We discussed magic systems in adjacent thread, and after reposting my own system I suddenly decided to resurrect my old RP based on, amongs other things, this system. The world is called The Dawn, it's the official name used by it's inhabitants.
It's quite close to our in terms of technology and social levels, but slightly ahead, especially in implementation of ecological tech. In other words, it's a beautiful pure world, and it's only problem is people. Multiple groups, countries and international corporations struggle for control over lands, resources and people in "modern diplomacy" style. In the middle of this whole "kiss and punch" faggotry, a new power arises. Few individuals graced with inhuman powers seek their place in the world that they thought they mastered. Young and powerful, they face perils and... blah blah blah
Seriously, it's not that epic. Just a few people in big world, feeling out of place, being just too powerful to be left alone.
If the game starts, it would be called "Chronicles of Chaos and Order: First Dawn" cuz I just like pathos, lol.
We need 8 or more players to finish the game, but to start 2 would be enough. I'll be master until some moment in which I can put my character in.
Join plz. I promise that would be fun.
Critical character patterns in next post.
This here is the core magic system of Dawn World. It also defines critical characters, because we need one of each element to reach the goal.
Eight elements, divided in two groups- chaotic and lawful, and paired by mutual antagonism. Each element has it's flaws and edges, and affects character's personality. Here we go:
********************************************************************************
**
White-Life.
Chaotic. Healing and protection. Ability to fly (angel wings), powerful healing abilities. Fells all the pain he\she inflicts.
Compassionate, but naive. Values life above all else.
Black-Death.
Lawful. Offence and assassination. Ability to move at near-relative speeds(shadow burst), l33t stealth skillz, immunity to pain, infinite stamina, immune to moderate environment damage (drowning, freezing(short of liqud nitrogen), overheating (within 150 Celcius) etc.)
Decisive, but violent. Values reaching the goal above all else.
Red-Blood.
Chaotic. Offence and seduction. Able to modify biological processes withing own and others' bodies(blood magic), able to influence the organic level of mind(instincts, reflexes), superhuman strength and agility.
Cheerful, but selfish. Values power.
Violet-Mind.
Lawful. Able to influence minds, alter senses and decieve. Can force visions on people, including tap of eyes and fake attacks. Can read minds, effectively predicting opponents' moves.
Wise, but detached(elitism). Values knowledge.
Orange-Fire.
Chaotic. Able to control and summon fire, icluding fireballs, igniting non-flammable objects and other heat manipulations. Immune to any temperature damage. Inhumanly fast, with high yet natural strength.
Purposeful, but unstable(fire rage). Values victory.
Blue-Water.
Lawful. Controls water and ice, including melting own body and reassembling it, water and ice projectiles\walls, freezing objects with touch, etc. Immune to frost and concussion damage.
Calm and stable, but indifferent. Values peace.
Grey-Wind.
Chaotic. Able to control atmosphere within any volume(energy spent proportional to space influenced), able to produce huge volumes of electrical energy from own body. Inhuman speed and reaction.
Quick thinker, but forgetful. Values freedom.
Green-Earth.
Lawful. Able to control plants and animals, turn own body into stone, erect stone formations from ground. Extremely high physical strength and resilience.
Loyal, but stubborn. Values natural order.
***********************************************************************
Few words about putting Dawn System in play:
Death mage is the most limited class, generaly an undead assassin with little to none active abilities. They prefer ranged weapons, mostly silenced heavy sniper rifles, although Shadow Burst gives them advantage in one-on-one melee, which they utilize by fast attacks with daggers or short swords. General tactics is sniping and stealth.
Life mage is pure support class, with powerful healing abilities and near-impenetrable Wing Shield move counterbalanced by unblockable ability to feel pain of people in proximity, including enemies. Preferred weapon is quarterstaff. General tactics is shielding and supporting the partner or squad, and using Light Burst to blind and distract enemies while fleeing.
Water mages are rarely seen in combat, prefering a diplomatic approach to situation, but when forced to fight, rely on repeated attacks to erode opponent's resources and resolve and force them to surrender. Weapons of choice are longbow with magic-empowered arrows and "Wave-sword", longsword with multi-curved blade.
Fire mage is attack in it's purest form, the most offensive class. Battle rage, combined with speed and fire power(and firepower, lol). Weapons of choice are double metallic claws, attached to wrists and either heated to plasma temperatures or just summoned in pure flame form, and twin rapid-fire submachine guns. General tactics is using active powers (like fireballs) or firearms to supress enemy defence while closing in for rapid flanking attack.
Earth mages specialise in static and dynamic defence.They use their near-infinite resilience to damage and ability to erect stones to create cover for other team members or to close in for crushing melee attack. Weapons of choice are cleaving polearms (i.e. bardiche) and heavy rapid fire weapons like machineguns and autocannons.
Wind mages prefer to counter their opponents' moves by sending storms and lightings at them. While on offence, they use their agility to avoid hits, confuse and distract their opponents. Their attacks are unstructured and weak, but too fast and vast-numbered to be countered. Weapons of choice are light handguns and barbed light metal chains used as whips.
Mind mages are usually seen as squad leaders, which reflects their innate analytical abilities. They use their powers and intellect to determine opponents' next moves and adapt their squad's tactics to reach maximum effectiveness. They rarely fight alone, and even less often- in one-on-one fights, but when they do, they make use of their powers by dodging opponents attacks, then counterattacking at the moments of opportunity without taking any damage. Weapons of choice are mid-range precision firearms, such as high-caliber carbines, and simple longswords.
Blood mages' combat techniques reflect their sadistic nature. Most often they are seen swiftly charging into the middle of enemy formation and tearing foes apart with blades or even bare hands. They also turn their dreadful powers against opponents, causing people's blood to boil or draining their stamina to the point of fainting. Weapons of choice are arm-attached curved blades and flesh-tearing firearms like shotguns and light grenade launchers.

