Both experts and vampires alike tell me: Is there any country or culture where vampires are mostly found or originated. I know its is strange but I was wondering. I hear Eastern Europe, especially Romania, is commonly thought so but is it true?
lelo
you years ago i would say yes...but now they can go wherever....It would be to simple to hide among mortals...
Eye Candy
I agree but a few hundred years ago vampires lived yes,in the Eastern Europe, some started to immigrate down to the U.S. and this is how vampires became popular and common among mortals darling.

Vampires or vampire like creatures exist in just about every culture. From lilith to cain to dracula. I haven't seem a heritage that didn't include a story that was similar to a vampric story or that has things of a vampric nature.
Eye Candy
I agree with that info too.Like I said in the other threads,it's all based on a persons' belief on a fact.

Fact? What do you know that I don't? Don't get me wrong but I've been looking for something tangible about classicals for a long time.

Before they were vampires, they were demons or even evil spirits/ghosts. They existed before the invention of writing. If you look into the skies, some of these evil spirits or demons exist there as seen by ancient cultures. They are worldwide, but most certainly the Romanian culture has defined it as we may accept it modernly in describing the 'classical vampire.'

It is cultural, Scandinavia, for instance, has no vampiric lore at all. We have werebeasts, but nothing blood-drinking. But I wonder, if we were to map the areas that have distinct vampiric myths in their native culture, if there'll be a pattern?
