Ok! I am sick of answering the same questions every time a newbie decides to find out something about Vampires!

So Please read this, so that you don`t have to ask those questions again!

1) Vampires do not live forever and they never will, they can prolounge their life but not drasticly!
2) They need blood (except psi) and they get it from donors!
3) They can walk on sunlight but it may cause trouble (rash...)! So they prefer night!
4) They can`t fly! (Jez, who ever made that one up)
5) They are not evil!
6) You cannot become a vampire because one bit you!
7) They are stronger, fatser and more agile but not invincible!
8) This is boring...
9) They can see themselves in the mirror!
10) rest is coming next time, cuz im really tired!

now now branimer.... you know many will argue such a thing and i'm not one...... but some can be evil just like a human can be evil just like ur feces can be evil just like the ants that byte you if u step in there ant mound are evil

Nice idea to make a Vampire FAQ... But I would be a bit more descriptive if newbies are to refrain from asking the same thing all over again.

As for vamps being stronger and faster then your average man... I seriously doubt that has anything to do with their body... and more to do with their diet...

erm..... from personal experiences and info i have found here can i just make a few comments?

vampires live as long as humans, any extension is purely coincidental

2) They need blood (except psi) and they get it from donors!

they don't need blood to live, just to get rid of the thirst

3) They can walk on sunlight but it may cause trouble (rash...)! So they prefer night!

that is not the same for all vampires, i myself like the sun

4) They can`t fly! (Jez, who ever made that one up)

i don't know where that one came from

5) They are not evil!

some are, but not all......

6) You cannot become a vampire because one bit you!

not always, i agree they are not invincible but vampirism does not lead to excess strength, speed, agility etc... that is believed because the vampires who talk online like to say they are stronger, faster etc...

yes as I said in a previous post, we need FAQ in the form of a sticky or post it on a few forums.

Given that this FAQ would likely contain information newbies are seeking pertaining to real vampires, I'd imagine you'd see something of that nature in the Real Vampires topic.

Given that the realistic nature of vampires is still being debated, you won't find that FAQ in the topic I moderate, Real Vampires.

That's the nature of this site. There is no FAQ because we do not know yet. The closest thing you will find to the FAQ you propose is Sire's expectation thread.

They don't have a need for blood. They CAN drink it instead of mental draining but they don't NEED it, not anymore.

P.s.: Creature_Feature, You may not know, but others might.

Unless you make a FAQ on all the "possable" types , then it will be useless...

And even if you did make a FAQ , do you really think they take any notice , just look at the post that i did about people wanting to be turned, i said in the post that if you are under 18 not to bother , yet in the post there were many 14 - 16 year old humans that though they would be the exception...

take it as fact, it dosnt matter what we say or write , they wont take any fucking notice.....

what about dreams? what about reoccuring dreams about vampires? i've had them for years and years. anyone have any info? trying to find out more....they seem real. i have even woken up with scratches - thogh of course i could have scratched myself in my dreams as they are quite frightening...?????? any ideas...

as far as i know..yeah...vampirs can do that.i my self had these kinda dreams...doesent matter what happend in them.but i asked a vampire if they can do that and he said they can.so....what u dreamd might happen.:))) or maybe not.

Prince, you took the replies right out of my mouth. *smirks* I don't know where they came up with the fact they can fly. I find that somewhat amusing really. From what I hear from everyone else who has told me this (correct me if I'm wrong), its a process in order to be one.

Here would be the question here (I'm not human nor am I vampyre; trying to solve that mystery actually): How can anyone tell if they are vampire?

I have found that being a vampire would be a heck of a lot better than being the human that i am. vampires do age, yes, but a lot slower than humans. Their senses are 20 times better than ours, not to forget srength.

I like to know how all these non vamps go around telling us what vampirism is.

The senses, and eyesight, save it for someplace else. This place wasn't created for pre-teens to brag about their superhuman abilities, but to discuss the actual possibilities of vampirism.

To cut it short, you're human. Apart from a slightly difference in taste, and in some cases habits, or for the psivamps, an enhanced ability to feed off of energy, there is nothing separating you from Joe next door.

From what I have read here the only differnce between a vampire and anybody else is the blood drinking so all the makes you is a sanguinairian with a condescending attitude. Not impressed !

