One of my past times is keeping track of the animal life I see in my dreams. Wether a creation of my imagination or animals of the astral world. it doesn't matter. This thread is for you folks who see animals in your dreams that don't exist in the real world. Tell us their name(s) and some details that you gathored about them. The one rule of this thread "don't just make up a monster to post, it should genuinly be something you saw in a dream" maybe someone else has dreamed of the same animal.

For example.

Tube: a small mollusk like beast found on the outside of the Dream realm where every one dreams, these Tubeworm like things look more like pipes or a bunch of Hockey pucks stacked on each other. It lives in the astral sea just outside the glowing dream orbs where people normally dream safe from everything else. They feed on the bits of thoughts that come out of the dreams.

Nightmare Worm: First saw when I stopped having nightmares For an instance the dream "skipped a beat" and the horror before me went "ghostly" and I saw these things there. I reached out and grabbed one and the whole nightmare area turned into them. They were purple teardrop shaped things with rippled bodies and rings of different shades of purple on their bodies "segmented body with different shades" that rippled as it flew about. I grabbed one and demanded they never return or I would devour them "only a few instances with them since "and I stayed true to my word"

Leap Shark: A weird dream this was. They looked like ordinary Reef Sharks except they had metal vibrating teeth and could jump twenty feet out of the water and when landing on a raft assume a human form with metal claw like fingers.

Soot Shark: deep in the Abyss of the Astral ocean in a dark place below the dream orbs was a place filled with thick dark water like it was filled with soot. In this water was a shark built like a skinny version of a tiger shark only black with darker blacker stripes and six glowing red eyes. "three on each side of its head" it was striped like a tiger shark and had a tail like one, but had a reed shark shaped body.

Plesio-sala: a small Plesiosaur about the size of a pet salamander but all bendy like the one from King Kong and with water Turtle like feet "webbed and clawed". For some reason I dreamed of being in my room and instead of toads in my tank I had some of these little things. "I moved them over to the safe house "a special place in my dreams" They like crickets just like the toads.

Blood Wasp: a bug about the size of a small dog, with a flea like body and a mosquito like head crossed with an ant-eater. I call it a Blood Wasp because it also has a stinger. "just as easily could have called it a blood bee but Blood Wasp has a better ring to it.

You have some pretty intense and imaginative dreams, Rhuen.

I remember the wierd translucent jellyfish type crature that I have seen others talk about. The one that hovers above the ground sort of glowing near knee level and tries to attack.

Other than that, usually just normal animals are in my dreams with a few exceptions. The only thing is that the animals act very different.

Oh and "black insects that like to killl" but I haven't quite figured those out to be able to say much.

I have kept an access program of them all. Almost every night something new pops up so I am limiting myself on posting them. and I have been told I have always had an over active imagination.

Toon Tooth: Happened in the first grade after a demonstration of Tooth protection. it was an upside down molar with a face and skinny toon gloved arms and legs with little white boots on. It was an evil thing killing mud people with a tooth brush laughing like chucky the whole time.

Bonespit: a giant yet relatively short cobra made of bones "but not realistically" its body was made of can shaped white bones "like one of those old toy snakes" which this appeared for the first time in a dream when I was little after getting one of those toys. It had a pincher on its tail. It had a cobra like hood "which looked like white segmented spider legs "complete with hooks on the ends" connected with a white membrane. the head was a skeletal snake head with deep shadowy eyes. I gave it the name Bone Spit because it spit out a barrage of "doggy bones" to attack.

Psycho: First saw after watching "Critters" basically iy was small black and toothy like the Critters but it had a tadpole body shape with a quil covered tail and the same feet and hands of the critters "but with glowing red eyes" I gave it the name Psycho because it would shoot its quills by spinning around like it was chasing its tail.

Tubelar: a freaky dream: it looked like a big fat black Pipe covered in cone like silver spikes with electricity shooting between the spikes. The top and bottom ends were holes plugged with a rolling white ball "like rub on deoderant or the ball in a Rodent's drink bottle. Nothing too weird until it floated down into a dream orb after sacreing away the "Tubes" mentioned earlier. This caught my attention so I followed it and it just got weirder. While I hid in the air invisible it landed in a trailer part and the balls rolled over. The bottom one opend up to reveal two black boots for feet and the top ball got goofty cartoon eyes with the pupils rolled back like it was drunk or high and had a goofy smiley cartoonish mouth "considering every thing else looked real this face really stuck out. It than danced about while little poor trailer children danced around it. I could have sworn it was going to topple over as it danced and kill one of those kids. But it never lost its balance. and it kept saying "Tubelar" over and over again. and thats when I left back to the dark Astral Abyss "Seen more but I don't tend to follow them into the dream orbs any more"
I can't think of an explination for this unlike the Psycho

I note If I can think of a reason why it would be dreamed up I'll give the reason.
maybe something others could do if and when they post their own dream animals, reasons you think you might have dreamed up such a thing.

