the body of an unknown animal was found by soldiers and handed over to Russian scientists, the soldiers took those pictures before it was taken by the Russian government for examination.
Still could not find any articles in "mainstream" news though.

Plesiosaur (man am I sick of seeing this word) Everyone thinks everything is a plesiosaur, ever since that nessie photo. Use of this name makes everyone think they're some crypto expert. Its annoying, especially since the Lochness monster was normally described as whale or monstrous eel like prior to the surgeon's photo.
Plus The more analysis this case, as much as I don't want to admit it, the more my machine like logic insists its a beluga whale carcass that is badly decayed.

Just noting: Mosasaur have sharp teeth, not dull as the photographs suggest, and I believe it is too small (although I suppose it could be an infant).

Look closely at the images, the teeth are sharp, they are also broken and most are missing. Fitting with either Mosasaur or a Beluga whale.
Also Mosasaur came in many sizes, and is believed to be the ancesor of all modern snakes.
