since me being vampiric, and my fiancee is not, when she bears my children, wouldn't that automatically make them vampiric too? my mother was vampiric. but my father was not. so what then of my children? unsure.gif

Nor more than it would make you automatically Vampiric.

Let's think about basic genetics for a moment...

If your Mother was Vampiric and your father not... then you are 1/2 vampiric.

If you are 1/2 and your fiance has none in her? What's the ratio now?

Most people would say the children would be 1/4 vampiric and 3/4 human, now in the math world, that would be correct however in genetics I believe it's different slightly. It also depends onthe dominate genes that arise in your children as to the traits each would have more or less of.

DNA is a tricky thing in terms of it's not always equal and will have a great deal to do with which genes are active in each offspring and how much of the gene is active or dormant.

Weeeeeeelll.... my understanding was that the child of the union betwixt a human and the undead was a dhampir (see: Blade), a normal-seeming individual with special abilities making him or her particularly able to hunt and destroy vampires. But I do not recall ever reading any legends or information at all as to what happens to the child of a dhampir. Do you suppose that half-vampires breed true? Is a dhampir's offspring a dhampir, or a half-dhampir?
It would seem the logical (not necessarily true, mind you, just logical) that if your father was dhampir, then he might seem like a vampire to you or anyone else, enough so that you believe that you are half-vampire, rather than being (for example) 1/32 vampire, but still a full dhampir.
Or am I not making any sense at all?

that's just the thing about my father. i do not know him. my mother says that he was vampiric. but she always lied to me. but when i cut her, and felt her blood on my hands, i knew automatically she was vampire. therefore.. doing more research.. i find out later that my father was of a vampiric order.

In your first post you said that you're mother was of Vampiric nature but that your father was not.

So which is it?
eternal_cursed
which father?

my real father was of vampiric order.

my step father is not. many apologies, sometimes i go too fast when i type and leave out parts of the words.

Well you did only mention one father in your first post.

I assumed (I think rightfully so) that due to the nature of you're question you'd be talking about you BIRTH parents and not step father... who would have absolutly no baring on the outcome of your offspring.

So if I'm I'm getting the full story now... than you are saying now that BOTH your parents are Vampiric yes?

If that is the case my first post to you still applys in everyway. Accept you're children woulds be 1/2 or less than. Again depending on the dormant and active genes of each imho.

In any case this is just a basic guess as you could never be sure 100% until after the fact.

i think my head just blew up, but how right you are, Sanctuary. My mother is vampiric, and my father was Lycanthropic. :icon6:
