drinking lots of these substances does not make you a vampire SKERPIOEN, the thirst for blood is usually what distinguishes (spelling?) a vampire these are just to tide you over until you can get blood, not many are willing to give it up you know

Drinking allot of mineral water and water or any type of drink ussually does it for a few days... Or meat too.... But then you have to have blood to keep your strength or keep you from getting delusional.

inorder to attempt to control my hunger, and give my body what it needs due to the virus's demands on my physiology, i have managed to come up with a plasma like sustitute using various aspects of asian herbalism and alchemy, but it's effected are indeed limited and the virus does gain a tolerance for it and thus greater doses of this substitute is needed, in the long run it doesn't work but short term use can be effective, and does as far as coming up with a solution to the hunger provide a possible direction of knowledge.

Your age as a Vampire has alot to do with it to. The younger you the more you need to feed. As time goes on you learn that you don't need it as much. Least that's how it's been for me.
Plus, if you can't find real blood there's always going to slaughter house and getting pig or cows blood. Not as good but does the trick. Animals are the best way to feed if nessicary. But other liquids work. I've resently found a weight lifting supplement that helps too. I haven't figured out quite how, but so for it's done the trick.

there are lots of substitutes for human blood, animal blood is usually the best *smiles* curbs the thirst for longer, but that is all it does, it does not take away the thirst, human blood is still needed
Rashel_86
Feb 11 2003, 12:14 PM
True....animal blood is a good substitute...but it's kinda hard to get them when u r living in cities...i don't think people sell pig's blood...but i suppose tomato juice can quench the thirst for a while.

i used to have a deal with the butcher down town *smiles* i did some work for him and he gave me some cow blood *shrugs* that deal fell apart a while ago though so i was forced to find another substitute, milk works for me now

I read on sanguinarius.com that a mixture of red gatorade, orange juice, and beef bouillon tasted like the real thing and while it does create an interesting reaction in the container you mix it in, I wouldn't suggest drinking it for it is perhaps the worst possible thing I've ever had in my mouth... I suggest mixing the red gatorade and orange juice in equal parts and leaving out the bouillon... it tastes pretty good and is rather satisfying...

I would venture a guess as to something you could use as a substitute. Anyone ever think of plasma? It's blood but not blood, so to speak. Getting it legally would be nera impossible, though.

Well, Skerp,
I was walking along the road one day, it was very late. I found myself bitten by the hunger, so decided to find a kind donor in the area. While I was walking, I grew hungrier and hungrier. Almost ready to pass out, a UFO abducted me.
On the UFO, the aliens looked tasty. They started shoving things in my butt, which did not help my mood, let me tell you. As they finished their butt ramming, they released me. At that point, I sank my fangs into them as hard as I could! But, they had silicon dioxide for blood, and it just wasnt right. That, and it glued my jaws shut.
So, no. No substitutes yet.
(The entire preceeding message was meant to be a good ha-ha. I thought it was time to break from my more serious posts and just have a good time.)

~much laughing~ Well... Creature that was an amusing addition to the thread. Felt like is was in an episode of the X-Files .... well... except for the butt ramming ~roflmao~ I feel the need to say "the truth is out there"
As for the topic ... actually there are alternatives ... depending on the nature and skill of the vampire.
Many Sangs do not limit themselves to blood. Many have duel natures ... and use different energy sources when blood is not a practical choice.

I'm going to venture that the lack of substitutes is why the Psi label was developed. It's so much easier to just say, "No man, I'm feeding right now!" than to find blood.

You may have a point there Creature Feature ...
~finds agreeing with you a little on the ... uh ....odd side...laughing~
Although I believe my reason for agreeing .... is taken a little out of context .... from what you ment ~grins~
I am guessing that you ment it more as an opportunity for a person to claim what is less likely to be seen with the naked eye ... and therefore harder to prove. There by ... adding some sense of disbelief to the claim of being vampire. And as always ... you are welcome to that opinion. If that is what you were saying.
My point being ... Sangs who also have Psi abilities ... find life much easier to live. Due for the most part .... that it is indeed a silent and unseen form of curbing a need. But it makes it nonetheless effective ... or real.
Prince
Feb 14 2003, 04:17 PM

all sangs have psi abilities, and all psi can get the energy through blood, they should not have been seperated as different types, it is just how you choose to learn the vampiric ways, if you learn the psi side of things you will not even think to try the sang method and vice versa.....

As for Princes's statement about Psi and Sang sharing abilities. I for the most part agree with you. The concept is the same ... in either case. The division among the vampire community seems to have really increased the past couple decades ... I think more to define specific natures ... then anything else. The problem is that there are only 140,000 vamps in the world..
1 % are Classicals. The possability of a Sangui or PSI vamp coming across a Vampyre , or a So called "immortal vamp" are very slim , and trust me , even for a Inherator it isnt easy to meet your own kin.
