black sweater and blue jeans with simple tennis shoes "Coby, I'm very sorry to bother you at this hour but will you please help me with something?" she asked in a sympathetic and friendly tone. Coby stared back at her with a suprised look on his face still in shock of catching him right before he could go into the best place to 'be himself'. "Yes" he said with a response full of tension, Lina left the door open as she walked back into her apartment. Coby waited at the open door while Lina picked up her cane and came back outside and shut the door. "One of the strings in my piano just broke and before I moved in I forgot to buy a new set, so I was wondering if you could direct me to the nearest store" Lina asked in favor. "Yes" Coby repeated, he had already said he would help her so she may have just wanted to confirm.

Lina gently grasped onto Coby's left arm, while she aligned her cane between her and the floor. "Ok, I'm ready now" she announced with an honest smile on her face. As they walked down the streets filled with beautiful colors, it was not that late at night so the city was still lively. "So I've heard some good and bad things about this neighborhood, but that never scared me...I guess its just because I'm blind, huh?" She said with a smile as if she was joking. "But I thought I would try to find out how well I could live on my own for once in my life and not rely on my parents" she continued. "My best friend Katie is the one that talked me into it." she said finishing the sentence. Coby's tingly feeling inside him came back, it felt good to listen to her talk, he felt good when she latched onto his arm for him to guide her down the street to her destination.

"What about you, Coby? What was your life like before you moved out here?" she said out of curiosity since Coby hadn't told her much about his life he only told her about himself of what he does. Surely his tingly feeling was yearning to open up, but his other side...his "True Form" tries to shut her out, not to reveal anything at all of what he REALLY does. "....I was raised in an orphanage upstate" he replied with a blank tone. "Really!?" she said out of surprise. "You never got adopted?" she asked out of curiosity. "No" he responded in a calm tone. "I guess you and I have something in common, in a way we were both alone most of our lives" she continued. "Growing up was not easy for me, I didn't fit in too well with the other kids at school, they just couldn't understand my condition." she explained. "So I spent most of my time in the music room, practicing piano. Of course I didn't meet Katie until after I graduated from high school, my skill with the piano may take me far in life, that's what my parents say but I can somehow sense their feelings that they really want me to go far, but its because I'm disabled." She said closing that topic. "But anyway, unlike myself you had no family that was there for you when you needed them." she said. Coby stopped in his tracks right after she made that last comment and then Lina suddenly felt that she had struck a nerve. "Oh...I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to-" she tried to say when Coby cut her off, "We're here" he said revealing that they made it to their destination.

"Oh, so it was 122 steps" she said as Coby turned his attention to her she counted the paces she made while walking with him. It's amazing how she could do that. But even though she is blind she's still a woman, unlike men women are born with an ability to do more than one task at one time, men on the other hand have to be trained in doing so. "Coby, would you please help me with finding the right set?" Lina asked once more. Coby had taken her to the store, why not go all the way? Get to know her better? "Ok" he said as they walked inside the store they approached a salesman that was cleaning off a brand new piano. "Excuse me, but can you help me find a new set of these?" Lina asked as she pulled out the snapped piece of piano wire. "Certainly" replied the salesman with a smie on his face.

He was an elderly slender black man to be about 70, he wore a black turtle neck, tan khakis, and old fashioned dress shoes. He was bald and had a grey goatee. Although he looked to be abit younger than that. African-Americans age the slowlest, they die the same age as any average American but their facial features do not change for awhile. White people age the quickest, and black people age the slowest. "Please follow me" said the salesman with a friendly tone. Lina released her grasp on Coby's arm; she meant what she said when she doesn't want to spend her life relying on others. Coby let her follow the nice man while he scanned the store. Coby found this place to be abit desolate, being in a music room to him was depressing. But some people actually enjoy being in places like this. It was just the way it felt, or maybe it reminded him of that hell hole you call an orphanage that Coby was forced to spend his childhood in.

But as hard as it was, Coby kept those feelings that you could tell through his facial expressions and hand movements to himself. "I'm Richard by the way..." said the saleman. That was the only thing that Coby actually caught while still "seeing flashes 'down memory lane' as Lina and Richard were having a conversation that Coby was unaware of. Richard Carter, he dedicated his whole life to music. No wife, no children, just music... After he retired from playing Jazz, he opened up this store with some of the money he had saved up in his retirement fund, making an honest living. But of course this part of Sunset City isn't the best place to open up a store like that. Not only could people steal and sell to a pawn shop but also, people that commit these crimes don't have time to pay to practice these instruments to give them a better life.

Coby then felt Lina's hand grasp his arm again as he immediately turned his attention toward her. "Ok, I'm ready to go." she said with a smile as Coby followed Richard to the register as Lina dug through her purse. She put two 5 dollar bills on the counter. To pay for the new set of piano wire. "You two come back again" said Richard with a little laugh, as Coby walked out of the door with Lina. "Coby, are you hungry?" Lina asked out of concern. "...Yeah" was Coby's response. Coby looked over at Lina for exactly 3 seconds "...Do you like pizza? I'll pay for it." he said in a calm tone. Lina wasn't sure because she hardly ever went to go out to eat with anyone other than her family in her whole life but she did just move out because she also wanted to meet new people. "Ok" she said with a smile as she tried not to make Coby think she was afraid of him or something.

Coby escorted Lina down the sidewalk, Lina still could trust him but as kind of naive as she was she met the right man who won't do what most men in this god forsaken hell hole you call a city would do. By now inside Lina's head the pace count must be over 300, Coby walked into the pizza parlor with Lina still clinging to his arm. "2 please, non smoking" Coby said to the doorman as she picked up two menus and lead them to a table, she was way too tired to actually take a look at Lina, she didn't notice that Lina was blind. The last time she went out for pizza was with her family, either celebrating her sister's birthday or just a family dinner, just because they were an asian family, doesn't mean that they always ate asian food. "I would like a medium supreme pizza" said Coby since he didn't know what Lina liked because even though she's blind she is still a woman and most women give you that typical "oh whatever you like" response.

Since Coby didn't know alot about girls because he didn't have that kind of guidence he only did what she said. "This place is kind of quiet, maybe its just because its night time." said Lina. "Maybe" said Coby, but in his mind the definition of "quiet" means peace and peace is what you don't have in this city. Could that be what Coby wants? Does he want peace? Or could it be just a reason to feed his violent tendancies to make all the anger inside him go away from the torment he had growing up in an orphanage? Nevertheless he wasn't killing innocent people. Later on that night Coby took Lina home, this wasn't a date they were just both hungry and they needed something to eat. "I really enjoyed the pizza, Coby" Said Lina, "It feels nice to eat with somebody new" she continued. "Well, goodnight" she said as she walked into her apartment. Coby stood outside her door before going into his, he shut the door and then sat down at his kitchen table for a moment thinking about what just happened.

He couldn't understand that tingly feeling inside him but he knew that he liked it. Coby stood up from the kitchen table and then walked into his bedroom to get undressed and go to bed. Coby's apartment was very clean unlike most single men. Because Coby had no friends being alone his whole life so in his spare time he cleaned his apartment when he got a chance. Coby laid in bed as the sun passed through the clouds, the day just passing him by like he would have a care in the world, after all it was his day off. Coby woke up at around 8 o'clock at night, he took a shower while the light lit up the whole bathroom, even though this apartment isn't rich it was still nice. Coby stepped out of the shower shaved clean completely on his face and chest, before brushing his teeth and getting dressed. He put on his black shoes and khakis and his black nike Jacket before walking out of his apartment and out onto the street.

Coby hid behind a dumpster in the shadows this alley way was dark because of the wooden fence in the way to keep people on the street just walking by from coming through. Coby had hopped the fence when nobody was looking and then crouched down to wait for "his prey" to come. Suddenly a fat Latino man that looks to be in his late 20s shows up He lifted the dumpster lid and then threw in the trash. Coby listened for his steps to fade away. That was his que, Coby pulled out that piece of piano wire and quickly wrapped it around his hands. He krept up behind the fat man and then quickly brought down that piece of piano wire under his chin and then tightened the grip as the sharp wire began to sink into the adam's apple. The fat man turned around and then hit Coby in the jaw. Coby just quickly wrapped that piano wire around his neck, forming a noose.

Coby was jerked up by his collar and slammed into the brick wall, it was so busy inside the resturaunt they didn't hear the commotion going on from outside. Coby held on for dear life, as he tightened his grip even more on the string of piano wire while the fat man struggled violently hitting Coby in the face; anything to try and get out of that disturbing squeeze. The fat man put a squeeze on Coby's face, Coby just jerked his head a little to the right in order to avoid any damage to his face as he just tighetened the grip on the line. The fat man was bleeding from his neck to no end. Blood then began to leak out of his mouth as he began to make gargling noises, the fat man then began to slowly go down on his knees. Coby was far too full of rage to be stopped at this point as the fat man went down...down...down and then Coby continued tightening the grip until the fat stopped moving, he laid there on the pavement with his eyes rolled back in his head, drooling blood from his mouth as the blood leaked from his neck. Coby took the opposite way down the alleyway as he ran a little to get away from the restaurant, while limping.

Pete Resendez, a 27 year old store manager at a Mexican restaurant. This man was also a rapist and blackmailed poor latino women into doing what he wanted by threatening to turn them over to the INS. Alot of latino immigrants come into the country illegally; Of all the restaurants they applied for work at, they happen to take a wrong turn into here. They come into the country, not knowing any english, not trying to learn english, and only concentrate on working. It is not only disrespectful to the country to not learn their language when you enter but it is also hard for them get anywhere. That's why people like fatso take advantage of it, they pay them less money then the legal citizens that way the owner can keep a few dollars in their pockets. That's why you only see them in the kitchen of most restuarants, making it difficult for the legal citizens to find work.
Coby happened to be walking across this particular wooden fence as he was coming home from work when he heard what looked to have been an argument, he heard the sound of a woman crying. Coby was not a nosey bastard but he heard harsh tones of the voice so he peeked through the hole in the wooden fence. Resendez was grasping a 25 year old latino woman by her wrists and harshly talking to her in spanish. Although Coby wouldn't understand spanish, he knew what he saw was wrong when Petie-Boy began unbuttoning her blouse and kissing allover her exposed body as she cried out of humiliation. Coby unglued himself from that peephole and just stared at the fence for a second before walking away.

Amusing though the humor is repetitive. Of course I am sure you will make use of other conventions soon enough. It should also be said that subtle humor is more sophisticated than the straw men we construct and attack.

Humor huh...I prefer to think of it as dark sarcasm XD. Anywho, I thought you have to be a little repetitive otherwise when you mention something earlier and not remind the reader, it could be that the reader could forget about it all together

Chapter 5: "They Call Me D.L.C."

Coby began to take off the gloves while walking and limping at the same time. He examined his hands since he wrapped the piece of piano wire around them to choke the fucking life out of that fat bastard! If he hadn't had worn gloves then he would have deep cuts in his hands, they were wrapped so tight. Coby was at a far enough distance to dispose of the murder weapon into a nearby garbage can; The cops wouldn't think to look in there when they find a fresh corpse a few blocks away in an alley. Coby placed the gloves inside the pockets of his nike jacket, and then rolled up the sleeves and unzipped the jacket a little, Just to once again avoid looking suspicious; to look like he has something to hide. Coby continued walking down the sidewalk only a few meters away from the subway station.

Coby placed some coins into the turnstyle before walking into the station with his hands in his pockets. He walked down some steps into the train station, the train stopped just in time as if he planned for it all along. Coby walked inside and found a seat to where the side of his face could touch the window. Coby leaned the right side of his face against the window, he was panting from his fight with Resendez. Coby was bleeding from his bottom lip, had a knot in his head, and a bruise under his left eye. He closed his eyes for a moment to relax as the vibration of the train rumbling across the tracks calmed him down as if he was an infant being strolled through your local park. Coby got off on his next stop as he walked down the corridor leading to his apartment, this time he didn't hear the piano melodies from across his apartment, he looked over at Lina's doorstep for atleast 4 seconds before going into his home.

Coby took off his Jacket and hung it over the kitchen chair, he opened his refrigerator and took out some left over chinese food to eat. Coby sat down and ate it with chopsticks. After dinner he washed his face, trying his best to remove the suspiciousness. Coby brushed his teeth, took a shower and then went straight to bed. He awoke the next morning feeling relaxed instead of watching the news he would rather watch something else. He didn't even want to watch the news because he didn't want notoriety. He may go insane from paranoia, he would rather fight for his sanity and not care about what they find, because that would only make him fear of getting caught so he just changed the channel as it viewed some morning cartoon that young children would view while slurping down their Cheerios. Coby did his usual routine in preparing for work.

Once again, he sat down on the subway train, staring up at the lights. Coby sat down at the tv monitor to once again do his daily job. After work, as usual Coby took the train home, this was his life. As Coby stepped off that train he saw a young Hispanic male that looked to be no older than 19 years old, he wore black sneakers, black jeans a black hoodie with the grim reaper on the back of it. He had a long set of hair put up in a pony tail. He often rubbed his nose and his eyes looked to be as if he was wide awake, he had bags under his eyes, something was definately wrong with this kid. The boy approached a business woman very slowly while she stood there just chatting away on her cellphone. The boy finally got close enough when he grabbed a hold of that purse and immediately snatched it from the woman's shoulder and ran up the stairs, Coby then went into pursuit. There were no police around patrolling this section of the station so this gave the kid the advantage. Coby took off running after him up the steps, the teen pushed a few people out of the way while Coby chased him. Coby had been doing alot of footwork over the years because he had been walking to and from work, and many other places since he didn't often drive his van. The teen led Coby into an alley way, it was long and dark at this time of night, the kid tried to climb a fence but Coby had caught up with him.

Coby grabbed a hold of the teenager's hoodie and then with brute force he pulled him off the fence, throwing him to the ground. The boy pulled out a handle, and gave it a good flick'o the wrist, causing a blade to erect from the handle. Coby then knew that what he was about to deal with would be a very dangerous snake. The teen swung his knife at Coby once, twice, three times until Coby became fed up just backing up like a Mongoose dodging a snake's attacks. Instead, Coby grabbed a hold of the boys wrist and gripped it very hard. He punched that boy in the face a few good times before thrusting his knee into the teen's stomach, knocking the wind out of him. He then threw the boy at the fence. Coby then punched the kid in the kidneys repeatedly and by this time, Coby pulled out his own knife and held it up to the boy's face. Nobody was around to see what he was doing, Coby could easily cut this teenager up just like that and the Cops wouldn't give a damn about it, since they would just say that it was a fight over drugs and then throw the report right in the trash. Nobody would care, they would just throw him in jail and be right back where he was allover again.

Coby could finally tell that this kid was high, he had been snorting cocaine. Coby then put away his knife and his anger and then brought the kid face down on the ground in a rather rude manner. Coby then kicked the boy a few more times hard before he pulled out a pair of handcuffs and cuffed the boy, the usual hands behind their back routine. Coby had already roughed up the boy as it is, the boy was too tired too exhausted to put up a fight by now. Coby stood the kid up, picked up the purse the kid stole and then walked to his apartment complex. Coby unlocked the side door to his black '88 GMC van and then threw the Mexican teenager inside. Coby locked the doors as he unlocked the door to the driver's side, he got in while setting the purse down in the passenger's seat. He turned on the engine as he put the van in reverse and pulled out of the parking lot. The Mexican teenager laid dizzy on the floor of Coby's van since there were no back seats in his vehicle.

Pablo De La Cruz, a 19 year old Mexican-American and only child. Pablo was once a straight-A student, an athlete on the soccer team, and a scholarship lined up for him when he would walk across that stage during his graduation. But then things just went down hill once Pablo's mother walked out on him one day, probably because Pablo's father was just a janitor and she thought that she could just walk away and find a new husband, with better money and much better life. And then, Pablo's father resorted to drinking, and then he became very abusive toward his only son, because he blamed Pablo for causing his wife to just walk away from him. One day Pablo just decided to run away from everything, he wasn't angry at his father or even hated him. He just thought that maybe his father would be better off without him. But no, Pablo's father then realized what he had done since his son hasn't came home in a few days. Pablo's father then got worse and then fell into deep depression. Pablo had spent about a year on the streets, breaking into people's houses, shops, anything to do with looting, fortunately he hadn't hurt anyone physically. But his reputation has earned him his name "DLC" really that's just his initials for his last name.

Coby then put his van in park infront of some rehab center as he turned off the ignition and got out of the van. He opened up the side door and pulled Pablo out by his ankles he uncuffed him, and shut the door to lock it. Coby escorted Pablo up steps and into the facility. About less than 5 minutes Coby came back out, leaving Pablo there. He got back into his van, as he started the ignition and drove off. He probably told them a bullshit story of how Pablo got that black eye, bloody nose and bruises allover his face, possibly he told him that he was attacked by other junkies and took his drugs. They wouldn't know what happened, and Pablo may or may not remember everything that just happened. Hopefully the beating that Coby had inflicted on that confused adolescent had knocked some sense into him and set him straight and he could be back in school and his father could feel whole again.

Coby dropped the purse off at a local retailer store and told them that he just found it laying on a shelf since they would have looked at him suspicious like if he told them that he found it in an alley and why he didn't turn it into the Police Station and by closing time it would have been too late to look over the security cameras at what time he entered the store. They immediately notified the owner of the purse they found after Coby left the store. Coby pulled his van into the parking lot of his apartment complex as put it in park. He stepped out to shut the door and locked it before walking up the stairs to his lair.

Dante
I like this story a lot, and I love the title.

The prose and pacing of the story could use a lot of tightening up, though. I'm not sure how much of a critique (if any) you're interested in, so I'll just leave it at that.

Thank you, Dante! ^_^

Chapter 6: "Two Snakes With One Bat"

The next night Coby broke into someone's apartment armed with a steel baseball bat. It had to have been far away from his apartment, otherwise he wouldn't be doing this. Coby heard screaming from another room because of that. Coby spotted cocaine allover the coffee table, but then suddenly he quickly turned around in the nick of time, simultaneously swinging that bat and bashed the drug dealer over the head with it right before he was about to pull the gun. The first shot was fired but luckily it was away from Coby. The drug dealer was a black man with a goatee and bald, he had a snow cap and wore the typical gangbanger clothing. Coby stood on that wrist that was connected to the hand that was holding the gun and continued to beat that drug dealer in the head until he finally released the gun. Coby then kicked the gun from a far distance. He hit that drug dealer again in the jaw with that bat when suddenly a caucasian blonde crackwhore of a woman jumped on his back and tried to strangle him, causing Coby to drop the bat. The drug dealer then began to climb to his feet as he pulled out a knife.

Coby wrestled with that bitch, not knowing what was going to happen, he knew sooner or later that fucking scumbag was going to climb to his feet. Coby saw him coming while his crackwhore wife had him by the throat, Coby sprang up one of his right foot and lodged his steel toed shoe right between that man's legs. Coby then grabbed the stupid bitch by her unatural blonde hair and began punching her into the side of her skull until she she finally let go. Coby didn't care where in the face he was hitting her, he had to get her off him. Coby threw her into the kitchen making alot of noise, he spotted a broom nearby and quickly snapped it in two. While the blonde girl was digging in a drawer she pulled out a butcher knife and immediately charged at him Coby took that broom handle and then finally stabbed that annoying little bitch in the abdomin again and again. Coby stabbed the broom handle in so deep on the 7th time and twisted it.

Suddenly, Coby was tackled to the kitchen floor from behind by the drug dealer but he quickly turned around to prevent the druggie from stabbing him. Coby grabbed a hold of his wrist and wrestled with him abit more. The drug dealer then held Coby by his jaw, Coby only able to hold the wrist to prevent him from being stabbed, with one hand. While his bat was out of reach with the other free hand, instead Coby just decided to repeatedly punch the drug dealer because he was not going to die before killing this asshole. Coby punched him in the nose, in the eye, in the jaw but this dickhead just wouldn't budge finally, Coby hit him so hard that he stunned him and was able to reach for his bat. Coby swung it inward, connecting to the back of the skull once, and again, knocking him off him. Just as Coby got up that fucker decided to still not stay down and once again tried to tackle Coby yet again, they wrestled around a little more. When Coby once agian threw that fucker face first into the glass door of the entertainment center. Coby picked up the bat and just as the fallen drug dealer pulled himself out of the glass door, Coby repeatedly smashed his face in with that bat, about the 10th time, he stopped moving you couldn't even recognize his face anymore. What Coby didn't know is that he was being watched by that bimbo's daughter, Lindsey but she couldn't get a good look at him.

Lindsey Ehara, a 17 year old half Japanese and half white. Lindsey was once a nice young girl but then her mother, 36 year old Brittany, turned into a real bitch, when she divorced Lindsey's father and then met some drug dealer scumbag 35 year old Kevin Anderson A.K.A. "Low-Dawg". Lindsey's father tried very hard to fight for his daughter's custody but he was unsuccessful, but that didn't stop him from trying harder. Finally, Brittany decided to have him killed since he was kind of a pain in her side. Brittany was never tried so she got away with it. There was no evidence to arrest her on. Coby saw Anderson on the street and decided to follow him and was very successful in staying low. Coby walked up the flights of stairs as soon as Anderson went into the apartment he heard screaming and cursing and he also heard the sound a teenage girl being slapped around. Coby knew where to find him one night when he wouldn't see him coming. But thanks to Coby, Lindsey could escape this dreadful life, and she would probably go live with her grandmother (her father's side of the family) somewhere out of this city. And since Lindsey liked to draw, she began to draw fantasy pictures based on the events that happened that night.

Coby again parked his van in the same space as last night, this was his routine after his "other job". He walked up the steps to his apartment, just like every other night. He walked up to his apartment doorstep and unlocked it from there, strangely... the halls were silent. Ever since Lina moved in across the hall from Coby, he had always had a melody to come home to while strolling down the hall. Instead the hall was full of desolation and silence. Coby walked into his bathroom and washed his face, he was wearing only a white 'wifebeater' and the rest of his clothes he hasn't taken off yet. Coby then was about to sit down in his only kitchen chair (that had his nike' jacket hanging over it as usual), and eat his 'Nighthawk' brand tv dinner on the table, it consisted of Salisbury steak with brown gravy, mashed potatos, and Corn when he was interrupted by the sound of knocking at his door, Coby excused himself from the table and approached the door.

It was Lina and she was dressed in a green sweater and black pants, with matching green socks and black shoes, and a small chain necklace, and golden earrings. "I'm sorry to have bothered you at this hour again, well since you always come home late." she said with a smile since she was kind of blushing. "But I wanted to ask if you would join me for breakfast tommorrow morning." She asked with another smile since she was kind of nervous to approach him like this, she was already nervous when she asked him if he would help her to that instrument shop. Feeling relieved that it wasn't a detective at his door the minute he saw her face, "...Ok" he said in response. Lina smiled at his answer "Ok, I'll come by in the morning, bye bye" she said with a kind of excited smile on her face. Coby closed the door and then set the chain back on the lock and then went to go sit down to eat before once again going to bed.

Chapter 7: "The Child's Chair"

Coby sat down with Lina on the train, her short black hair was styled nicely even though it was short. She wore no make-up, a black tanktop, a girl's red hoodie, blue jeans and those same black shoes. Coby was this time led off by Lina, it appears she knew where she was going as they walked up the stairs to exit the subway, they walked down the streets of a certain part, Coby had to play "the gentleman" by walking on the other side of the girl so that he's closer to the oncomming traffic than her while walking down the sidewalk because she needed to feel the wall to read the braille print on the signs, it was the city law that the signs have braille for the blind to read. They finally stopped infront of some small donut shop, "Here we are" she said in tone when somebody finds a book at a library with a smile; She knew she could do it. She folded up her cane and then reached for the door. The little bell above the door went off as the jingling filled the room of the small lobby.

A middle aged asian man that looked to be around the age of 65 came out from the kitchen to approach the counter and then smiled excitedly at Lina with a hysterical greeting. Lina smiled at the sound of that voice as she continued to guide Coby up to the counter with her free hand outward so that she could feel the glass counter so that she doesn't bump into it and hurt herself. "Hi dad" said Lina with an excited smile on her face while still approaching the counter, "There is someone I would like you to meet" she continued as she finally reached the glass counter that was showing off the rich colorful icing painted gracefully on the donuts like your daughter's senior prom dress. "This is Coby, he's my neighbor" she said with an innocent smile, "I asked him to come with me, I wanted to introduce him to you". She said with a look of confidence, but suddenly Lina's father kind of had abit of a suprised look on his face but he quickly covered it up with a smile and created a face of being proud that his daughter may have met somebody.

"Coby, what do you do?" he asked in his thick Vietnamese accent, curious of Coby's occupation. "I-I'm a, security guard" Coby responded with a shy but honest tone while Lina moved her hand from his arm and put it on his shoulder to make him feel welcome. "Ah, I see" he said with another polite smile on his face, he wasn't sure about Coby he was expecting Coby to possibly start dating Lina. He always thought that no man would want her because of her disability but he never given it much thought as to see what man could be right for his daughter but now would have been the time for that "instinct" to kick in. "I haven't seen you this happy since your last performance" he said in a fatherly tone, Lina giggled a little before she chose a strawberry donut, a cresant a cup of coffee and milk. Coby nervously ordered a blueberry donut, a chocolate donut and some milk. That's what he often drank back when he was in the orphanage. Lina's father picked up Lina's plate and Coby's, he usually always carried his daughter's plate since she was blind, of course when they were having dinner at home he knew that she knew where to find the dinner table.

