well thank you for replying
the fact is i know what they are i just wanted to know if anybody else knew about them.
inccubus is a type of creature that visits people mainly women and give them pleasure and dreams then they start to torment the victim like either killing them or making them insane
thats all i know
the inccubus's counterpart is the succubus this creature attacks men.
the inccubus/succubus are a type of servant to the vampire but they also terrorize by themselves.
thanks for reading

Thread as above ^^
Technically they're not vampires, but demons or malevolent spirits.

The thread that ravager gave you guys a link to has a standard definition for what an inccubus/succubus is.
More info about inccubus and succubus^ the above link gives you a little more history.
The link between inccubus/succubus and vampires is straight forward. Vampires have been romanticized as sexual creatures who feed upon the energy of the one that they "thrall". Hence the connection.
Sex . . .energy feeding and manipulation.

I got a book not long ago abotu Vampires, spirits, demons, ect. and here is what it said about Incubus
A type of male demon that visits women during the night to torment them and to have sexual intercourse. Its name is derived from a combination of incubare (to lie upon or weigh down) and incucus (nightmare) It possessed attributes similar to the nightmare and the vampire: nightly visitations, the draining of life and strength, extreme sexual desire, and the habbit of crushing its victims. Further like the vampires found among the Gypsy or Slavic communities.
There was a bit more but I didn't feel the need to tipe it. ^__^; hope that helps.

This thread already addresses this subject and I am not in the habit of repeating myself. "plus other goodies about 'cubus demons and other soul suckers"
http://forum.darkness.com/index.php?showtopic=31131basic note their not vampires.
in fact many clergy regarded them as Fallen Angels.
As they hold no reverence for holy symbols
and in fact were infamous for targeting nuns and monks
"its more fun to go after the sexually repressed, more sport to it"