That's pretty much it.

If I may, I call blood; I'm in a rather seductive mood as of late ;) Let's see:
Name: Maximilian (Max)
Age: 22
Upbringing: As a child, Max was lavished with his every desire. He's jealous and selfish, yet in the same right takes care of his own. He despises orders and seeks first his own fulfillment. He's reckless yet precise and not afraid to own up to his mistakes, the few times he makes them.
Education: A master of subterfuge, Max sought out brains over brawn. Yet although he stayed off of the football team, he's a fitness freak and satisfied his bloodlust in subtler ways. He's a lover of the arts, especially poetry and a keen scholar of the classics.

Mar 2 2008, 10:15 PM
Name: Paulico
Age: 15
Bio: Paulico had always been the outsider. He was an only child, always got picked last in gym class and ate his lunch with the only two friends he had. He understood others very well but was not the kind to enjoy having many friends. He thought that the more people he had to be kind to the more people could be a niuscance to him. Very machiavelic by nature, he prefered tricking people into doing what he wanted rather than letting them know what he thought.
Although he is fairly fit he prefers to go for a walk in the woods and spend his time committing his surroundings to memory than participate in a competitive event. When bothered into playing the occasional game of paintball he likes to choose the location, so he has the advantage of playing on familiar landscape.

2 Regard: Nice one. Even though I though Blood mage to be female, this guy is kinda good too.
2 Gravefalcon: 15 is a little too young, at least 17, plz. Also, Mind mage is supposed to be wise and experinced (or at least planning to major in psychology, lol)
About georaphy: I was too lazy to draw continents anew, so we're basically staying on the same planet we are now. But I was determined enough to think up a new set of countries and nations. City names\positions stay pretty much the same, nations drift and mix like they do today. Use this in expanding your character bio. So here we go:
-Unity of Free Cities
Called Unyte for short. Multi-leveled democracy, with elected president and parliament, and powerful municipalities. While each city is virtually autonomous, the country as a whole is very uniform, with no local legislation faggotry like in US. Homeland of Nord nation. Territory: Scandinavia, modern Finland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Nederlands, Baltic countries, Czechia and Slovakia.
-Valor Kingdom.
Or just Valor (accent on the "o"). Monarchy ruled by King Eric (oh, surprise!) Valor. Pure monarchy with little to none democratic institutes, yet one of the most politically stable countries in the world (maybe because it was established about 30 years ago, but more likely because the king is smart guy who actually
cares about his people). Homeland of Valorean and Draken nations. Territories: France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Balkans, Greece, Romania, Moldova. Southern parts (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece) are populated by mostly Draken people, while other territories' population majority is Valorean. Territory of modern United Kingdom is called Celtic Isles, is semi-autonomous from Valor and populated almost purely by Celts.
-Ross Confederation.
What to say? Scary country where brown and white bears in ushanka hats walk the streets, playing balalaykas and drinking vodka right from the bottle.

