Strange enough for me, my donor found me.

Well, after my awakening, he asked me. Apparently, he studied vampire behavior and saw that I was a HLV. (Of which I greatly appreciate.)

Lucky for me, he asked me. (and might I say, his blood tastes so sweet...)

well um how do the donors find vampires?
Ravager

Donors usually go out to the real world screaming "suck me dry, vampire, I shall be your donor".
But if you are looking yourself a donor I's seriously advice you against it.
It is dangerous and unhealthy.

Any 'donor' who actually sees just that in their duty.
Should have their mother spank the 'vampire'
who's drinking from them.

I realize that this FAQs is on an entirly different subject, however if you want to know why it's dangerous to go looking for a donor or looking to be a donor, it's the same answer as here:
http://forum.darkness.com/index.php?showto...dpost&p=1071646There are also varying health risks involves in it as well.
Does anyone know where that post went on blood born illnesses? I'll try to find it and post it for you if someone else does't find it before I do.

I was just curious. Which is a bad thing in my case because it makes me bold. If I ever met a vamp I might let him or her you know. Maybe.

Curiousity is a wonderful trait. Never loss that. :)
But one must also have a degree of caution as well... as some people may take advantage of that type of curiousity... so best to error (in this case) on the cautious side a bit. :)

Honestly, I'm with Goddess. I, too, wonder what it feels like to be a donor. And as for the risks, I might have once cared about it before I lost Erik. But after loosing my b/f I hardly care about anything any more. :nopity:

you can't drink someones blood without his or her permission..
Or else it would be illegal and against the code of honor of most vampire clans..
You can't just ask someone will you be my donor, caus 9 of the 10 times they freak out..
you can search on the internet to vampires or donors on the internet living nearby..
there are alot of sites to find people who are willing to donor blood...
or you can ask a friend...
It isn't easy to get some, but if you want you can manage it I guess..
IF you do find a donor, watch out for aids and stuff..
be carefull, a simply cut in the fingertop will do and let that drip in a glass..
some people drink there own blood, I don't believe in that.. But for the taste hence why not :)
yess you could ask a butcher and say you have blood drinking animals at home oresomthing.. But I would rather drink blood from a beautiful lady instead of a dead pig..

My current donors I met on the net, the relationships progressing to real life and are much more to me than the word "donor" implies. I have a couple others who I have not met yet in real life so I do not call them "donors" yet but I hope to do so eventually. I call these 5 my "Chosen". Plus one platonic real life freind when I am in great need.
In the past, I have never met one through the fetish clubs for I am just not this sort. They have always been friends who seek to assist me or partners who want to this experience. Actually, I have never had a partner who does not eventually offer. Offhand I cannot think of one who has not offered rather than me asking for I tend to stutter and stammer IRL, blushing madly, when I think of asking. I am open with what I am to those I care about and they seek either the experience or to ease my discomfort.
I am indeed disease cautious and take the needed precautions.
These relationships tend to last quite a long time with me.
Blood from an aniimal?? Blueeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrgh! Not for me.

This is done by many. Beef blood, slaughterhouse blood if it can be found, is a common one. Personally, I cannot imagine consuming old blood, much less animal blood, and I need the psi feed which only comes from a human. And, can the animal give assent? I need the blood to be freely and consciously offered to me. Period.
If you have a weak stomach to not read this. One not as uncommon as you might think practice is to, shudder, consume the blood produced by the menses. turns an ominous shade of green and makes gagging noises. Not only is this dead, but it has, well, tissues.
I did not address autovampirism... the drinking of one's own blood. If the current hypothesis is correct that states the vampire is missing something provided by blood, would not our own blood have this lack and thusly the consumption of it be moot? If my supposition is correct stating that we need the energy feed associated with it, we would be temporarily feeding from ourselves, getting the rush, all while depleting ourselves.

Well, i suggest if you find someone who is willing to be your donor you should get them checked no matter what they say and be there with them... have them checked for HIV or any disease

One of my best friends is my donor, she's somewhat a masochist so when I told her that I was a sanguinarian she willingly offered to become my donor. My friend self-harms also so I usually just drink straight from her arm, though if she cuts deeply when I'm not there she stores the blood for me. We have a good arrangement, she gives me her blood whenever I want and I use my power of empathy to help her. Of course - if you are looking for a donor you must have them checked out. HIV is no laughing matter!

Drink their own blood? I've done that a few times, I have this bad habbit of chewing on my bottom lip when nervous so yeah... it's not that bad actually... And I'm not even a vampire... O.o; Perhaps I am weird... or have seen far too many movies, read too many books, and watched too many t.v. shows and animes about vampires...
Anyway... I highly doubt a butcher would believe that you wanted the blood for a blood drinking animal. The only animal I know of that drinks blood are vampire bats. :alucard:

Actually there are several reasons to get blood from a butcher. For example: Many old fashioned recipes from Europe require them, so it wouldn't be a surprise to them to be asked for it.

Greetings
I'm a vampire -by which I have a craving for blood, sunlight burns me easily and leaves me slow and sluggish- and I have always been careful about my donors...
I met all of my donors in a nightclub where it was rumoured that others like me frequented... The knew me straight away for what I was and merely offered their blood to me. I have also met other vampires since then, and their theory is that while some of us are born with the bloodlust, others are also born who can reognise us and offer themselves... I don't know if this is just vamp myth or not, but donors *are* easy to come by if you know where to look...

Hell, some of you might actually learn how to make a blood pudding just for authenticity.
INGREDIENTS:
1 quart pig's blood
12 ounces bread crumbs
1/2 lb. suet
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 quart milk
1 cup cooked barley
1 cup dry rolled oats
1 ounce ground mint
PREPARATION:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl; pour into a large kettle or Dutch oven and bring to a boil. Pour into a wide shallow bowl and season again if necessary. Chill thoroughly, until firm. When cold it may be cut into slices and fried.
Now, Darke Valentine, I have to ask where you're from. I've never seen a city that had a goth or vampire-fetishist community broad enough or intense enough that someone could walk in and be propositioned like that. Most of the people that are into that stuff do it as an extension of a more socially acceptable act. More most, it is an extension or their romantic relationships, and bleeding for a one-night stand is something I've never seen or heard about directly. So, wherever you're at is apparently a haven for vampires, a uniquely suitable environment.
Care to share your secret?

I'm actually from Southampton in England. There is a nightclub not too far from me called the Dungeon. A lot of alternative types go in there, and a few of them are indeed self-styled vampires. Rumour has it the owner is a vamp too, but I've never had the pleasure of meeting him...
And, I believe I made a small error... It wasn't on my first time that I was propositioned... It was after a few visits, during which I kept silent on my vampiric tendencies. (I believe shrinks refer to it as Renfields Disease) to myself. I'm sory I led you to believe I walked in and was propositioned just like that...
It was after about four or five visits, a girl guessed what I was and quite tentatively enquired about it... It is still seen as a slightly taboo subject over here and my sort are frequently called satan worshippers, evil madmen, psychos and so on... I have even been subject to lynchings because of who I am...
So, although I have found a 'haven' of sorts, the other vamps in England are pretty cautious about whom they speak to... I'm probably sounding so confusing because I've not slept for a few days now, and the sleep deprivation is doing funny things with my logic.... If you wish to ask me more questions, then I am more than happy to answer them for you...
And on another note.... Please don't call me by the full user name, whenever people do that, it always sounds faintly mocking whether they wish it or no. Darke or Val will do just fine...
