2. Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?
Yes, I think they exist. There are plenty of things that have happened in this world that can not be explained. Why rule out a possibility that can't be disproven?
I enjoy trading stories of this kind with people. Crazy things that you can't quite explain that you can feasibly—or even jokingly—attribute to this type of supernatural.
When I genually get into discussions such as these with friends, I get scared. There are a lot of things about ghosts and evil spirits that scare me. I am scared—I think obviously—because I don't rule these things out as a possibility.
This kind of fear is similar to a phobia. Deliberately putting yourself into a situation that can be frightening feels not so bad, because having intentionally placed yourself, there seems to be some amount of control over the situation. You can get scared, but have a comfort zone: You did this. It is not happening on its own.
It is for this reason that I sometimes face my phobia. When balloons (for those who didn't see that thread, I am phobic of balloons—no joke, though it is a silly fear) pop unexpectedly near me, I cannot stop myself from dropping to the floor. It's a bizarre feeling to react so strongly, though not conscioiusly. Facing my phobia, controlling the balloon near me, gives me slight power over what's going to happen. I can test myself and my fear, because I am in some control over it.
Mind you, facing a fear of balloons and spending a night in a house you believe to be haunted are very different things. I can admit that I might wind up running from the house screaming if something happens while I'm there. Staying there, I'll probably get myself all worked up and not be able to sit still for fear of something behind or above me. Hell, sitting in my own room and thinking about such things makes me feel a little edgy. Yet another benefit of sleeping on a futon that is directly on the floor. I don't have to worry about anything being under me. ;)

I definatly believe there are spirits, good and bad. I've had personal experiences and believe me I tried to make sense of it, then I went to thinking I was just crazy, but I don't think that's the case anymore. For the most part I'm quite sane.

Hey, but you didn't answer the second question.
Would you spend the night in a house you believe to be haunted?

I believe in evil spirits and ghosts.I've had to many personal
experiences for it to be explained in any other way.As for staying in a haunted house,
I have been living in a haunted house for the past 14 years,I suppose you get used to
it after a while, although I was really scared when I was younger,I now
peacefully co-exist with whatever is living here with me,there hasn't been any violent
attacks for the last couple of years although I have noticed that it is becoming
more active these last few months and sightings have increased, but I think that is
enough info for now.

2. Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?
I have spent quite a few nights in a house that I know to be filled with some kind of presence....
I felt a bit of evil in particular rooms and felt edgy and afraid when I was in them, but comfortable in two other rooms of the house.
I usually didn't even go to the bathroom by myself. (It was by the basement door) *Shiver*
My best pal lived in that house for many years and She and her Family simply got used to it....
So yes I have spent a night(or twenty) in a 'Haunted House', but damn hasn't anyone seen House on Haunted Hill....Eeeeeep
As to the point of Ghosts or evil spirits....I am quite torn about the issue.
I believe in God, so I wonder if he would allow such suffering as to be trapped on earth, yet not really existing...after a promise of such magnitude has been offered to those who have faith in Him..
If I believe in Heaven and Hell, then I must think that one who has gone on to Heaven could not see or feel any form of Hell....
And this world is Hell.
Hence my thoughts on them simply bieng evil spirits.
But then again, I do think there may be a limbo state, that some may experience after death...
Maybe unfinished business holds ones essence to the earth, allowing for the time to finish or aquire the knowledge needed.
I don't know, I guess I'm kindof iffy on that part of the question.
But I think I lean more on the evil spirit side.
At least that has been my experience with such to date.
I have to add that none of us really know, it is all just a matter of beliefs and opinions.
This is just mine~

Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?
well I do believe in more life forms...
We are 'touchable', we can be touched, but I believe also in some kind of life or energy forms wich can't be touched or be viewed...
I see it like, dogs can hear very high sounds wich we can't hear..
I believe that there could be energyforms wich we aren't awear but it could be that they would be aware of us...
Since it would be a number one chance to get connected to ghost or energy forms so yess I would want to go into that house...
I would want to see it with my own eyes... Since there could be an other form of life in the house I would like to do some research first about what happened into the house and find a way to expalin what is going on in the house...
would I be scared?? mmm could be since I have no idea what to expect..
But you can control yourself... sometimes it is hard to tell yourself to calm down.. But it is possible..
that's my second reason I want to go inside.. To test myself.. to learn to control my fears or whatever will overcome to me...

Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits?
I do believe in ghosts or spirits and whatnot-- however, I do not believe in the classification of "good" and "evil" spirits. Evil is subjective-- or as Lestat put it, a point of view. So, I believe there are simply spirits, but I will not attempt to classify them in such ways.
Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?
Why yes, perhaps I would. It would be interesting, at least, even though I have already spent the night in a haunted house, quite a few times. Just not yet in a house that's uber-haunted, yet.. But I think I would.
But the world is a grave, and so there are bound to be spirits everywhere. I see the earth as a living, breathing entity.. Inhabited by both the living, apparitions of the dead as well as everything in between. So, it isn't a question of whether I would be willing to spend the night in a "haunted" house-- it's a question of whether I would be willing, if I was able to fully recognize and sense these entities. Because, I think that most of the time, we are near a spirit of some kind or another-- but we just aren't open enough to feel it.

yes i believe in ghosts and spirits evil and otherwise my first memory in life is of a ghost i was laying in my crib (yes i said crib) and i saw hands reaching for me i looked over my shoulder and my mom and dad were still asleep in bed i started bawling and the hands disappeared
as far as staying in a haunted house yes i've went "ghost hunting" several times and have found some interesting things i can "feel" spirits so i can generally tell if a place is haunted i've never actually stayed the night anywhere but thats mainly cuz (for some reason) i never really thought about doing it
i learned long ago not to fear these things fear can feed them so being scared just gives them more power over you

I do believe in ghosts and spirits.
I've never spent a night in a haunted house and probably never would be able to. I have the tendency to be incredibly jumpy in confined spaces - namely rooms.

Yes I believe in spiritst like Aradia said (love the name by the way) I will not attempt to classify them into good or evil. And for the spending a night in a haunted house, well I've lived in one for the past couple of years so I dont see why one more night in it more would hurt. I would tell of some of my experiences but I already did in the Shades thread so if you want to read it go there and it's on the third page I think. I just dont want to retype everything on here again.