Just kidding.
Presidential democracy. That means president gets to decide pretty much everything, everyday and people get to decide which president they want, once in five years. Country with strong military and surprisingly, not violent about it. Divided into regions, each ruled by gouvernor assigned personaly by president. Territories: European part of modern Russia, Slavic states (Belarus, Ukraine), northern part of Kazakhstan, some territories beyond Ural mountains (and currently expanding). Generally, from North Pole to Black Sea and from eastern borders of Unyte to the ever-changing frontier line in Siberia. Populated generaly by Ross, with some Draken and Persian influx near south-western borders and Tatars spread and assimilated in south-eastern regions.
-Persian Empire
Theocratic and feudalistic state, where everyone are under one god and one emperor. And under the emperor (and all around him)- FAGGOTRY, TONS OF IT. Feuds and power struggles tear the country apart, and the working people suffer while nobles play each other around. Medieval-style illustration of "life is unfair" axiom. Territories: modern Middle East, Turkey, Iran, northern part of Africa and expanding further south. Populated by Persians and Nox.
-Heavenly Union. (obvious pun "Heavenly Empire", a self-name for China, and Soviet Union)
A totalitary socialism in its purest form, living by "Person is nothing, society is everything" motto, this country turns everything it has into power, be it highest population total, second position in territory rating or huge emigration flows. Latter is due to enormous amounts of faggotry that happens there: bureaucracy, plan-based economical system and the constant lack of critical supplies that goes with it, gouvernment officially not giving a fuck about its people, and so on. Territories: southern half of Kazakhstan, everything on east of Iran through to the eastern coas of China, from frontier line north of today's Mongolia to the shores of Australian continent. Populated generally by Azns (reads "asians"), and Hindu at Hindu Peninsula. Hindu aren't happy with the totalitary gouvernment, but are too lame to do something about it on their own.
-Nihon
The word explains it all. For those, whp don't get it, imagine Japan
with army. Yeah, that OH SHI~ was totally correct reaction. Anyway, Nihon is a militaristic totalitary monarchy, where "God-Emperor demands" is so much NOT a joke, that it would scare the shit out of even the most hardcore Imperium-oriented Warhammer 40k-geek. Territories: not much, and
extremely violent about it. Japan, Kuril isles, Micronesia (all the small isles between Indonesia and America), Hawaii, eastern coast of Asian continent and rapidly expanding.
And finally, the most tasty ones:
-Free States of North.
Sue me for not calling USA the United States. This country looks like structured democracy, but on the inside, this is feudalism. Small states, almost completely independent from anything, fighting for lands, forming and breaking alliances. The only thing that still keeps that small local brawls from turning into civil war of epic proportions is the cold, calculative power of international corporations. Territories: the whole North America continent. Populated by Yankees (ya, rly)
-Southern Federative Republic
Or just SFR for short. A prosperous, fast-growing and relatively happy country, gouverned by elected parliament, residing on one of Caribbean isles. Parliamental democracy system gives this country near-absolute political stability and socially active population, strong in their will to improve the world. As an additional benefit, SFR recieves steady flow of immigrants from all parts of the world, due to the so-called "Southern Idea"- a part of local constitution declaring that only two things are required to become a citizen of SFR: will to be a good, lawful citizen, and knowledge of IntL- international language taught as second language in almost every school aroung the world. Territories:Caribbeans isles, South America and Antarctica (pretty much everything south of Guatemala-Gonduras border).

That's it.

Details on nations will be posted later.