Maybe he didn't trust that Coby would lead her to the table, but that's what fathers usually do to show that they are still useful when they are in the presence of another man that has something to do with his daughter... Or maybe that's kind of difficult for her to hold onto Coby with one hand and hold the plate steady with the other. Coby said nothing as Lina held onto his arm while leading her to the table, she held out her free hand to reach for the aluminum chair, once Lina pulled out the chair and prepared to sit down, her father put her hand on her shoulder. "Come, say hello to mama" he said while leading her to the back, Coby heard them speaking in a foreign language in the kitchen while he ate his donuts and drank his milk. In his mind he thought that her father and mother were talking about him, saying that he was bad news and that Lina is naive to be with him. And then he heard another voice, a feminine voice, that may have been Lina telling her father that Coby is nice or something. Coby heard them talking back and forth in that foreign language (Vietnamese, but not like Coby would know what it is) But then again, Coby grew up in an orphanage, he wouldn't know anything about relationships and parenting, so there really was no way of telling.

Ming and Hanh Trang, immagrated from Vietnam long before even Coby was born. They opened up this Donut shop right before their first child was born. They worked hard to send Lina to go to school and learn piano and she was a success, Lina was always greatful for what her parents went through to get her where she is today, her sisters will find out and will get to meet Coby very soon. Maybe they will talk to her just like the parents, or maybe they will be supportive and happy that she found a new friend. Minutes later, Lina came out from the kitchen while touching the wall with one hand and holding her other hand out to again feel the table before bumping into it. She sat down with 5 packets of Splenda, 3 little cups of cream, and 2 packets of honey. "Sorry I took a little long, I was just talking to my parents" She said leaving it at that, it had already been 2 months since Lina moved in and already she had developed a type of relationship with him. She opened the packets of honey before feeling around for her styrofoam cup of coffee. She squirted the honey into her coffee before placing the empty packets of honey back in an empty sack that she used for trash. She opened the 3 cups of cream and poured them into her coffee one by one and disposing them into that empty paper sack with those empty packets of honey. She picked up those 5 packets of splenda and aligned them up into one hand, then ripped them all open at one time before pouring them into her coffee and then disposed of them ripped packets of splenda into the trash sack along with the empty containers of coffee cream and empty packets of honey.

Lina picked up her stirring straw to mix up all the ingrediants she added. "My dad always told me that coffee tastes better with honey" she said with a smile as Coby watched her customized her coffee, she suddenly stopped. "Here, try some, its very good" Lina said as she gently moved her coffee towards him. Coby picked up her coffee and took a sip of it, Lina sat there with her hands under her chin the exact way she sat when Coby first came over to her apartment. "Do you like it?" she asked, "It's good" Coby said with a response as he slid the coffee back to her slowly. Lina smiled at his reply as well as picking up on the movement brought her hand down, she touched Coby's arm and then made her way up to his hand, she wrapped her hand around his but it was then to grab her coffee cup. Coby let go of the coffee, he felt how soft and nice Lina's palm was. But that's not like Coby would know the difference anyway, he never was interested in girls particularly. But again, just because Lina is blind doesn't mean she can't be a woman. Lina took a sip herself and then set the coffee cup down with a etiquette. "My parents were discussing about me having a guide dog" Lina said, "My dad was always allergic so we never had a dog, it's ironic that he would tell me now" she continued with a giggle. "I guess since I moved out, they now think its ok, I told him I'll think about it" she said as she picked up her strawberry donut, took a bite of it, and then opened her plastic bottle of schepps white milk to drink it down with. "Do you like the donuts?" she asked, not to change the subject but really curious if Coby liked them, because she may want to take him with her to eat here again. "Yes I do" Coby replied, Lina once again smiled apparently she liked what she heard.

Later on that day, Coby was roaming the street, it was close to dusk when he saw a caucasian man that looked to be about 24, Brown hair and goatee, kind of tall, and he wore a tan trench coat. He snatched an 8-year-old boy off the street. Coby followed the two and that led him to an old abandoned crackhouse. Coby searched around in the alley and found an old useless wooden chair, he grabbed a hold of one of the legs and broke it off before pulling his hood up over his head. This time instead of waiting until the time is right, where his "prey" is alone, he actually decided to prevent this from happening. Too bad for them female victims of Coby's previous victims that were brutally raped and murdered, too bad for that innocent man that was brutally attacked and possibly might never to be able to walk again by another one of Coby's victims. But actually risking being caught to actually save this child? This being a different case!? The child snatcher was then taken by surprise when a brick crashed through the window. That made the kidnapper jump, giving the child a chance to escape. He then realized that his abductee was getting away. He chased the child down stairs. The child ran out the front door and down an alley, the abducter followed but just as he was about to turn the corner that the child just did, he was met with a chair leg to the face. Coby stepped out as he was about to finish the job when the kidnapper quickly climbed to his feet and took off running, Coby chased after him.

The kidnapper ran through another alley as Coby stayed on his tail, Coby was not going to let him get away. The kidnapper hopped over a fence as well, Coby followed. Coby chased him through another alley, where he was led to an open manhole, Coby dared to enter down through there as he put the chair leg in the back of his jacket as if it was a sword sheath. Coby climbed down the ladder leading into the actual sewer system he drew the chair leg from the back of his jacket as he gripped it tightly, preparing for that sicko to pop out somewhere. Coby only had one way to go since the alternate routes were blocked off, he then reached another intersection, he looked to his right and saw the trench coated man running to the right. Coby followed him as he turned the same direction. The abductor ran across the sewage water and turned to the left, Coby continued to give chase down the long tunnel. The kidnapper turned right again, and Coby again continued to give chase. The stench in the sewer got worse, and this section became even more darker and dreary. Coby was lead even further down this section, there was no where else to turn, just a long long hall. Coby stopped running to catch his breath but he still kept alert while gripping that chair leg. His chase ended into some room, the door was rusty and the overhead light was burnt out. He opened the door and what was inside was an old storage room, the walls looked to be dirty with years and years of neglect. Coby took a step inside very slowly, little by little trying to be prepared to attack once this psycho leaps out.

Coby found a place in this gigantic room, mutilated corpses; The victims looked to be young enough to have been children, the skinless, decayed children swung back and forth on crude meat hooks. Candles were lit like a ritual was in order, and the flicker of the flame made the bodies' shadows dance. The musty odor of them in the dry room swirled around Coby, forcing him to immediately vomit. He didn't want to look at the dead children any longer, but he couldn't look anywhere else without seeing them because they were pretty much a part of the wall and ceiling. He was cluttered in the confined space of dismal deaths. Needles driven into their faces, which were pretty much muscle now. If any of them DID have faces left, they would loosely fit the head and seem like an empty doll. A closer examination of this would reveal that this is not the original child's face, but is another's and has been sewn onto their own head. That, OR the face would be badly disfigured beyond recognition by blunt force trauma. As for the torsos, the skin rotted off the bodies and hung outward like a banana peel. Old decomposed innards spilled from them. Some black and bruised all over, some with horrific expressions on their faces, it was a nightmare. This was nothing Coby had ever seen before, Coby may have chased down the wrong fucking snake!

The kidnapper drew a big butcher knife from the inside of his now unbuttoned trench coat and began to slowly and quietly take it off; Under the trench coat he was wearing a grey muscle shirt, tight blue jeans and black shoes, all stained with blood. People just thought it was his body odor that he didn't do anything about. The psychotic kidnapper smiled since he had the advantage. His smile was very ugly due to his neglected yellow teeth. Coby turned around as the kidnapper threw his trench coat onto Coby, blinding him. "Here's Annndyy!!" cried the kidnapper in an excited tone, "Andy" leaped at Coby from a crate at the same time. He had been hiding ontop of a gigantic pipe and once he had Coby where he wanted him, he quietly climbed down onto the crates. Coby got his hands up just in time, the trench coat ended slashed as Andy tried to stab Coby. Coby then learched forward at Andy since he had a grip of his wrist. Coby pinned Andy up against that rusty door, trying to possibly disarm that knife from his grip. And decided he would learch forward at Coby and at the same time used one of his legs to hook with Coby's, knocking him down. Andy was laughing hysterically, good thing that Coby's face was covered up with that slashed trench coat, otherwise he'd be staring at Andy's menacing green eyes combined with a disturbing look on his face. Coby had let go of that chair leg already but it wasn't that far away. Coby just began punching through that coat with one hand while the other was still handling that wrist. Coby was struggling like a mad man, he was not going to let this sicko kill him here.

