none Egypt African creatures
starting with
Abatwa: Legendary South African little people, supposedly the tiniest living things in human form. A Zulu spirit species, they are clan-like creatures said to be so small they hide under blades of grass and sometimes sleep in anthills. Sometimes they are said to be seen riding the ants themselves.
According to folklore, the Abatwa live in the mountains and hills, but are nomadic hunters, having no central village. They follow the game, devour their kill in its entirety, and then move on.
Although the Abatwa is thought to like aiding humans by giving good advice, they are said to be very shy, sighted only by the very young children, magic wielders, and pregnant women. If a woman in her seventh month of pregnancy happens to see a male Abatwa, it is a definite omen that she will give birth to a boy. If a person sees and talks to an Abatwa, they better be very careful to pretend that they are of the same size, because even though they are a peaceful race, if offended they might shoot the human with tiny poison arrows.

Agogwe:from Tanzania, East Africa. The Agogwe is described as a small (4, 4½ ft tall) rust colored woolly-haired biped with yellowish-red skin. In Zimbabwe, the creature is known as Kakundakári, and in the Ivory Coast a similar creature is called Sehité.
Encounters with these creatures are supposedly very rare, with most of the reported sightings coming from 70 or more years ago

Mamlambo
Allegedly, a creature "half horse, half fish" that inhabits the Mzintlava River in the Mount Ayliff area of South Africa.
The beast has been said to be at least 20 meters (67 ft) long, with short stumpy legs, crocodilian body, the head and neck of a snake, and to have a hypnotic gaze. Furthermore, it supposedly glows in the dark, emitting an eerie green light. This exotic creature is blamed for the death of at least seven people, and several animals, including livestock. According to the locals, it kills by dragging its victims underwater, drowning them and subsequently sucking their blood and brains out. For this reason the creature has been also called "Brain Sucker."

yes I have heard that myth. most think it refered to Rats that carried diseases and the natives not being used to these little grey rats with their naked tails at the time came up with the myth, hence it is a relatively young myth.