GRoM, I figured Blood Mage was a female too, but I didn't want to sound cliche and pick Death :P Though I am more than willing to relinguish my choice to the latter if a suitable female were to take my place ;)
BlackBladeGroM
Mar 3 2008, 12:33 PM
Death is not cliche. Actually, it's the least playable character, for you'd have to actually know shit about sniping and stealth tactics. And I kinda wanted to play it myself, character being developed and tried in many other RPs.
Anyway, waiting for more detailed bio.

BlackBladeGroM
Mar 3 2008, 04:23 PM
You misunderstood. There is nothing "emo" and just a little "ninja" about Death mage. He's more like robot, automata in superhuman body, cold and calculating. No regret, no remorse, no doubt. Effectiveness in murder and impotence in general life.

Just give me until tonight to think of a good bio, please.
BlackBladeGroM
Mar 3 2008, 07:33 PM
Aww, nice. We got ourselves a lil' miss vamp! Verily welcomed!
Detailed bio would enclude birthplace and a path from there to now, nation and other biometry data. Battle tactics and weapons are abundant right now, as the only not-completely-civilian-at-the-beginning character is Death mage, and he's left shirtless by the beginning of the game.
Also, few plot hooks. Death mage is male in early 30s (important), works for mercenary corporation called A.R.E.S. and is the best there is in the field of killin' people. Blood mage is a reporter (not necessary) and gets caught in terrorist-assaulted school. Life mage is a medic of some kind (nurse, maybe), also should look angelic, so I suggest Nord genetics (tall, blonde, fair skin). Fire mage can be some kind of arena fighter (not classic box, plz, it's so lame). Also need Life and Fire start simultaneoulsy, as their plotlines are kinda linked.
And the big surprise: the plot starts with characters' deaths. Ya rly. Will describe in initial IC post as soon as we get started.

Bio: Born and raised in the Valor Kingdom, Paulico has always considered peace to be a nescessity. He was raised in the "heel" of Italy but born in spain. He remembers very little of the three years he spent in his home town.
Paulico had always been the outsider. He was an only child, always got picked last in gym class and ate his lunch with the only two friends he had. He understood others very well but was not the kind to enjoy having many friends. He thought that the more people he had to be kind to the more people could be a niuscance to him. So sorry to keep you waiting.
Name: Niko Smith
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Element: Blood
Nationality: Valorean
Personality: Extrovert, party girl, short tempered
Bio: Niko was born in Romainia and still carries a light accent. Her family was middle class compared to everyone else. She was taught the history of the Valorean land, as well as different fighting skills. She had a bit of a short temper ever since she was little.
Niko was always the center of attention. She had a gift of seduction, being able to get what she wanted from anyone through either her body language or her sheer will and determination. Her job now as a reporter suits her need for attention. Never growing out of that short temper, she has small episodes where she goes completely ballistic and very few people can stop her.

I thought I should go over nations, give details so you people consider what nation to geclare for you chars.
Nord.
Think vikings. Tall, heavily built, pale, fair-haired. Any shade of blue for eyes. Personalities: mostly booringly lawful, with some exceptions to both funny and agry sides.
Valoreans.
Average European people. Average heights and builds, any variations of hair and eye color, with lighter being more common, skin colours- nothing out of normal for white race. Personalities: variable, but generally cheerful and open-minded people.
Draken.
South Europeans, lol. Rarely taller than 180, mostly dark hair and eyes. Personalities: very emotional people, warm an welcoming, often give in to emotions, but quickly calm down.
Ross.
The bear-people (no, not really). Usually tall and mildly muscular (although natural strongmen are fairly common), with medium or light brown hair and hazel or black eyes. Personalities: generally calm, but open and welcoming, very cooperative and allways ready to give a hand.
Persians.
Your average Arab. Small in stature, with invariably black hair and eyes, skin darker than of most other nations (except for Nox and Hindu). Personalities: hospitable and generally friendly, but very selfish and tricky.
Nox.
Black people. Pretty much variable physiques, with tall skinny type being more common than others, dark eyes, black curly hair, skin of any shade of brown from dark beige (half-bloods) to blueish black (midland tribes). Personalities: generally agressive and territorial, xenophobic to some extent, tend to get violent.
Hindu.
Strange nation. Mostly medium heights, mildly muscular builds, dark skin and hair but European-type facial features. Personalities: benevolent, friendly, passive, tend to get philosophic, open-minded.
Azn.
(do I really need to write this?). Small, skinny, dark-hazel eyes, small facial features, yellow-ish shades of skin. Personalities: close-minded, with social-centric views on life, very nationalistic and isolationistic.
Nihon.
The Samurai, lol. Statistically taller than average Azns, with more muscular builds and heavier facial features. In other regards- same Aznz. Personalities: outright crazy. Largely egomaniacal, with overly strong sense of honour and complete disregard for life, be it their own or others'.
...will finish this later in the morning...

