A number of people have mentioned to me that they believe vampires to be from another planet.

A fascinating theory. and hell why not it makes about as much sense as the rest of the mythology. I just wanna know exactly which planet they may have come from, how they got here and whether or not making them aliens places them into the invading other monsters that gothic literature portrayed them as in the 1700's?

They are from planet Ork, and their leader is named Orson (though I like to refer to him as "cosmic breath").

Actually there was a Traci Lords (non-porn) movie where vampires came from space. I can't remember the title though...

If vampires are undead, then if they came from space, wouldn't there like, be live beings over there too? I think they just about roughly explained the anatomy of a vampire in Bram Stoker's Dracula (Van Helsing is so keen) so I dunno..

The only reference I can think of is an episode of Buck Rogers (Bid-ee-Beep) An alien that looked suspiciously like Count Orlok.

Or maybe body-posessing parasites that drink blood.(Puppet Masters meets The Necroscope Trilogy)
Or metamorphic creatures that crashlanded here centuries ago and changed themselves to match us. (Lifeforce)
Superior immortal beings that crashlanded here millions of years ago and guided our evolution to match them. (The Last Vampire)
Or, ancient humans that discovered space travel and took the secrets of immortality with them. (maybe from Atlantis??)

Space Vampires are possible, but nobody has hit upon the wilder theories of what they could be. Shame. As for ones on Earth...only in the fictional world.
