Meet the 15000 real Vampyres living in the USA.
A journalist discovers the underworld of the clans of Vampyres in New York City. He spends two years with the real vampyres like an anthropologist and brings back unique evidence on film.

I liked it. A great insight into the living vampire, culture, spirituality, and the usual cast of vampire subculture "celebrities" including Don Henrie, Michele Ballenger, Father Sebastion, and several likeable characters. It covered New York, New Orleans, Italy (Venice), and Japan.

It's alright...Watched it this morning actually... A little ripe with sexuality in some regards, at least for my taste, but not bad. Kind of depresses me though, that theres nothing I know of in my area where vampyres can get together even casually.

I'll have to watch!
I think Father Sebastiaan is an interesting character. He's created quite a stir in the vampire community. A lot of people dislike him; personally, I wonder if they might be a bit jealous of his financial success and popularity. He has befriended the "Paris Vampire" (Nico who has a website where he displays his artwork of serial killers). The Paris Vampire did murder someone and did his time in jail. Supposedly, this is one of the reasons Sebastiaan is not liked, because he befriended a murderer. Sounds a bit like self-righteous BS to me. I had Nico as a friend on my myspace and didn't know his history. How he found me, who knows.
Father Sebastiaan became intimately familiar with Temple of the Vampire and later created the Strigoi vii. The Strigoi use soul transference to effect vampirism (they may not call it soul transference, but they invoke an entity; if Tiamet, etc., turns you into a vampire, sounds like soul transference to me). They call upon a Babylonian deity to change one from human to vampire. The physical body remains human but the soul becomes an immortal vampire soul. The Strigoi vii are against ingesting blood, but skim crowds for the prana (life force energy) they need. These are the key elements in most vampire orders based in mystery schools; some do ingest blood or at least use blood during their initiation and "changing" rituals.
The Strigoi vii are not religious by any means. They prefer "humans" to be religionists as humans will then be more docile and controllable. They consider themselves to be at the top of the food chain and consider humans pets.
How do you like that!? Hey, I have a lot of respect for Father Sebastiaan - he's up front.

Very interesting. I've read lots of books on the subject but have never seen a film on the culture.

I'm really not all that eager to believe very much in this film. Any information that they share is probably let out without consult from the rest of the clan/comunity or it's false and they're just telling the reporters what they want to hear.
It is very interesting, but until I'm in the middle of a clan and all this proves true, I'll stick to it as something to whet one's apetite but not necessarily gain reliable information from and learn what I want to know from vampires I already know.

One of the reasons he is disliked is that he is considered a "Media Whore" along with a couple of the others out there (including Don Henrie).

Damn it! I was planning to shoot a similar documentary on vampire cults in San Francisco. I suppose I still can, with my own spin. I know of some individual vamps in the San Francisco area, but still haven't found any significant underground cults, except for some emo high school kids who like to bite each other...
Any suggestions? Anyone know of any vamp groups in San Francisco, or know how I could find them? Though it will be a documentary, I want to shoot it like a film, in a very dark and artistic style. Anyone who wants to be involved is welcome to contact me.

Darkness doesn't really deal with this subject like it used to, but there are many out there that do.
I would Google the word vampire and see what you get.
You will probably have to take some time letting them get to know you a bit and trust you becasue many have had bad experiences.
Sending you a PM with a few places to start.

Do you think you could re-send the PM? I got it, but there didn't appear to be a list of places for me to look, and I deleted it. Perhaps I didn't look closely enough. Thanks!

Back when I thought it would be fun to trick myself into thinking I was a fictional monster I went to Sanguinarius.com but I doubt the forum still exists.
Psi vampirism is hilarious....The fictitious drinking the invisible for the benefit of no one.

For NightSky: for the documentary you want to shoot, i can only help you by shooting some videos with Transylvanian castels, surroundings, asking different peolple about the traditions there and their believes. (i live in Romannia).