I have seen in some dreams something I called an OctoJelly: a small clear jelly fish that could float in the air or hang out in the water. It moved its tenticles like an octopuss does however like it was feeling the enivironment.

and the black bugs reminded me of what I call Swarmers. They are these very small black bugs "with big mandibles" that would look like a black cloud of dots and strip the flesh off of carrion in seconds. "never saw them attack anything however, and they never attack me"

I just remember the silly thing attacking me and trying to kick it when younger. :)




How often do you see these and where?

When I was young I used to gream of being attacked by T-Rex, most recently my stuffed cat "Little Suzy" spoke to me.

The Swarmers tend to pop up in swamps, and deserts. The swamp ones are very little and the desert ones get as big as Sparrows. "as a side not I also map out places in my dreams and even keep track of plant life." Its a hobby.

Only a few times have I seen smaller groups of them in the outskirts of large cities around bodies of water and even less after it rains in the plains.

Grey tree: a Tree with grey bark and grey leaves, many subspecies such as Charcoal Grey trees and silver trees.

Whispering Tree: a Pine Tree that makes a sound likes its whispering something just beyond the point you can understand it.

Giant spiders. Now that's fairly common. Anything specific about them like what kind of spiders they were or how big they were?

For instance

The Great Bite Back Spider: in my dreams in lives in the bottom of a Canyon in the black lands. It looks like a giant black common Garden spider "only its the size of a mall. and it has a giant mouth on the back of its Abdomen. It could also talk.

Bladera: A giant three segments spider with a metal ridge like a razer on either size of the thorax and its legged ended in metal hooks, except the first two which were curved hooks.

Talking Gorillas: brown Gorillas that could talk
"these two were in the same dream" the talking Gorillas were using the Monkey to fight some robots on the Plains of Oblivian.


Zelly "working name": Evil Bastards from last night. They looked like tall Amoebas "about five feet tall" They had semi-clear bodies with white and blue in them and four psudo-pods "tenticles" coming off the upper part of the body, they had a ring of smaller fast moving pseudo-pods for feet.
the people from Star Gate Atlantis walked up to one which commenced to eat Major Shepard with one big gulp "it opened up its body like a mouth and sucked him down, instantly dissolving and thus killing him.
These Atlantis "Jumpers" showed up and started shooting these things which fled in all directions.

i had a dream and it had a bunch of crap in it demon's zombies like it was hell man and it was crazy i woke up in a cold sweat it was the most insane dream everything was red and hot and on fire and satan was this tall demon figure that was a black shadow but could take human form it was weird just leave it at that :furious:

Anubisaur: You would think it would look like a Jackal, but nope. it looked like a black Dachsund with an otter like tail. It was alos wearing a hooded Pharoahs "crown" with its little pointed ears sticking out hols in it.

Wiphla: okay a wet dream creature so be warned before reading: Okay they were naked pale red haired women "hair only on head but long an wavy "some straight hair". However they also had a long silver scaled whip tailed lizard tail, They were also like the lizard in that they were asexual lesbians "except they were actually hermaphrodites in that their egg cells also doubled as sperm cells "the cells had tails" So when they "grinded together" those from the dominant partner swam into the "subserviant partner". They explained all this to me, what get for asking how they reproduce. An odd conversation to have at the Queen Wiphla's party.
However they had a forbidden fruit angle to them for the humans at the party "their skin while looking smooth was like shark skin and could cut you if you rubbed it the wrong way. And their hair while looking silky could cut like razer wire.
Their palms were super strong and could burn at the touch as they collected solar energy in their palms to be used as a weapon "or a hot massage for their own kind"

Animals in my dreams...that don't exist in real life.

A wolf that is colored black and brown. Sort of the coloration of a yorkshire terrier. It had a few odd features like eyes that kept changing colors, teeth that looked like they were made of steel, and it could not howl.

Another thing I've seen is well, alien life, something I've dubbed the Vae'Orr. Repilian/insect-like creatures with horns-like that pretrude out of the back of their heads. Three claws on three fingers, and they wear masks...Another thing I saw in a dream was a bipetal creature with something that looked like coral on it. It made a horrific shrieking sound and it had like thick armor...cause in the dream i was shooting at it..I've looked through all the stuff I like and such and can't find any reference to anything like what I saw in that dream which I can recall quite cleary.

