I'm very photo-sensitive I have to wear special dark glasses, and a hat in sunlight
and keep covered up because I burn easily. My curtains are permanently closed due to this, I get awful headaches.
You just got to take precautions, and get through as best you can.
I am not a vampyre, this is due to a physical problem, but I can sympathise.
Although I don't really believe those here who are claiming to be vampyres, I would never take someones right away to identify themselves in any manner they so choose.
I do whoever think it is possible to be an energy vampyre, as I find some people are very draining without even realizing it.
So If someone made a point to drain I think it is very possible. :icon7:

try to absorb the run rays as vital "do/go" energy--ya may need to do it consciously, but it should help you not be so drained

Unless you have some heretofore unknown disease, it is physically impossible for you to be drained of energy by being exposed to sunlight. Exposure to sunlight raises metabolism, provides caloric intake, and gives you doses of vitamin D, in addition to other things.
You're not being drained, simple as that. If you're trying to be an HLV, you're simply trying too hard and coming up with the age old standby, Vampires cannot go into the sunlight. You're playing off of the old myth in hopes to be more vampiric, which is impossible. If you're a HLV, you're a HLV and there's no qualifications that you need in order to be more of an HLV. You are or you are not. It's enough for us for you to just say that you are, without coming up with new illnesses that have not been discovered yet.
That is, unless you really do have an illness that in 10,000 years of recorded history has never been diagnosed yet. If that's the case, well, I am sorry for you. I have a feeling, though, that it's not and you just want very much to be qualified to call yourself a vampire. Just say it is so, that's all you need to do to be a vampire.

On the contrary, the sun can be very draining. You'll find a few posts from us who have moved from north to southern states like here in Florida that have experienced this as well. The first year, I felt extremely fatigued throughout the summer months. The sun (heat, humidity) was most definitely responsible for this. Stay cool, wear appropriate clothes, stay hydrated. Look for tips on avoiding heat exhaustion.

I find the heat more than the sun to be the cause of draining. (But it is Sun related heat and brightness.)
Like older-and-wiser I am very sensitive to light. I'm told it's because I have blue eyes.. apparently blue eyed, fair skinned / pale people are more sensitive to sunlight than most.
I cannot drive in the summer or winter without sunglasses on. It's too bright for me, not only will I not be able to see due to squinting but it actually hurts. I will get headaches and suffer from sunstokes (usually caused by heat) if I'm not careful.
What many people don't know about Vit D is that it's a steroid. Yes you heard me... it's classified as a steriod. It also requires Vit C, A and fatty acids in order to be processes effectively by the body.
I make sure I always have sunscreen with me, wear light clothing both in color and in weight. I keep hydrated (water water water) and always have my shades with me to protect my eyes. These things might help you deal with the sensitivity you're having with the sun. You're certainly not alone in it.

It has been proved that the most delicate skins in nature are black and tan, it is a myth that pale skinned people are more sensible to sunlight, there are cases but not always.

I'm really surprised by this. Dark skins have pigment.. pale is a lack of pigment in the skin. The pigment in darker skins was said to protect from sunrays and damage because it's usually thicker not thin like pale skin is. I would have though that it would act as more protection for darker skins?
If I'm out in the sun for 5 mintues or less or a really sunny day. I'll start to burn. There isn't one pale person like me that I've met that doesn't have that same experience.
When I got my belly pierced I was actually told by the piercer that the paler the person, the higher the rejection rate for the peircing.
I know the blue eyes in not a myth though it has to do with reflection if I'm not mistaken.
Perhaps the darker skins are delicate in another way?

I burn really easily, and I never tan it takes me all summer just to get honey white lol.
I have blue eyes and they are extremly sensitive as I have said before.
I have to keep completely covered, or I blister, it's not like we have any summer anyway in England. I am a winter person through and through :icon6:

Luckily for me, when I left New York for South Carolina, it was around the end of August. The sun, as Sire said, can be very draining to people who are not used to it. It is not the light, but the heat. As how Southerners who spend a winter in Alaska or a place of that sort will feel as if it was much colder than what a native would feel.
The sun is good as long as you are used to that level of heat.
Otherwise, it is a good idea to slowly introduce your body to the sun and heat.

I had this problem before and the only solution that worked for me was to go outside and adapt myself to the sun. Of course I had to because I had to go the summer x-country team practices. Omg it was so hard! I had to run for several miles in the heat and the team captain was on the junior olympic team. He insisted on running up every single steep hill in the city. My body learned how to appreciate not having to run in the sun and so I felt like I had more energy.
Anyway maybe if you did some kind of physical activity in the sun it would help you adapt to it.

i can't tell you i know exactly how you feel but i have many of the same feelings if i'm in the sun i don't feel nothing just hott if i'm on it for like 10 min. i'll feel sick when i get home tho my head will hurt and i will go to sleep even if it's like 3:oopm i'kll get so tired and weak that i must take my rest! iam very sensitive to the sun i'm tanned skin tho i'm not even white, i must ask you this question tho were you alergic to the sun as a child or anything wierd like that maybe it's alergies when i was younger i would get nose bleeds from the sun i hated it if i was out for half an hour my nose would bleed, but i took some medications so my nose hasn't bled since i was like 14 or so now i'm 16 it will only bleed if i'm in the sun for llike 2 hrs or more i wont even feel it comming till someon tells me ,but that explains why now i just feel weak and without energy sux ass!!

Stupid question.
The sun is dangerous to vampires.
That tired feeling you get is not because the sun is takeing away your energy.
It is because the sun is slowly killing you.
The only reason most people don't know that is because thay are still mostly human.
Vampires that have died and dug themself out of there coffins are true bloods.
Those who have yet to die are called blue bloods.
Blue bloods have to vampire infliction. But the virus has not taken full effect due to the fact that they are still alive.
You see back in the day when someone would become a vampire they would die.
But now we have people who use pure will power to keep living.
Thus the blue blood vampire was born.

Stupid question.
I have to disagree that the sun is harmful to vamps.
It's my beliefe that only few vamps have hard times being in the sun.
as for the whole direct bloodlines and blue bloods i really don't know where you got that from.
Simply put most vamps can withstand the light basically because they have 2 forms a vamp and human counterpart. so unless absolutely necassary, vamps stay in their human forms.

Some people are just naturally more nocturnal, and gain energy at night. I find myself tired during the day and wired at night, it's technically a sleep disorder called "Night Owl Syndrome". I've been dealing with it my whole life, and I find that taking naps throughout the day helps quite a bit. Lots of exercise can also help. Aside from that, living more nocturnally has always worked for me. Better energy and concentration. Hope this has helped :-) sleep well.

I have to agree with Sire...for years I thought something was wrong with me, I saw doctors time after time, they had no answers......I am very sensitive to light, and heat. I get sick with headaches and nausia.....I feel so very drained...If you have to go in to the sun, and when it is hot, protect your skin with clothing, and drink lots of cold water. I do most everythng after sun down though....I can where I live...things open 24 hours, and such. Thats when the fun begins anyway....For us creaters of the night!

In fact, once i went a week without orange juice and i got so sick and swollen that i couldnt breathe...Creepy.
