If a person were turned into a Vampire, in the classical sense of the word, what do you think would happen to their body?
Example:
If they were 60 years old when they were changed... would they stay 60?
or
Would the body regress to a period in their life where it considered them to be at their prime?
How would their body react chemically and physically to the changes?
What kind of physical and chemical changes do you think would happen?

My theories on this:
The body would retain it's age and health status. If the person were in their 60s hopefully they were of good physical health when they were turned. I really don't think many would wish to imagine a decrepid old vampire.
As for how the body would react chemically and physically that would depend on the health of the one changed once again. If they were of reasonable health the changes might not be as drastic as if they were not. For instance if the person had a mental illness the change could drive them further into the illness and possibly create either a homicidal or suicidal vampire. If the were suffering from a weak heart it could cause the heart to become further damaged.
As for what kinds of changes, let's say the vampire's blood is thicker due to lack of some mineral. The changed victim would then have to deal with wounds that do not bleed as quickly as well as a more acidic blood. Then we have changes in appearance. Possibly the hair would continue to grow but then as time wears on. The skin may possibly become blue or even gray in tint due to lack of oxygen. The musculature would possibly slacken or stiffen as it does with rigor mortus.

If a classic vampyre in the real sense (well as I imagine a vampyre to be others won't agree I'm sure) turned you then as they can't grow old physically and heal at a remarkable speed.
Then it could be possible that the cells damage through ageing could also be repaired taking that person back to when they were at their peek fitness.
As long as they stayed nourished through regular feeds then they could maintain their body at that level.
Just a bit of fun I know but it's good to wonder about the possibilities. :icon7:

When a person is turned, their body dies, ceacing all mortal functions. If they are turned at 60, I believe they will stay that age. The vampiric blood is the thing that is sustaining their bodies, being absorbed by every cell, which is why they must drink blood, to replenish that supply of blood in their body, which is taken into the cells and burned away with bodily movement and functions.

Hi Morwen,
I'm originally from Virginia myself. Does your friend live in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area per chance? I ask this for a good reason.
If someone is giving your friend a "choice" of whether to be turned, I would think they'd be forthcoming enough to tell her/him what to expect. If the vampire is being sketchy about what to expect, I'd run like hell. Sounds like a possible predator to me.
Are you trying to find information for yourself?
You should read the post by Rikkar about predators in the vampire community.

Thanx for the advice and to answer your question yes, I am also looking for information for myself, but you can email me and we'll talk further about it. For now I'd rather not go into it. My friend is not from the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area. I am however from the Lynchburg area, if you even know where the fuck that is. Not that many people know about L-burg. Please email me though. It's chikitty85@aol.com. Try to im me or email me by tonight, it's very important that you do so.

I believe that when this happens, vampire blood cells attack the human blood cells and corrupt them, but if that person is sixty, they stay sixty to human eyes but age one year for every decade.

Short answer?
It depends.
Long answer:
It depends on lots of different things. To even start, I would need to know exactly what you mean when you say "turned into a Vampire, in the classical sense of the word".

what could be:what could be:what could be:sorry about that (if what I think happened, did..).Anyway, what could be is this; since wickeds are generally assumed to heal quickly, this would mean a quick regeneration. So if the cells could heal from wounds at such a rate, who is to say why they would not be able to regenerate to such a point where the cells, such as skin cells, would show the appearance of the 6o year old regressed to his or her physical peak in life?

There are subtle changes in the body in order to accept prana and use it.
There are extreme changes in the soul, the vampiric soul is disconnected from the Divine principal (God to some of us) and is on a darker, solitary path to it's Ascension Primordial, bypassing God altogether. Chakra damage is also predominant in vampires and the need for prana refills are needed. The fully developed vampire soul (Ba) vibrates at a higher frequency than mundanes and this powerful vibration and energy manipulation is used to cultivate strengths and develop their High Magick strengths.

I know that this is trvial . The Sun is a major cause of damage to the skin. Avoiding the Sun's rays aded to a rejuvenationg effect of Vamp blood andfresh blood may cause a reversal of the damage done by years in the Sun. Lack of blood and avoiding the Sun may also explain the paleness of the skin.

read some anne rice dude
This actually reminds me of a character in the vampire chronicals, David from the Talamasca.
Lets take a look at the Anne Rice model of a vampire, as now days that is the most popular version.
David was an old man, dying in fact, Lesatat was tempted to turn him as he was in love with the old man for many years.
If that sounds gay, it's probably because it was meant to be.
Anyway Lestat didn't turn him because he was stuck in an old man's body, now if I remember correctly he waited until David swopped bodies with a young man who was much better looking and then he forcefully turned him, against davids will, but that's Lestat, he's a *astard. Love that character.
Anyways moral of the story, if you got turned at 60 you will remain a gray haired, old man, but probably will he the most energetic old man around. According to Rice, their skin become flawless over time, so I would assume the old man's wrinkles will disappear eventually and given enough time he would look like all the rest, except maybe with white hair.
But... now that I am thinking of it.. she made rules about changing the young and the old
like claudia, she never grew up, I am not sure about the old rule though, but I think the old went mad and self destructed.
Magnus, Lestat's maker was a old man, and he suicide in a fire soon after creating Lestat... Damn that was a creepy character, I'll never forget that scene where he takes Lestat into a room filled with dead and decaying bodies of young men that looks just like him but prooved to be unworthy of the dark gift.
It's nice speculating isn't it.

How would you even know if you were a vampire i mean would you be in 2 states of conscience your vampire mind and then your daytime mind.
Or would it be really like in the films were you die if you go out in the daytime.
For all you all know you could be a vampire.