Coby had one free leg, he brought that up and gave Andy a good kick in his side. He did it again, the steel inside his shoes were going to leave some bruises. Coby finally managed to get the trench coat off of his face and then gave Andy a good punch in the jaw, that got Andy off of him quickly climbed to his feet and then gave Andy a good kick across his face, this time knocking Andy against the wall. Coby spotted the chair leg not too far away, he quickly made his way to it and picked it up. Just as Andy was about get up, Coby clocked Andy over the head with that chair leg the minute he climbed up and tried to stab him again with that butcher knife. That caused Andy to stumble a little, Coby grabbed a hold of Andy's grey muscle shirt and then clocked him across the face, that time causing him to completely lose his balance. Coby then grabbed a hold of Andy's wrist that was holding the knife. Coby brought up that chair leg and bashed Andy in the skull, again, again, again, again, again, and again. At about the 46th time Coby became too tired to continue bludgeoning Andy to death. Coby's face was was sprinkled with Andy's blood. Andy's face was completely messed up because that chair leg had an extremely thick block shape on the end of it. Coby slowly, walked out of the store room and down that long passageway.

24-year-old Andrew Perry Smith, A.K.A. "Angry Andy", Children in Sunset City often turned up missing but the Police have not found any leads due to the increasing crime rate and lack of clues. Smith snatched young boys and girls off the street then brought them down here, who knows what else he did with them in the old crackhouses. Smith often practiced sadism on innocent and naive children. Not even the City Workers knew of this place it had been neglected for so long. Just the story of this man would send a chill up any spine, and it will be a very long time before anybody found out what happened. And if you believe in Urban Legends and Ghost Stories, this place would be one of the places to stay away from. Because the Ghost of "Angry Andy" could be lurking around here, haunting the place and cut you up when he finds you. You may even here him wailing "HERE'S ANNNNNNDYYYYYYYY!" right before you die.

Coby climbed up the ladder he descended when he was chasing Andy, he gently lifted the manhole as he peeked out of the sewer. Thank goodness there was nobody around, Coby lifted the Manhole up high enough to move it, that was he climbed out. Coby looked around again that way to check to make sure nobody else was around. Coby made a sigh of relief as he shut the sewer, hopefully he would never have to go down there again. He stood up and pulled the hood over his head, that way people couldn't see the blood splattered on his face. Coby walked through several allies before finding a group of homeless men surounding an old garbage can of fire. Coby approached the barrel and desposed the blood stained chair leg, it was too dark for the hobos to tell if it was blood, what would they care? and who would really listen to a hobo anyway. Coby heard them say thank you for keeping the flames burning and some of them asked for some change, but Coby ignored them as he walked right passed them. Coby walked into a train station, he slid in enough change through the slot to go through the turnstyle, he made his way to the restroom, he locked it and then he relentelessly began to wash off the blood on his face. He ripped a paper towel from the dispenser and wiped off his nike jacket. About 30 minutes to an hour, Coby had managed to have cleaned himself up real good. And the sink too, washing the blood down the sink too.

Coby walked out of the lavatory and just in time boarded the subway train, he sat down and leaned his head back while listening to "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins on the subway's radio. Coby took the train ride home, it took him about another 30 minutes to finally reach his stop. Coby stepped off the subway as he walked up the steps with his hands in his pockets. He reached his apartment complex as he entered the lobby, up his flights of stairs and made it into his apartment, Coby just plopped down on his bed, shut his eyes drifting off to sleep. You think he would begin to have nightmares about the incidents that he found tonight? You think after seeing all of that, would he ever be the same again?

Chapter 8: "I'm Your Fairy Godmother"

Lina walked into her family owned donut shop with her older sister, they were just discussing about general things, her older sister Cathy was talking to her in Vietnamese. Lina ordered the usual and sat down across from Cathy, when she mixed up the usual ingredients into her coffee. "So tell me Lina, what's this I hear about you bringing over a man to the shop?" Cathy asked in english this time, Lina was sipping her coffee and then set it down on the table, "Oh you mean Coby?" responded Lina with a smile. "Yes, I want to know" Cathy responded in a typical girly tone as if she was a school girl but in a mature way since they were adults. Lina once again put her elbows on the table and her hands under her chin, once again.

Coby was in the staff lounge at the hospital making himself a cup of coffee the same way Lina taught him yesterday morning. Coby liked the taste of it so he thought he may drink some, he brought some packets of honey with him on his way to work since they didn't have honey in the hospital. The splenda was a better taste instead of sugar. Splenda keeps the body going better than sugar, sugar doesn't always work. But honey is better than sugar, it gives coffee a better flavor than sugar, that's what Lina told him. Coby took a sip of it before sitting down at the lounge table. Coby thought back for a second at what he did to Andy, Coby would have to try to get over it. What people see happen it is possible to get over it, but you know Coby he usually kept it to himself. It felt good to be alive after he killed a Murderous pedophile in self defense. Coby just didn't want to die like that, and then he just beat Andy to death with that chair leg until his arm got tired.

Coby's cup of coffee was then interrupted when he got a call from one of the nurses that they needed assistance. The patient was kind of getting a little beligerent, that patient needed a shot to calm him down because he had been traumatized due to a recent incident. Coby held down that patient as he was screaming pain, that patient needed morphine very badly. Coby was told all that while he was on his way, to do his duty Coby looked at the patient and it sent a chill up his spine. Coby could end up just like this guy so now he had another problem to worry about. The patient was then given morphine and then Coby was sent back to his desk at the monitor.

Coby then clocked out and then was on his way home from work, Coby stepped off the subway train and did the usual routine in walking up the steps. Coby made his way up the flights of stairs to his apartment he walked inside as he took off the shirt part of his security uniform, he draped the shirt and the jacket over the chair. Coby was just in his black khakis, white undershirt and black shoes. Suddenly he heard a knock on the door, he looked through the peep hole to see Lina, he once again opened the door, she was dressed again in simple clothing consisting of a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes along with her red hoodie. "Coby?" she asked to make sure it was him who she was talking to since (once again) she's blind. "Yes?" Coby responded, Lina has been smiling since she heard Coby open the door, thankful that he's home. "I was hoping since you aren't busy if you would join me for coffee since its Friday night, it's just in my apartment" Lina said with an invitation. Coby stood there silent for about 2 whole seconds. "Ok" was his response, Lina smiled even more since Coby accepted her invitation, Coby went over to the kitchen chair where he hung his nike jacket over. He picked it up and put it on, even though she was blind he still thought it was best to wear it.

Coby walked with Lina across the hall as he shut his apartment door and locked it. He was let inside Lina's apartment, and sat down at the table, she poured Coby and herself a cup and even put the same ingredients from before in each cup while listening "King Of Pain" by The Police on her new radio. Coby picked up the coffee mug and took a sip of it and set it back down on the table. Lina sat down across from him, "So what music do you like?" Lina asked to start off the conversation topic. Coby sat there for awhile, "Uh... I don't know" Coby said, being in an orphanage most of his life never really gave him much thought. Lina smiled anyway, "Because of my condition, music was all I had." Lina said, "My family and I watched tv now and then, but even though I couldn't see the television I could still listen to it." she conitnued, "The radio is just as good though" she said finishing that sentence. "Do you like this music?" Lina asked while changing to the different section of the topic. Coby sat there for a moment still listening to that same song, "Yes" Coby replied.

"This music relaxes me, it also helps me feel better when I feel down" Lina announced. "I hear alot of music like this on the subway when I come home from work." Coby said, he thought he would say something that was on his mind. Lina smiled "Yeah, the subway does play music on the train alot" Lina responded, she took another sip of her coffee. "Sometimes I can hear people play other loud music on the train too, but it doesn't bother me much" She continued, "Its my way of seeing how people are out there in the real world, music can bring out the best in people" Lina said with a smile while Coby took another sip of his coffee. Coby never really gave music much thought, things sometimes did seem very interesting to him when he first got out of the orphanage. Since there wasn't much of anything entertaining up there. But what he was doing right this very moment, was fun, just sitting here having a normal conversation with Lina, this was good, right here and now.

The radio then switched over to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire". "...I like this song" Coby said out of nowhere, Lina's eyes widened for a moment. "Mm-" she said while sophisticatedly spitting out her coffee back into the mug, but not spilling a drop on the table. "Really?" said Lina while setting down her mug back on the table, pretty much telling Coby through her body language that he caught her full attention. "Yes" Coby replied "showing" integrity, Lina once again folded her hands and placed them under her chin, while setting her elbows down on the table. "Well, I must say this is an interesting song" Lina said, smiling at the comment, possibly thinking that Coby and her have something in common. This may have been the first time Coby had ever done anything that is fun since he got out of the orphanage. The two talked, well, Lina did most of it. Coby said a few words here and there, but he did like listening to her talk.