Ok so I read through this and being a mjor RP fan that is definately looking for an authentic STRUCTURED RP this sounds right up my frellin alley. So Grom you have attracted my supreme and FULL attention. So onto my pick, after reading through on who is what I have picked that my best option for using one of my tried and true characters, even though with some modifications to make it fit in the RP, I have chosen to take up Fire if it is not spoken for already and I missed it. So as onto my Bio (you'll love this)
Name: Kasai Tsuwamono (Red Warrior in actual Japanese translation)
Age: 27
Nationality: (take a guess) Nihon
Element: Fire
Personality: Same as that to most of the Warriors of Nihon, but Kasai's sense of honor goes above and beyond that of his fellow warriors and his anger is as easy to upset as it is for a heart to beat. Kasai takes even the smallest indignation towards him as a large insult to his personal honor and will challenge whomever insulted him in a battle to the death. He believes himself beyond the cpabilities of most of the warriors and he burns (no pun intended) with a passion to prove it.
Upbringing: Kasai was raised by a small family in the Nihon that was born of two daughters before him, and him being the only son. He was punished harshly for any mistakes that he made by his father and was raised on what many call, the edge of the sword. So true to it in fact, that even at a young age he bears many scars from the tip of his father's sword and a reminder of his past digressions. He was finally inducted as an official warrior of the Nihon nation on his eighteenth birthday and celebrated it virasciosly, until his own father called him a fool to celebrate such a small event in his life. Outraged Kasai challenged his father to a battle to the death and drew his sword. After accepting the challenge, Kasai and his father stepped outside and into the main courtyard of the the city. Kasai knew better than to attack first, because his father had always taught him on an old proverb. 'The tiger that jumps to early starves, while the one that waits will eat well.' After what had seemed like an eternity his father attacked. It took three nights before the battle ended, and Kasai rose the victor his father's severed head in his right hand, his father's sword in his left. From there Kasai rose through the warrior ranks quickly, often challenging his superiors to battle for their ranking, but always Kasai came out on top. The Elders of the Nihon nation feared Kasai lust for violence and finally sent Kasai on a quest to which he was not to return until he had completed it. They gave him no knowledge of what he was supposed to do, but only told him that he was to travel west, and that the spirits of his ancestors would tell him what his quest was. So it was the next day Kasai left traveling with his father's sword and armor, headed west, into lands unknown to him, outside of his knowledge, prepaired to do what he must. Yet as he traveled, a trail of bodies was left in his wake, killing any who would give him even the slightest insult.
Ok so I hope that works, if I need to fix anything let me know. It took me two hours to come up with the altered bio, but I like the way this is turning out. If I need to change anything or pick another element let me know. I went with Nihon and Fire because with the honor, ego, and disregard for life, they sounded the most compatable (sp?) oh yeah spelling isn't the greatest, but I will try to type my posts out in Word before I post em here. Hope it works. Thnx.

OMFG!
Well, it was a wild guess to take Nihon warrior as Fire mage. I myself suggested street-bred Celt involved with fight sports. But, nevertheless, this guy sounds right, even though I recommended characters with no military experience. One thing needs fixing, though. This guy is overly too violent, and wouldn't survive anywhere with such an attitude. In the world of informational technology and mercenary corporations leaving a trail of bodies is the sure way to end this trail with your own. Also, Nihon is a high-tech country.
So, the point of cover story is, that Kasai is headed West out of Nihon continental expansion zone. I suggest getting him into Ross or H.U. and making him a little bit more civilian, at least in appearance.

