Rhuen
A forum to discuss shows that look for cryptid creatures and other unknown or otherkin type beasties.

The worst I have to say is "Destination Truth" even the forum is a waste of breath

http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showforum=135

which I had visited recently but may just need to drop, talking to a bunch of pre-teens about this type of stuff and how horrible the show is made is a waste of time honestly.

The best would have to be a documentary like the "Real Lost World" where they actually put a team together of specialists and went to this hard to reach part of the world with mostly open minds.

One show I rather like is Mystery Hunters. It's a Canadian show so I'm not sure if it airs in the US. It's targeted to a younger audience but still rather enjoyable.

My favourite show still to date is a little radio show broadcast out of L.A. called "Coast to Coast A.M" With George Norey and the late great replays of Art Bell. They have covered every topic I've ever heard or seen, all on talk radio. Here in Canada its 770 Am but elsewhere it may be different. The Show runs from 1:00 to 6:00 am daily. Again I don't what time it would be on anywhere else but here thats what it is. Through out the week they have different specialists talking about their feild of paranormal studies, and have random people call in to discuss and share experiances. Im sure youve heard of this show before Rhuen, but for the people whoh haven't. Start listening to it.

Monster Quest is now way up my list on good ones.

Destination Truth is coming out with a second season, I hope its not a piece of garbage like the last season, but that may be too much to hope for.

This is about a guy I knew of who sent something to Art Bell.
I frequent a paranormal board at gamefaqs.com, actually paranormal conspiracy, but yeah....we had one guy claiming to have see a man made of wood in Southern Florida, in Tallahassee. He says that it came out at night and that these cult member s kept coming to his house to talk to him about it and he would get scared and never open the door. I have heard of the group of people he was talking about...larantia or something....can't remember. I lived in Talla hassee for a month and around the corner from a friends house, they had a church for this cult.

The second season of Destination Truth is disapointing indeed.

too many episodes in Africa, and too quik to assume the locals who live with these animals are mistakeing animals they see everyday for monsters.

and even worse when Looking for the Mongolian Death Worm, hell they couldn't find a prarie dog with their methods for getting animals out of a hole, any first year zoology student could tell you burrowing tunnle making animals always make more than one exit, just in case something like a dog tries to dig out one (just like they did on the show).

Ghost hunters followed one week with a really great episode (with some interesting encounters with something in a basement moveing all sorts of things and EVPs that coincide with what is going on)
with a crappy episode this week where they had to deal with a fake location that had all sorts of junk set-up to try and fool them
honestly if someone pulls that for a group that is doing a show its a shameless attempt at advertising their place on the show for buisiness, Sci-fi channel should charge them for ad-time.
