[1.06] This group is full of posers. Stop pretending!

The people who post as vampyres do so for a very good reason: they enjoy it. They have a perfectly good grip on reality. It may seem like a strange way to act but, if you don't like it, you don't have to do it. Nobody will think any the worse of you if you don't act as a vampyre - provided you're polite to those who _do_.

So true so true...
I myself am not a vampyre, but I respect those who are.
I think it's very fascinating, and it's why I learn about them.
It's interesting to find out all the little things that no one else seems to know or understand about vampyres, and actually astound some people who pose as a vampyre.
It's awful to pretend you are if you don't even know the real facts.

i've never understood why non-vampires want so much to be vampires... *shrugs* another one of life's mysteries i suppose

It's no more mysterious than the idea that some humans want to live in the Realm of Faerie (the fae are rather nasty buggers...), or that some humans want to be tax collectors, postmen, and accountants.

Hello, I am new to this website so I suppose this shall be my introduction of myself. I have been lurking this site for a good month, I tend to do that...I like to keep a sense of anonymity , but I found that the company on this forum is quite ameable and kind. Anyways...in responce to this. I believe it is something of the unknown that draws them to us, I also have a theory on a Vampire's aura, but that is personal, but I think that they are dazzled by the idea of what "Hollywood" puts out Vampires to be, but in truth we are not. They want to be it because it mesmerizes them in a way, it sets them apart from others so to speak; not to mention that Vampires are portrayed as virile sex machines with hundreds of years of experience and more suave to them than the shampoo. Who wouldn't want that reputation? I have found in what I have seen and in my own personal experiences, but this just may be because I am a Tantric Sanguarian, anyways I have found out that most vampires have a sexual aura about them or some thing of an attractiveness to them, whether it be in looks or personality, even aura. That is just a theory, not backed up by any facts, just by personal experience.

If one is having sex, and biting and drawing blood is an ultimate turnon, would this make a person a vampire? Just curious...

I've not been here in ages... My life went through some strange changes and I just kind of forgot about this place.

I've got to say (despite how old these posts are) that I agree with the "aura" thing said above. I usually make a point of calling it a "dark magnetism". I don't believe it to be sexual, though it is highly believed that Vampyres are sexual beings, so much as I believe it to be charismatic in nature. People tend to be attracted to people like myself, for better or for worse. There are few people I meet who keep a neutral view of me, they either love me or hate me...

Anyway I do consider myself to be a Vampyre... at the same time I am obviously human... I do not believe (to any great extent) in immortal beings known as vampyres... I believe in humans who have evolved to a new level of humanity. I've heard stories from friends of mine that detail the lack of any need of 'food' as long as the proper nutrience are gained through sanguine methods.

I also realize I am going off on a tangent and shall cut this short.

As said I'm not a new member, but I have been gone for such a time as to go ahead and call myself a new member. If I am captivated by the discussions on this board I may make it a permanent "haunt" .

I beieve that people have 'forms'. That our entities are those of the collection of the previous lives/experiences etc that our particular soul, or portion of spirit has. There can be many forms to people such as vampires, dragons, fae, etc etc.

Um, no. But it does make you a kinky mofo and rather a target for the sexually deprived here. :)

Hmm... when I first came here, I was initially totally put off by people who said they were vampires, then I was fascinated, and now I could care less. Maybe it's a growing up thing. I find it interesting that people can't accept who they are and run with it. I'm not one to talk though, as today I took a quiz that told me I was outgoing and a loner at the same time, so I've kind of got identity problems myself. Who knows? At least I don't dye my hair a different color every day and attempt to fit into a perfect societal group.

the aura thing is pretty much dead on we do seem to atract people near and far they (the people) percieve it as a sexual thing when it is not i beilive this is because even though humans have a large range of emotions the cant catagorize what they feel when they see us so their body thinks its love or lust. ive always had that problem even when i acted like an asshole there were girls that were still drawn to me that shouldnt have been.

I couldnt tell you why, but I do find "vampire chic" very attractive/erotic. Where I to meet a vamp in the Houston area, Id certainly want to know them. Were I to meet an actual "supernatural" being like lestat....I would crave the embrace.
Ah, but I suppose Im a romantic at heart! lol.

No, but it does make you a bloodletter. Rock on!

As for the vampire "posers", feel free to disagree with me on this, but "vampire" is a concept developed by humans in the first place. If you want to get technical, the vampires calling others posers are posers themselves, for we're all posing from classic fiction, based on ancient inspirations such as Vlad the Impaler, who wasn't a vampire at all, but inspired Dracula, which pretty much started the fad. We're all "posing" from older vampires in reality and fiction, and in the world of fiction, a vampire is an undead, immortal being who kills for blood to gain energy. However, in this world we've created in reality, a vampire is any person who lives a vampiric lifestyle. Some of us are naturally vampiric, while others decide to live that way, and I suppose those who make the conscious choice are the onces you are labeling as "posers".

I'm not saying that it isn't annoying when emo high schoolers in all black are running around, acting superior, claiming to be vampires. It drives me batty, as a matter of fact! I'm just saying to keep in mind that in the greater scheme of things, we're all posers of something much older and much more real and hardcore than any of us.