Right-o no problem with that, I can fix it, just give me a day, dealing with a last minute family emergency, but I will get it fixed. As you can tell from the post I am very much into detailed structured RP. You can blame my eighth grade english teacher for forcing me to expound on a short story, that went from a page and a half to fifty-six pages, wrote in 12pt font on Microsoft word. (yay windows 3.5!) Haha, but it kinda stuck with me since. Not all my posts are 3 or more paragraphs, but they are usually at least one and a half to two. So I will fix the bio as soon as I can, including changing the military background bit, thought you had meant that for just Grave's Character, but it is easy enough to edit. I won't alter my original post I will just pop up a new one. But I'm glad I got even a OMFG out of ya. LOL

OK family emergency foiled, so here it is the new and improved Bio for Kasai. Hope this works out better for you.
Name: Kasai Tsuwamono

Part of his raising by his father was the passing down of the family knowledge of Za Gijutsu sono Tsurugi (The Art of the Sword).
On his eighteenth birthday, he celebrated voraciously, until his own father called him a fool to celebrate such a trivial event in his life. Outraged Kasai challenged his father to a battle to the death and drew his sword. After accepting the challenge, Kasai and his father stepped outside and into the main courtyard of the city. Kasai knew better than to attack first, because his father had always taught him on an old proverb. 'The tiger that jumps to early starves, while the one that waits will eat well.' After what had seemed like an eternity his father attacked. It took three nights for the battle to end. Finally Kasai arose the victor with his father's severed head in his right hand, and his father's sword in his left. From that point Kasai had lost what little control of his anger he had. Often he would challenge any who would insult him, and most of the time it would lead to their deaths, yet always Kasai came out as the victor.
Though he prefers to use his father’s sword in fighting, he is highly talented with most firearms, and at one time, beat the Imperium’s best hunter in a shooting match to see who was the better marksman. Kasai also usually carries with him two specially designed handguns, which carry more punch than a .50 caliber Desert Eagle. As well as a high-powered, bolt action Winchester rifle, with ballistic tip rounds.
The Elders of the Nihon nation feared Kasai’s lust for violence and finally sent Kasai on a quest to which he was not to return until he had completed it. They gave him no knowledge of what he was supposed to do, but only told him that he was to travel west, and that the spirits of his ancestors would tell him what his quest was. So it was the next day Kasai left; traveling west, into lands unknown to him, outside of his knowledge, and prepared to do what he must. As he travels he keeps his 'arsenal' hidden away, but always easily accessed, and in the guise of a simple traveler. The first place that he encounters on his journey is the south-eastern most part of the Heavenly Union territory.
As I said, I hope this works better.

Yeah, that's better. Weapons will change over the course of play, but for the start that's good.
Now, let's write IC. First post should end in character death.

Ok question. call me stupid if it sounds like it, do you mean our characters death?
BlackBladeGroM
Mar 12 2008, 07:43 AM
I mean that character gets into situation that ends up in his death, preferrably violent. The actual death happens on a date of 15 of August of year 34 ND (15.08.34), but may be a result of sickness or trauma sustained earlier.

Aww, k'mon. I need better than that.
First, lurk moar. Srsly, at least figure out the proper Russian name. I know, it sounds cruel, because me and Adversa are the only two actual Russians in this thread, and two of three that I know of on the whole Darkness, but can't you just google it, plox?! And while you're at it, get a political map of the world in 1000x1000 or higher definition (for reference on borders and locations) and look up names of Russian regions and cities, because it will help you get to the detail in (at least) your soon-to-be-better bio).
Second, MOAR DETAIL FFS. Copy-pasting piece of class reference sheet does NOT count as any part of bio. Also, she wouldn't have that powers untill near the end of game (or else it will be so Mary Sue and generally ghey).
Third (an expansion to "lurk moar" in first), read the thread. I posted a template for char bios up there. For additional example, I'm posting a bio for Death mage character.
Name: Alexander Pushkin, more known as Alex Denton
Age (at the beginning of the game): 32 and half
Gender: Male (also straight as nails)
Nationality: Ross
Element: Death
Personality: Detached and professional about anything, leans to violent solutions of problems, heartless.
Bio: Born as a first child to a middle-class family, raised on the streets, he noticed some talents in himself really early. One of those was a talent to sneak up on people and get away unnoticed. Another was precision shooting. Combined with lack of care for anyone, that led him to escaping to Unyte at the age of 15 and enrolling into prestigious university under fake identity. When he was disclosed a couple of month after, a recruiting party from A.R.E.S. PMC shown some interest in him. After a brief jailtime he was released for a hefty fine and enrolled into Norland Academy, branch of A.R.E.S. training division. Natural talents and years of training eventually made him the best and the longest active assassin of A. division, with 300+\1 success rating and 16-year record of continuous service. He worked alone until 32 ND, when he took a girl- one of the best A. trainees- as his personal apprentice and partner.
Last known position: A.R.E.S. Unyte HQ
That's how it's done, kids.

