I have only met one guy who claimed to be a vampire before. He was somewhat a part of my group of friends but I never talked to him much. I moved away before I got to ask him why he drank blood. Nothing about him suggested that he wasn't anything but human and I can usually sense things about people that ordinary people cannot.
Anyway he bit one of my closest friends on the arm during her math class and now she claims to be a vampire as well. I know he is a human. If he never drank blood in his life again it wouldn't kill him. I want to know why people such as him would want to drink another human's blood. I'm not saying that there is no such thing as vampires but for humans to drink eachother's blood....
It's strange.

Perhaps he want to be a vampire (or feels like a vampire), and believes that drinking blood would make him one.

Most people here would say that it is not possible for a vampire trait, or a vampiric anything, to be passed on by a bite, or by any means. I would be concerned with the young woman bitten though...she might get a disease from an untreated bite.
As far as why he would fancy himself a vampire, I will leave the answer to that to those of us versed in human psychology.

i thought about this a lot...... vampires(real ones) need blood to survive cause of the way there body is.... humans dont need blood and therefore its a bit stupid to do it!
humans need water to survive, but if we didnt need it we wouldnt drink it cause its rank! anyway blood tastes foul!
so if you wanna do it, do it but dont do it cause you wanna be something your not!!!!!
*snuggles* xoxoxox
sorry if i pissed anyone off.... its just 1 persons opinion!

I agree with most replies here, maybe they're just trying to be vampires and that's why they drink blood, if they really do they'll stop soon, for their digestive system will crash sooner or later.
As for the "vampires need to drink blood to survive", I'm not anymore a beleiver of that one, I think vampires were supposed to drink blood because back in the past, drinking blood seemed as a dirty, vain and unholy act, despised by many it brought up many legends of demons vampires and such creatures.

I Don't Think I'm a Vampire. But I do enjoy Drinking Blood, for me it's a passionate and very sensual experience. It gets to the point that I crave it, like some people crave sex. I don't need it to live or feel whole, I just enjoy the experience and closeness it brings to My Partner and I.
If anyone Plans on drinking blood for any reason, make sure you are safe, get tested for for all STDs and Blood Transmitted Diseases. It can be very enjoyable as long as it's safe and condoned.

Yeah...see this guy obviously is a wanna be,not to condescend anyone on here.If he claims to be a vampire and goes around biting your closest friends, then they go around saying they are vamp. I think they need to look up the word vampire or get more info about vampires before boasting about something they are not.Tell them to go to www.vampyreverse.com
Great site to go to.

Aye, Going with the other posts, he just probably wants a bit more attention than anyone is giving him.
Personally, I agree with Malbolsia, for me the taste of blood and feel of my own blood pooring out of my body is quite a turn on and an experience I enjoy quite a lot. But I'm in no means a vampire.

There is "sugar" in blood, it varies to the percentage throughout the day and depending on your diet.

Damn it, does no-one have a sense of style anymore??? Math Class! Jesus.
Why do it. Hmm because it's taboo, it gets you attention, it makes you feel like you belong to a 'special' group of individuals...and in a lot of cases it's sexy.
But as Archangel says...very risky. Human bites really churn up tissue and leave horrible scars, and become infected really easily. Let's not even get into the blood diseases either...
