... but still I am curious, since I suspect there would be a number of folk here with at least some experience in this... Or the reverse of it.
What are good ways to both heal/repair and re-open the heart chakra?

Yes, I would like more information. You have provided a list of tools but not a means to use them. Thus my initial question stands.

Sorry about that, I wasn't feeling too well when I listed those and just ran out of energy. Later today I will try to post more information. Some of the best things you can do is place the corresponding stone over your heart, stimulate your sense of smell, have the corresponding colors around you, take a deep breath, visualize your heart and the energy flowing through it and meditate quietly. You don't have to spend a great deal of time in meditation, just 10 minutes will do.

I've got rather a large amount of information here at my fingertips... (Not from online) I can go through it a bit later and post some information if you like, right now I'm on my way to work.
Take care

Visualize the colors/shades of green radiating from inside your heart outward-taking away any toxins, pains and negativity.
Visualize healing with soft light any areas of injury. See the injury in your mind's eye and then visualize it healing and use the soft light energy to do so. Fill your whole body up with soft green, glowing light from the heart.
If you're talking about the proverbial broken heart related to love, that is not centered in your heart chakra, but between ones' brow and crown chakras. If its related to love, use pastel pinks and lilac colors while visualizing forgiveness, understanding, faith that everything happens for a reason and the release/expulsion of the pain. Imagine wholeness of yourself once again.
I hope that helps.
