Sluagh (pronounced sloo-ah).

Also known as "The Host", they are the most formidable of the Highland fairy people. Believed to be sinister spirits who attempt to lure others to a similar fate.

The Sluagh from Changeling: The Dreaming (in which I take my sn from) are dark and mysterious fae, often feared and misunderstood (to their liking) who have a knack for secrets and causing subtle nightmares. They are thin and pale, and have the ability to slink across as well as see and commune with ghosts in the Shadowlands. They are never able to speak above a whisper.

An accurate rendering of a Sluagh girl from Changeling: The Dreaming.

Most of the time faries are portrayed as shinny small humans with bug wings or something similar. I am not sure that that is right i mean angles, vampires, and any other otherkin can take many different forms so a farie could just as easily be a hell span little devil too dont you think?

The little winged fairy most noted in stories like Peter Pan are only one type of fae. The fae are wide and varied, some downright horrifying and nasty such as the Redcap or Nuckalavee (sp?). The Sidhe were noble fae more akin to Tolkein's elves, while there were the norse dwarves and trolls. It's too bad 'faerie' is always associated with the little winged beings so common in movies/television when it was never perceived that way a little over 100 years ago.

the Sidhe are only one group in which we regard the term Fae and Fairy, these also include Brownies, small elves, some vampires like Alp and Dearg-Due and when used for simular small magical beings in other cultures.
Fallen_Firefly
Is there a difference between Fae and Fey please?

Other than name.

Fae is short for the old spelling Faerie which in modern english is spell Fairy.

I felt bad for Stealing some of the pictures so I'm posting a link to one of my fave Fae artist. Her name is Nene Thomas and she does beautiful work.

That fairy from Ferngully is hot. But she's a Piskie and I'm a different kind of fae (Sluagh) so I don't know if we'd be compatible. :10:

As it stands i believe in Fairies.....I swear i saw two when i was little.....I don't believe in the tooth fairy that's materialistic and impossible....but nature fairies that live in the wild and in unfound places and other dimensions i believe in partly because i saw two and because it makes sence they won't be in crowded places but they are in deserted places....I kno what i mean.....