OKAY what is a vampire and what does it entail? Can someone explain this. Some people seem to be able to explain what a Vampire isnt but no what a Vampires is.........

Perhaps that is why everyone is here in this Forum! All seeking answers, opinions, 'others', and whatever other goals one might have here.

I feel that no one person in here can tell you exactly what a Vampire IS. That being true, they certainly cannot tell you what one is not. They do however, seem to be able to "enlighten" you with their wisdom, be it fact or fiction (often times the latter).
One thing you will absolutely find, is a strong majority feel that their belief is the 'correct' one (much like religion), and many of them will even try to convince you of it (again, much like religion). Which might leave you with even more questions than when you started. :huh:

*I really did not intend on comparing to religion... it just rings true. <_< (but that's an entirely different topic, so I wont go there)

All I can offer to you here is: read many different Topics, listen to what others have to say, ask your questions... etc.... take it all in.... and decide for yourself, from whom you would like to get your answers. But most importantly... Keep an open mind! It really helps when you are trying to understand others' points of view. ;)

*Taylorfate, If you're going to ask what a Vampire may or may not be, perhaps try asking it differently - like in a Real Vampires Topic, I think there is already one or two that might contain some information close to what you are seeking... Check it out, you might find some interesting reading!! :)

What began as an attempt to answer frequently asked questions has led to arguements where every point is argued even knowledge itself. Lovely stuff. Branimir's attempt was admirable, if only it was factual....

Well after reading this thread it makes me wonder how many newbies will actually listen... No offense.... Anyway what is a vampire? Hard to determine but what makes a vampire diffrent from a human... Which is the major diffrence... Is the need for blood or energy that if we do not get any we can be insane or sick. So that is the major diffrence and there is of course other side effects to the problem. And no it is not a blood fetish.

Anyway people just need to read over things... Not just this forum but varies other books/ sites that deal in vampirism and see the comon ideas of what it is. But hell people don't take the term to study anything anymore.

Don't be so sure in that...People are beautiful creatures, you must love them because of their fragilty, and believe me they are not so ignorant as they coud seem at first sight....

hmmm.... vampirism is just an opinion really. before you disagree, let me explain... there are a lot ( and i mean A LOT) of books on the subject and they range from people like (for example) Anne Rice who uses them to gain some cash, and books by people who claim that they (vampires) exisat and that they (dudes writting the books) have the facts on them(vampires). it is that way with a lot of things actually. for example, religion (where they say things like "my God(s) are better then your God(s)). but, back to vampirism... you cant say that the statements you said before are true and fact, because everyone has a different opinion on things... oh, and i think Anne Rice came up with the idea that vampires fly and thats why a lot of newbies think they can... b/c of her books and movies and all...

i'm what every ones been calling a newbee but i completly and totaly agree with you. i may be only fifteen but i'v done a little studying ont the topic and i agrre with you completly. so my question is why must everyone arguee about something that is still baing resurched?

^_^ i am definately not a newbie..i just havent been on lately so u wont find that much info...but 1rst of all....vampires (seein that i am 1) do live forever, they dont usually get blood from donors unless their in single earth n then theyd tri animal 1rst, they dnt get rashes in sunlite making em like nite...the stronger the more annoying sumlite gets, tehi dnt exactly fli but thei can orbe themselves from one place to another wich gives us an advantage if in a fite ;) , 5 6 n 7 r correct...the onli wai to kill us is to penatrate a metal dagger branded with ancient blood n power of a fledging from the eternal mother matche, tehy can see themselves in the mirros but once thei reach a certain age it turns smoki n then u cnt see ur reflection at all,n u must b a reall wannabe if u ddnt kno all that :lol: ...nxt timeu try to claim to be a vampire...get the correct info....god u wannabe.

I know I have seen many movies in my lifetime (38yrs) and Anne Rice is a Newbie - as far as this statement goes! :P

Someone else thought of that idea long before Anne Rice ever picked up a pen! ;)

Let's clear it with the insults too. Everyone has a different definition of what a vampire is, and unless you can prove *your* version is the proper version, then how can you attempt to chastise someone else's viewpoint?