The conversation ended after many hours, Coby was just about to leave as he started for the door. "Coby..." Lina said, Coby turned around to face her, Lina stood up out of her chair and then walked towards Coby while moving one hand across the table. Coby just sort of froze there for a moment, wondering what she was going to do. "May I, touch your face?" she asked him as one of her arms was not moving. Coby stood in idle for about three seconds. "Ok" Coby said, Lina once again smiled as she moved in closer to Coby, holding out one of her hands. Lina touched Coby's face and gently carassed it, Coby felt kind of awkward for a moment. He had never been touched this way before in his whole life. The only time somebody had ever touched his face was when Jermiah had punched him, beat him. Lina's touch had sort of brought up that memory, Coby then backed up with a little surprise. "Oh, I'm sorry I hope I didn't offend you" Lina said showing concern and apologizing if she had imposed on something. "N-no" Coby said in a nervous tone, "Will you still do this with me another night?" Lina asked still hoping that she didn't upset Coby. "I want to.." Coby replied, "Ok then" Lina replied with a smile. She opened the door for Coby to exit, your typical "guest-in-the-home", routine.

Another Night, Coby sat on some steps infront of some apartment across the street, he was drinking a starbucks cappaccino out of a bottle. He sat there, just waiting and waiting...waiting...and waiting. He suddenly saw a middle aged Iranian man come out of his convience store, he was kind of chubby, wearing those poor shoes, tan khakis and light blue flannel. He kept his face shaved nicely; In a perfect well grommed matter, the Iranian man then unlocked his car door as he began to open it, he had one arm already inside when somebody had rushed up and gave that car door a very hard kick, slamming his arm in the door. The Iranian man then lost his balance and began stumbling trying to get away from his attacker once he was able to get his arm out of the door. Coby then swung his baseball bat in the side of the arm so hard he may have broke it. He then swung it again and hit him in his back of his knee, making him fall to the ground. Coby then pushed him over with his foot and then began assaulting him very brutally. The Iranian man covered his face by holding his hands up, he still recieved blows to the head a few times as Coby assaulted and battered him with that bat. This man looked old enough to be Coby's father; Kind of makes you feel a little guilty, doesn't it?

Coby had messed him up very badly; His face was bloody from the bludgeoning but Coby didn't kill him. Coby then begun assaulting the car because he was that pissed off, Coby was turning into some kind of animal. Coby had busted the windshield, the windows, the lights, and left a few dents in various places on the expensive ES 300 Beige Lexus. Once Coby was done demolishing the property, he took a look at the man he critically injured as he passed out and then walked away. Coby had assaulted him so bad that he may have not survived instead he went into a coma he may not come out of anytime soon. Fuck him! Let him die in the street! Respect your elders? How can you respect an elder that beats his teenage daughter for dating somebody he wouldn't approve of behind his back?

It all started about a week ago when Coby was out scouring the alleyway, looking for aluminum soda cans. He didn't want to be in his home since it was his day off. Coby then heard whimpering and shouting further down the alley way as he went to check it out, there he saw HIM. 46 year old Amir Tavassoly, brutally slapping around his 17 year old daughter, Suziara. Tavassoly had arranged her marriage when she turned of legal age, but of course anybody with a brain in their head could tell that Suziara didn't want that. She began dating a caucasian male from school, he was very nice to her and he didn't care at all about the fact she was of Iranian decent. But of course, her father found out about it. After the beatings, everynight her rage grew and grew for both of her parents. Her father for beating her and her mother for doing nothing about it since that was part of their customs of that kind of country they immigrated from. Every girl had lived in a fairy tale once in their life, they wished they had a fairy godmother to grant them a wish. Most wished to be a princess and live in a castle with ponies, Unicorns, and bunny rabbits in their garden. But Suziara's Fairy Godmother had twisted into the form of Coby, that granted her the wish of what her heart desired most of all.

Violence doesn't solve anything? Well, physically abusing your own child over a disagreement is not a way to get her listen to you either. Coby wouldn't know how they do things in Iran, but he didn't like what he saw and then did something about it. Coby may have made things worse for that so called family, but he didn't care; He wasn't going to let that piece of shit get away with it and ruin that girl's life anyway. Maybe he will learn something when he awakens from his coma... Or maybe he'll just die on the way to the hospital. Coby wouldn't know since he was never interested in watching the news let alone read the newspaper.

Chapter 9: "Chinese Mirror"

Coby got off of work early this time, it was at the crack of dusk when he roamed the streets. Coby must have wandered around for awhile, it was probably dangerous or not a good idea if you didn't know where you were going, you might just lose your wallet. Coby knew where he was going, Coby sat down across the street as he was staring at the very orphanage he grew up in. His mind shuffled through some flashbacks, at the time he was under the soar thumb of Jeremiah. Coby remembered one time when he was using the urinal, Jeremiah attacked him from behind. Coby then recieved a punch in the stomach, sending him down to the floor with his back against the bathroom wall. Jeremiah repeatedly kicked Coby as he laid there in pain while Jeremiah's "Jackals" (as what Coby thought of them) laughed. Coby then thought back to the time that he assaulted and attacked Jeremiah's Jackals in the cafeteria with that lunch tray. Just looking at them made him lose control, because he had all that rage built up inside, they were weaker than Jeremiah but it was hard to tell that if they were possibly weaker than Coby. That was why Jeremiah attacked Coby that night when Coby pushed Jeremiah over the rail.

The orphanage had finally ended up shut down for unknown reasons, atleast the reasons were unknown to Coby. It may have been a possibility that there was alot of negligence in that home, atleast it was when many of the staff appeared to make themselves scarce when Jeremiah and his Jackals assaulted Coby. He had not walked anywhere near this section after his discharge, he just wanted to be as far away from there as he could, Coby was ready to stand up as he began to walk away from this section and leave it behind forever. Of course, he would have to try and retrace his steps in order to get home.

Coby ended up in Chinatown, where there were grocery stores, video stores, clothing stores, antique stores, sweat shops, restuaraunts and apartments. This section of the city was kind of big, possibly a few miles long. Coby walked across some kind of antique store as he gazed in through the mirror, everything in this section was new to him. They barely taught him anything while he was growing up in the orphanage he didn't even know what Buddhism was before he stumbled across this part of the city. Coby really felt kind of like a martian in here, he watched an oriental man holding a Chinese mirror in his hand. His hand movements were showing that he was explaining what it was for as he talked to the nice young couple that appeared to be shopping. A Chinese Mirror is supposed to fend off evil spirits, possibly to hang over your bed so that you have only good dreams. That is what the man was explaining to the newly wed couple, but Coby began to lose interest when something caught his eye. He saw three Korean-American teenage boys take an asian girl through the alley, apparently even in this town with what appears to be decent people have bad seeds as well. Coby walked across the street and through the alley he went.

Before climbing the staircase following the sound of their voices while he was pulling on his gloves and pulling up the hood of his jacket, he picked up a beer bottle and then busted it against the brick wall Up on the roof, those three teenagers began to rip off the girl's blouse while she was crying. Her face was bruised and her nose was bleeding as she lay there helpless at their mercy. "I'm going first" said the teen that had a hold of her, "Make sure nobody's fucking coming" he said while simultaniously pulling down his pants. The other two were itching for their turn but while they were supposed to stand guard, they instead watched the first guy get ready as they stood there with a hard-on. That gave Coby the advantage as he krept behind one of the horny teenagers, he raised his hand and then jammed the busted glass bottle into the side of the neck of the one 'Horny-Jackal' nearest to the stairs. Coby twisted it to the right while holding onto the left ear, pulling on it as to stretch his neck out to expose the 'bullseye' to make the job easier. Coby's hand had thrusted the bottle so hard that is had crushed the busted bottle into pieces, making them into small and useless shards, he threw that teen down to the cement floor to die while choking on his own blood and vocal cords. Coby then pulled his already opened switchblade from his back right pocket while his eyes already locked on the next closest 'bag of raging hormones', which was close enough to attack."What the fu-?" was his sentence when he heard glass shattering and his buddy falling down before Coby had grabbed onto his shoulder and drove his switchblade into the abdomin of the next jackal. His rage kicked in as he twisted the knife into the torso and then pulling it upward, he then violently jerked the knife out, ripping the torso causing blood flick from the blade and onto the concrete. He collasped on his knees while drooling blood, when the third little shit tried to attack Coby by tackling him the minute he looked over his shoulder the minute he unzipped his pants for pleasure.