And the promised continuation to nations chart:
Celts.
Enigmatic people from western islands of Valor. Widely variable in stature, with pale skin and, frequently, peckles, hair in colors from light hazel through blood-red right to sunny light orange, strange eye colours like orange, violet or emerald green. Thin facial features. Personalities: kinda "enlightened", but never elitist about it, friendly and caring, often into philosophy and weird shit.
Yankees (I just couldn't resist the lulz X-D)
What can you say... them's just them. Mix of every other nationality in the world, with european genes prevailing over other. Personalities: selfish, arrogant and violent about their beliefs (whatever it may be).
Aztek
The people of the Southern Federative Republic. Slender, but athletic builds, darker skin, though more from tan than from actual genetic colour, dark hair, slightly asiatic facial features. Personalities: inventive, hard-working, quick-thinking, with usually sharp sense of humour, like to party.
That pretty much ends it. Use, amend, but don't abuse.

*runs and pounces* "Grom, I have missed you so much, I am so happy to see you back in RP"
I want in if I may please.
I want to assume the role of Life Mage please
Bio to follow:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Cathleen Amaranth
Age: 22
Nationality: Celtic
Element: White- Life
Appearance: 5 "8" 130lbs average body type. Bright Red flowing hair down past shoulders. Eyes are emerald green and deep. Pale skin, ivory, porcelain and flawless. Her lithe body is covered in a white flowing gown, a sheer, silky material hugging her body, the hem hanging loose and flowing around her bare feet, a lavender shawl covering her shoulders and arms. Her wings are a vibrant white and silver mixture of color, normally kept pulled in to her back so as not to attract attention. Her weapon of choice is a quarterstaff made entirely out of amethyst and inlaid with seven gems of varying color to represent the seven main chakras of the body.
Bio: Cathleen had been raised in a town near the Celtic Isles, and her heritage was deeply rooted within her. She had grown up a lover of all living things, and had been taught how to be a true Lady by her mother, for whom she had been named. But at the age of eight, her town had been attacked and her entire family murdered, the town itself falling during what would come to be called a 'raid.' Cathleen herself lay bleeding and dying in the burning ruins of her home, yet her body refused to die. It was then a voice called to her and a light appeared, a bright white light which seemed to force the flames surrounding her retreat. "Do you want to live?" the voice asked her. Too weak to respond, she merely thought, Yes. The being within the light moved forward, taking on a more substantial form and knelt before her, white robes covering the woman's body, pure white wings surrounding Cathleen in a warm embrace. "Then allow me to take your pain, and serve the Light forevermore." Again, she could only respond in her mind, yet the being seemed to hear it.
The woman then leaned down to her and lifted her body into her arms as if she weighed no more than one of the soft feathers of her wings. Then a flash of light covered them and the pain was suddenly gone. No sound, no feeling, no pain, just peace. As the being before her sat her upright on her feet, she noticed her body was whole again. No burns, no wounds, she was completely whole.
"You must be warned though," the being spoke softly to her. "You will forever feel the pain of others around you, and any pain you inflict upon another shall be visited back to you in turn."
An itch at Cathleen's back had her stretching her arms around to scratch it, yet her hands came into contact with silk, or at least that's what it felt like. When she turned her head she saw them: the most beautiful wings, pure white and silver feathers making them look almost ethereal.
The being smiled at her expression of wonder as Cathleen experimented with moving her new wings. "Your wings will be your most valued asset in dangerous times. You'll be able to carry your comrades to safety and cast a Wing Shield, which will protect your companions in dire times. And you also will learn in time to use your ability to manipulate the Light energy to temporarily blind your foes when needed."
