From what I know, vampires are simply beings that thrive off power stolen from other beings. But doesn't everyone do that? Bullies are a prime example. They "get a rise" out of causing harm to others and the excitement they steal from those they hurt is very obvious. At least subtly, if you play close attention, you'll notice that everyone does (mostly to people one disrespect's) this at least subconsciously. Beings with advanced mental vampiric ability have developed this to the point where it's subtle enough that it's unnoticeable audibly and visually. There are also those who have the talent of sucking power from peoples' blood. Quite a talent. Seems a very easy way to get energy into their life. While normal people get energy from living a fulfilling life, vampires steal energy from others. Now let's say someone was into this vampiric shit for a long long time with no regrets about it. It's a helluva lot easier to get energy this way than via living richly, so might that person not completely let go of his fulfillment because it's not worth it for him? People claim to be awakened by their vampiric souls. Who's to say this "vampiric soul" that speaks to you is not just some deceiving single spirit that tells lies and guides its followers with gifts of power? To me it actually seems more plausible than 2000 vampiric human spirits. I mean, weren't the awakened human until they decided otherwise? Who's to say a true "soulless" vampire exists? To me, vampirism is an ability and "true vampires" are people who have simply given up on normal life, or given in completely to their desire for power.
What do you guys think?