That asian teen must have been thinking he was Billy Badass just because he could bench press 110 lbs and drives around listening to hip-hop and representing "Korean Pride". Coby was definately tackled against the brick wall on this roof, Coby began repeatedly punching that boy in the kidney as he put him in a headlock. Coby then thrusted up his left knee into the kidney and in the stomach repeatedly until he saw fit that the little prick was worn out. Coby then pushed with all his might that asian kid close towards the rail with his head still locked inside his right arm. Coby continued to pound his fist into the kidney again before relinquishing the headlock Coby grabbed that boy by his white silky basketball jersey and then punched him across the face once, twice, and then in the stomach and in the face a third time. The asian teen appeared to be dizzy from Coby's beatings. Coby's rage measured up to that kid's strength and dosage of steroids, he continued to punch that kid in the face until he finally lifted him up and with all his might threw him over the balcony and off the roof! From the roof top was a long way down that shitbag landed face first onto an old rusty shopping cart, fracturing the skull and busting open. Coby looked over and saw that little prick was not moving as puddle of blood began to form form on the right side of his face, there was no way he could have survived that nasty fall.

That 'soon-to-be-raped' victim hightailed it out of there once Coby came into the picture and foiled their fun and pleasure. Even though Coby saved her from a brutal rape that girl is still traumatized because she was about to experience something awful. But hopefully she is strong and can try her hardest to forget about it. But what's worse is that she will have a difficult time explaining to her parents what she went through, she may never trust another boy again. These three boys already nearly ruined her life so they fucking got what they deserve!

Michael Chang, Joey Kim, and Phillip Lee, a trio of teenage Korean-American trash. Alot of Korean-Americans (NOT ALL, NOT MOST, BUT ALOT) can be two things: Either arrogant, meaning that they just rant on and on about their Korean heritage and how they are superior and a proud race. Or they are apathetic, which means they just don't care. But the ones that could be so arrogant, such as these three scumbags, they give Koreans (and meaning REAL Koreans, from the motherland) a bad name.
They're no different than the Cholo gangs that go on and on about their Mexican pride this and'Westside' that and when they get caught breaking the law and under arrest, they hide behind their civil rights and scream racist at the police so that the press can get a hold of it.

If they were a real Korean gang they wouldn't carry around guns like the one Joey tried to point at Coby before he twisted his switchblade into his abdomin. Real Korean gangs don't carry guns, they don't need them. In South Korea, you cannot even own a gun unless you are a policeman or a soldier. You can carry a rifle around for hunting but surely no gang really carries a weapon like that. And if they did carry a pistol and use it, then you're fucked. Because South Korea is a very small country, it is only a 4th shorter than Florida so there really is no point in running.

These three low level gangster wannabes were teenagers that disobey their parents, (that don't even spend enough time with them anyway) walk with a gangster attitude and an accent. These are the teenagers that are beyond rebellious towards not only their parents but also towards their teachers too. They wanted to be like those gangsters you see in the movies, they thought they were tough. What kind of gang would rape some innocent girl especially their own people? Its ironic that these are the type of kids that are all about Korean pride and yet they come from a broken home and do violent and very horrible things on the streets, they are no different than the Skinheads that go around attacking innocent minorites rather than the people that give the specific minorities a bad name.

Attempted rape was the same difference in Coby's eyes. Because putting that girl through this was going to wreck her life because if and when her parents find out what has happened to her she will be a prisoner in her own home until she's of legal age, not to mention the verbal abuse and lectures and the drama and how its unsafe to walk the streets. The poor girl would have to think up one good lie in order to cover up the bruises on her face and her ripped clothes. Poor Jenny Sun...

Coby quickly spotted his knife not too far from Joey since Michael completely threw himself at Coby like an angry ox, before grabbing a handful of the hood of Phillip's jacket to wipe the blood from the blade. He quickly had to get the hell out of there, as he quickly rushed down the stairs and darted down an alternate route through the alleyway. He ended up a few blocks away from the crime scene but surely enough he was close to the subway station, taking his route home. Coby stuck both hands in his pockets as he acted natural while walking down the stairway into the station. By the time the police went to the crime scene, the subway doors shut the minute Coby sat down and in the clear. Coby was very close to being caught that time, like most serial killers they get lazy and their work becomes sloppy.

Coby's "Work" is sloppy, he never was an artist, he doesn't do this for pleasure or a sexual relief. Coby walked up the stairway as he was already a few blocks away from his apartment. He walked underneath a bridge that he usually takes on his home route. There, he saw was a group of young teenagers that looked to be no older than 14 tops, break dancing to Scatman John's "Scatman's world", the music caught his attention as he stopped in his tracks and approached the group. The teenagers looked over but they thought he was just observing the scenery of entertainment, not to start trouble. Coby watched them work hard on their dancing movements, he tilted his head at them with that same blank look. The song lasted for about 3 minutes and 47 seconds when the song finally ended. Coby then approached the young kid that was working the stereo. "You need somethin'?" the young boy asked. Coby pointed at the cd that he just took out of the player before switching, but before the boy could answer Coby pulled out a $10 bill. The boy accepted and then handed it over. Coby took his new cd and then came back home while the rest of the group went on about their business.

Coby pulled his hood down and unzipped his jacket, he made sure that there was no blood on him from stabbing two teens earlier. Coby pulled up the sleeves of his jacket as he began washing his hands. He looked out his window because once in awhile he liked to look out the balcony a.k.a. fire escape. The glowing yellow light gave the balcony ledge some color to a portrait in his mind. But what made the 'portrait' even more interesting was a siamese cat that came into the picture and hopped up on the rail. It bounced it's tail a little on the rail up and down before licking it's shoulder. The cat then turned around and looked 'at' Coby. As if it could see right through him, knowing what he's doing. Coby never really got that kind of feeling before he met Lina, when she had 'gazed' at him. But she's blind, what could she know?

Coby went to bed after that, the next day after work he came home. He sat down at the kitchen table with his arms crossed as if he was staring at nothing. He finally stood up in the chair and picked up the cd he bought from last night from the table, perhaps he was staring at that. He picked up the keys as well before walking across the hall to Lina's apartment. He curled up his hand and knocked on the door.

Chapter 10: "Rainy Day Man"

Coby had begun to not want to be in his apartment lately, the place just seemed like there wasn't much of anything left there for him. Coby was then beggining to feel infected with a disease called "loneliness" like the rest of the world, nobody can tolerate being alone, but if you grew up with absolutely nobody to look up to then you don't tend to think about it. But when you meet somebody you actually like to spend time with, you start becoming paranoid of being alone; just like the rest of the infected world. Coby quickly shook off those thoughts, over the years he had 'imprinted' in his mind not to get close enough to anyone. That was the reason why he started to back away from Lina the other night when she touched his face. It was an unusual feeling to him, but a very strange sensation. Coby had not felt hands like that touch his face since being sent to the infirmary in the orphanage when the nurse took a look at the cuts and bruises Coby had suffered at the hands of Jeremiah.

Coby heard the door knob turn and then he shook off those feelings from the past once again. "Coby?" Lina asked as she opened the door, she was wearing a short black blouse with a white sweater and bright blue jeans with her white tennis shoes again. Coby had begun to think that she knew he was coming, perhaps she could "see" a specific person coming. Coby could lose his mind thinking this, but maybe its called "common sense" because the people that come over and knock on her doorstep would usually say who they are. Get a grip Coby! "I bought you a cd..." was Coby's only response. Coby moved his hand toward Lina's left hand since her other one was inside her apartment. She opened her hand and accepted the offer with a smile on her face showing that Coby was thoughtful. Coby just stood there without anything to say, and as usual Lina couldn't stand the silence. "Coby, would you like to join me for coffee again?" Lina once again said with an invitation. Why is Coby feeling paranoid again? Coby its not like she's luring you into some kind of trap! You're just not used to having a friend. "....Yes" Coby said after another two-second period, and again Lina opened the door for Coby to invite him inside.

Coby sat down at the table while Lina prepared them both a cup of coffie. It was raining outside and very hard, the light was on over the table, Lina really did know she was having company. Coby watched the rain from his chair while Lina was stirring in the honey, cream, and splenda. "Shall I turn on the radio for you?" Lina asked, Coby snapped out of his little trance state in order to send Lina a response as he turned his attention toward her. "No..." Coby said, Lina smiled and gave a friendly laugh "It's probably best that way, the rain is far too loud to listen to the music, and being that I am blind it would hurt my ears." Lina said while walking over to the table to sit down across from Coby. "My whole life, my ears had to also be my eyes" Lina said with a sip of coffee. "Sometimes I actually prefer to listen to the rain hit the ground, it's just like music" Lina said with a smile while taking another sip of coffee. Coby really didn't know what to say about that.

