Do not be concerned, when this question is ansewered, I will not request to be transformed. It is simply a matter of curiosity. In all of the books I have read, most real vampires are loathe to make more, or it is not allowed due to a code of ethics. Seeing as how I have never met a real vampire, I do not know the facts. Are there young and reckless vampires who make new ones on a whim, and are they punished? Is the way a vampire is made the way it is portrayed in Anne's books, or like the old folk tales where you only have to get bitten and live. These are just a few questions I have. I would also like to know what it feels like when one changes from a mortal to an immortal.

I know that only an elder can make a child, the new born most learn to feed, kill, and most learn to kill thir ..emotions...An elder can make a child by killing a human...and than feeding the human with his blood...i recomand you a child every 100 years.it is hard to educate them...

Thank you for your response. You have been helpful. Why only every hundred years? Does the education take that long, or is it that trying?

Personally I think it sounds more like population control perhaps?

I think hun, that may be true Sanctuary and Lestat_Human_slayer.No,education doesn't take 100 years,it might to some but to most who are mentally ready it does not.Hope this helps.

If vampires are immortal, then I'd say even rarer then 100 years.
To keep the race alive, discretion would be alfa omega, and if vampires are predators (and thus killers) you can't have too many wandering around before someone starts to get suspicious.

It probably won't be long before someone catches this and kills it, so I'll just make this quick. I have a link on my profile to my site...if you really wanna know the truth.

ok first off...not just elders can do it. everyone has the right to do it. it's all personal choice on whether a vampire chooses to turn u or not. there is no rules against it. it is just not something they do. and, yes, i would know...thank you.

does that mean that a smart vampire would only choose to turn those that are mentally ready?
and how do you know if someone is ready or not

I would personally only choose those ready to be vampyres.Otherwise you'll have a child vampyre learning adult vampyre material. Not a good idea. The reason elders are chosen to teach younger vampyres is because they have had more expiernce in this field. It's kinda like applying for a job so to say.

I read through the comments on this thread and I don't see anyone saying it'll be shut down and if they have said this then maybe you need to use the REPORT button and tell them.Anyways,to answer Gothic Dragon, vampyres like to make sure that their to be "children of the night" are safe and protecting 'themselves' after they have graduated from their learnings.Hope this helps.

A lot of us are born vampires. And many of us aren't immortal. I don't know how to make another vampire, but I do know you have to be an elder.