Cathleen bowed her head, but when she looked up, the being was gone and the flames of her home had ceased to burn. A dread silence settled in her ears as she walked over the burnt rubble of her former residence. The town was in ruins, its inhabitants dead or near death. She wished she could help them, save them, but it was too late, even to heal them. Her only choice was to head to the Celtic Isles and hope for sanctuary there. And as she felt the last lifeforce in the town move on she felt the last part of that old life die with them. And with that she spread her wings wide, and with a leap and a thrust of her wings she took to the skies, leaving her home in search of her place in this new life.
[I'll pick up my place in the story from here, kay?]
zOMG! Cath! So nice to see you!
Correct your bio plz, it's nice but slightly unfit. Point is: the character is normal human, adult, getting killed and then waking up at location unknown to him and relatively far from the place of death. Abilities manifest spontaneously, with no explaination. No weapons right now, no powers that they know of. This is the very beginning. They understand their abilities as they go.
Also, some char-specific details: Life mage is taller than average (6' or more), bright red hair turn to snow white upon rebirth and for life, wings are immaterial most of time and summoned by will. They are also impenetrable and kinda huge (16ft. wingspan, that's why she must be tall). Also would be nice of her to have some hands-on medical experience.
If you want her to die in a raid, place her somwhere on Nox territories or in Siberia frontier. No "raids" in Valor territories, civilized country.
Anyway, good to see you back on the internets.
Tobias
Mar 20 2008, 03:24 PM
LOL, hey Grom, it's Tobias, her mate. She had me write that up for her and I didn't know the exact details of your RP, mainly the dying and rebirth part. I'll fix it later this evening when I get off from work, or in the next couple of hours if I have time.
If you'd like, unless you have something specific for the storyline, could she start regaining memories of how this event took place after she was dead?
And does this mean all characters must have died and been reborn?
BlackBladeGroM
Mar 21 2008, 06:19 AM
Yes that does mean characters die. Nothing comes easy, lol.
There IS a specific storyline. All mage characters die and are reborn on the same day, 15.08.34, but in different places. Then, over time, they get together, learn about their abilities, learn to control them, and so on.
Name: Cathleen Amaranth
Age: 22
Nationality: Celtic
Element: White- Life
Appearance: 6 "1" 130lbs average body type. Bright Red flowing hair down past shoulders. Eyes are emerald green and deep. Pale skin, ivory, porcelain and flawless.
Bio: Cathleen was raised in a town near the Celtic Isles, and her heritage was deeply rooted within her. She had grown up a lover of all living things, and had been taught how to be a true lady by her mother, for whom she had been named. Cathleen's love of life made her schooling of medicine an easy choice. She wanted to help people and someday travel to lands to help those who could not afford the care they deserved.
At the age of 22, Cathleen was given that chance. She was asked to travel to Siberia to aid in delivering medical supplies to those who were suffering due to the fighting there. Just hours of arriving there the small town was hit by a group of radicals thinking her medical group was a threat to them and their way of life. The exposition came so quickly there was no time to think. Hundreds lay bleeding and torn. Catheen too was laying in the snow, now covered in blood. The last thing she remembered thinking was how sad it was that she would never see her homeland or her family again and she prayed for their safety....then all went black, as she breathed her last.
OK Grom, my first IC post is up, it's in two posts cause the first part I had to cut short, busy with moving to Washington state, I'm US Navy so I'm in the middle of a command transfer and I'm doing this with a wife and 2 month old little girl so yeah not easy. I'll post as much as I can, but I thought I would let you know I have posted, (first one woot!) I myself wasn't completely sure how the dying thing was supposed to go so I made it seem like he died, but kinda left it open a bit, but I think it should work. Take a peek and let me know. Right-O then catch ya'll on the flip side Comrades
2 Cath: That's perfect! Expand the story a bit when posting in OOC. Something like memories of the raid or like that.
2 Nemekai: Nice one. Go on. Your character wakes up on the park bench in Berlin, with no ID, no money, no weapons and no idea where he is and how he got there. Continue on that.