"Would you like to sit on the couch with me?" Lina offered, "My parents just bought this new couch for me, they said I would have something comfortable to rest on while I'm reading" she then said with a little snicker. "Ok.." Coby said as Lina lead him over to the new couch while holding one hand out to find the couch. Coby sat down on it while still staring at the coffee inside the mug, Lina reached her hand out and then set her coffee mug down on the small coffee table. She then turned around with one hand out feeling for the couch. Once her hands felt the surface of the the couch's upholstery, she turned around to sit. The two sat down together, Coby still being silent as usual. "I remember very long ago, my mom used to tell me that rainy days always brought out the best in people" Lina said as soon as she got comfortable enough on the couch. "My sisters used to complain that they couldn't go out and play, I never really understood what was so fun about playing outside, But I did learn that company was at best when it was raining" Lina finished as if she was reminiscing a slideshow of those wonderful memories through her mind.

Coby's attention drew towards her as if she may have struck a nerve. But as usual Coby is just not the type of man to share personal feelings. Sure, alot of men don't but Coby does not even fit that model. A heavy storm was coming in, a thunder clap rumbled through the sky. Coby looked up at the ceiling as Lina jumped a little, her hands instinctively grabbed onto Coby's arm. Sure back at home she sometimes grabbed her father or one of sisters when she was a very young child. She doesn't do that anymore because she always knew that her family was right there for her. But now that she's out on her own, it can be a little scary that they aren't there this time, so she just held onto him but not quite tightly enough to show that she was that frightened. She began to giggle "Sorry" she said feeling a little embarassed. A blind person can usually sense things coming, they usually don't fear things that a normal man can see. But once again, Lina may be blind but she is still a woman. But people still just can't seem to treat her like a normal person. They always have to feel sorry for people like her. But Coby appears to not 'show' that to her, perhaps she couldn't sense his feelings.

"...It's Ok" Coby responded, Lina let go of his arm still giggling. She then moved her hands to the coffee table while searching for her cup coffee mug. "I'm sure if you're around me long enough, I know I won't jump as much when lightening strikes" she said smiling before taking another sip of her coffee. Coby didn't quite understand what she meant as he turned his head to look at her once again...No, she couldn't be flirting with him, no way. It was obvious she had taken an interest in him but not like that. "You know, my mother always told me that everyone likes a good listener" she said as she rested her coffee mug in her hand while supporting it with the handle. "You don't really talk much, I guess that's why I like hanging around you." she said with a smile, although she was feeling rather shy about it, but everyone knows its a girl thing. "I don't mind being the one to talk, you don't complain." she said with another giggle. "Sometimes my friend Katie talks too much it just makes my ears hurt" she said with another sip of coffee. "Sure I calmly tell her off sometimes, but sometimes she can't help it" she continued, "We all have flaws, but flaws can also open windows for advantages, that's what my father always told me" Lina smiled. "As I grew up, I began to realize what he meant" she said taking another sip. Coby looked back up at the ceiling, listening to the rain.

It was 6:00 pm at night, it was pouring down very hard and noisy. Coby was driving his GMC Vendura through the road, he couldn't hardly make out the road very well. He pulled over in a small parking lot, this was a hiking ground. About a mile away from a wealthy neighborhood. Coby hiked through the woods part, he viewed the exact home that was right next to the woods He knew the steps back. Suddenly there was a knock at the door, a rather young enough woman approached the door, she was blonde and beautifu in a red cocktail dress. However, there is evil behind a beautiful mask. Just like Siren in Greek Mythology. "Who's there?" she asked out of concern since the power was out. "Police" Coby responded, the woman's eyes widened as if she was a little frightened, as if there was something she had to hide. "Maam, there has been reported of a suspected murder in this area, and I am authorized to take a look around this community" Coby added while that woman was too busy trying to get her act together to put on a 'mask' to cover up the recent events that she doesn't want anybody to find out about. She opened up the door, but her paranoia got the best of her, she was met with a severe blow to the nose, Coby then forced his way inside the house and then zapped that bitch with a stungun.

After 3 seconds of thousands of volts, Coby looked over his shoulder and walked back up to the front door. He poked his head out to make sure the coast is clear of nosey neighbors that have nothing better to do then to stick their fat noses in other people's business. Coby looked left to right and even took one or two seconds of a glance at the house across the street before closing the door and turning the 3 different locks, sealing the fate of that woman. Coby took off his shoes and then his shirt and jacket before approaching that woman while she's helpless. He grabbed 'Blondie' (yes, that will be her name for now) by her wrists across the carpet. Coby then walked back into the kitchen and dug through the drawers, his hunting came to an end when he found a roll of duct tape and closed the drawer as he walked back to Blondie's temporarily neutralized body. Coby taped both of Blondie's wrists and held them down with one hand as he pulled a his switchblade from his back pocket. "What do you want!?" said Blondie, "If you want money I have plenty" she pleaded, Coby stared back down at her with those cold eyes he put the blade up to the side of her face as it began to slowly dig into her skin. "No Please!" she shrieked. Even though she was rich and lots of women work out these days but Coby was still stronger. In Chinese customs there is a saying often used, "Losing Face", That term is about the worst you could ever say to your children. It pretty much means "You've disgraced me" or "You've dishonoured me" or "You embarass me" or to be very short and simple "You sicken me". This custom is also found in other Asian customs as well and is also used in other areas, not just families, such as the working industry and other sources of social activities. Blondie screamed as Coby had already begun to inflict agonizing pain, his blade was carving a pattern around the shape of her face, as if later he may want to rip her face completely off. He then stopped for a second to wipe the blood off of the blade off onto her cocktail dress "Are you a friend of Trevor's!?" she asked before Coby began to continue his work, not showing any bit of emotion.

"Ok, I killed Trevor...But you don't know what its like to be born with nothing!" She said now confessing while at Coby's mercy. Suddenly the sound of a baby's cry could be heard coming from upstairs, apparently it had been woken up by Blondie's screams. Coby's grip on Blondie kept its stronghold, there was no way she could escape. "Please don't! I have a kid! I promise to raise him right!" was her last words before Coby couldn't stand to to hear anymore of her wretched voice when he stabbed her square in the heart where it should not exist and then gave it one hard twist. How dare she use the child as an excuse to live! You think that means anything to Coby? A snake is a fucking snake to a mongoose. And Blondie was a prime example of a "Queen Cobra". If there was anything he hated more than the filth of Sunset City, it was women who knew how to really throw a monkey wrench in someone's ambitious gears. This is what he really despised very much, and people say that harming women is wrong? Coby reached into his jacket and then pulled out a tape recorder. He rewound the tape until he heard a click and then placed it on her chest. That way, when the cops find her they can listen to her little confession. Coby not only took her life but also her reputation, she was proven to be nothing more than a snake. Apparently, she had a child with Trevor Swanson. She must have had some sort of plan to do with that baby, possibly to control it and manipulate it into something just as rotten as her! Either Coby had set that child free from a life of corruption or maybe one day after that child reaches adult hood, it will come and pay a special suprised visit to Coby. But chances of the happening are slim, Coby would tell it that it's mother killed it's father and milked all his assets like the cold blooded bitch she was. Or Coby might not even be alive by that time because either he would be murdered in prison for these so called 'Crimes', Executed by the state, or murdered by some other criminal on the street that he will try to claim in the future. But if this chance happens, Coby will be prepared for it. But then again, Conner will more than likely be taken in by Trevor's parents and raised properly like the rest of today's children. Coby once again cleaned the blood off of that blade in the sink before putting his shirt back on along with his jacket and shoes. He closed the blade back into the handle before walking out the back door. What did you think he was going to cut her face completely off!? She never had one to begin with! As Billy Idol once wrote, 'You are Eyes Without A Face'. Coby had pressed the "P" button for police, he took off down the alley. It was scary running through the storm. Nobody paid particular attention to him, they were too busy lighting candles and telling ghost stories in the living room since there isn't much of anything else to do during a power outage in a st0rm. Some of the dogs barked at him while running through the alley, most of them could either be in a garage or in the house. But surely in this kind of neighborhood, would some pet owners keep their dogs outside during this storm?

Coby made it to the woods as he began to backtrack back to the van and more than likely the Police wouldn't investigate that area since its during a storm and might look a little suspicious. Blondie by now will be known as Hillary Swanson, 35-year old gold digger, she hit the jackpot when she married a successful stock broker, 38 year-old Trevor Swanson. It was obvious she didn't really love him, but that money really made her into every man's nightmare. The Stock market was a success everybody was getting what they needed, but everyone knows that was too good to be true. They were having a a celebration, glass of whine, possibly it was