Stalker: a guard and basic companion animal in the Water Roots Country "a place with no sky as the roots and smaller offshoot roots of the World tree filled the entire country. Now imagine this a furless black head of a wolf on a giant beetle body with four long spider like legs. "and it also had spinerets on the back"

Shadow Whip Fox/Shadow Whip Wolf: it was called both names, but to me it looked more like a fox. It was a living shadow of an animal with a long thin body with long thin legs with dainty paws and an overly long fox like tail, a longer than average neck with a smallish head and thin pointed ears and a thing fox like muzzle. When it ran it would take a few steps than turn into a wisp of a shadow like a snake sort of only with its own head,Until it sped up alot than became a pure shadow and could even when not moving quikly change its shape to a cloud like mass.

i almost always dream of vampires and werewolves. i mean almost always.
my dreams usually consist of me being a vampire. the seen is like from the movie interview with a vampire. whats that era? like 1800's? anyway, im always looking for my family.. for they have just been turned and the werewolves are after them.
werewolves are always after me. im always running through a pitch black forest and i can hear them coming. and i know i could fight off one but not twenty. sometimes i find my sister and she is real messed up because she hasnt gotten enough blood and i have to give her mine. then once i find her i look for my mom. and use to my dad would be helping me but he would not be a vampire.. but now in real life he has past away so my dream has altered. now he is running through the forest with me and a werewolf gets him and he dies.he never becomes a vampire but their always after me.
ive decided that maybe it was a past life or something because it just feels to real.

I thought I would mention two sentients.

Tussion: basically humans with over sized lower eye teeth "like tusks" but not too long but long enough so they protrude out of the mouth and above the upper lip.
They are a lower class that does minial jobs, like waiters, trash pick up, ect...

WaLilly: basically freaky water Nymphs. They are beutiful A-B cup women with dark hair and always seem to have a tan. However they can create at any time a membrane extending to long lengths if need be from any point of skin on their bodys. Normally they just extend them from the arms to create wing like structures for fast swimming or webbed fingers or toes. But I have seen them especially the older ones extend them like tenticles or can even change the color as though they were wearing cloths. Even make alternate patterns for them.
The first time I saw one was outside of a city. It saved some kid from the local authorities by sourrounding him and herself with the membrane to form a big wrap and squirmed off like a big worm into the swamps outside the city.

A water nymph aren't they called Nerads sometimes. Well anyhow I saw something odd in a dream once. I saw a being that had four eyes, two mouth and four ears; it's color was red. It's form was mostly human though other than those features. It's wierd what you see in your dreams sometimes. I think I saw Marduk in my dream.

Aha, I like this thread. I thought it was just me.

I was just drifting off to sleep once when this horrible thing appeared in my minds eye.

The only way I can describe it was like a cross between a cat a fox and a deer. I mean, it's body was as slender as a deer, it's features like that of a cat but it's muzzle and ears were like a fox, and it had a blueish tinge to its fur. The whole vision only lasted for a millisecind, if that, but it scared the shit out of me and I never forgot it. It turned to me - really slowly-and it had hellish eyes and it's jaw dropped open in a smiling snarl and I saw it had thin white needles for teeth. I sat bolt upright with that cold feeling you get where you've been badly scared. I never saw it again but I've never forgotten it and just wonder how on earth my brain could come up with something like that.

thats so strange the first thing that came to mind was a Kilin "Kirin". A very gentle creature "the chinese counter part to a Unicorn"

Mota-Deer: "don't ask about the name thats just what the locals called them" It looked like a christmas decoration "too perfect" had a cotton ball like tail, and a metal blade sticking out of its head "hard to describe"
Think of the tails of those sharks where one fin is longer than the lower one. only made of metal with the long part pointing forward. It also had sharp needle like teeth but it was brown in color and had no ears and a rounded almost Iquana shaped muzzle.

Well, it did look cute until it looked at me. The contrast was what helped make it so scary.

Crazy Stupid: something from when I was young, Think the big white easter bunny merged with Bugs Bunny with big round Stoned out eyes and have it dance around laughing like a mad man with white arc bolts of energy shooting off of it destroying the area.

what kind of T-Rex? Jurassic park Style? the old peach shaped body upright version? or something else?

The Twilight Strawberry: exists only on these floating islands in a place that is eternally bathed in a blue light like under a full moon but with out a moon.
The Stawberries look like strawberries only longer and bigger and are blue.
They taste nothing like real strawberries or anything I can describe, its absolutely delicious though, like refreshing taste, like euphoric taste. Like nothing in reality and they are full of this blue juice that explodes in your mouth. The best I can say is its sweet but not too sweet and has a texture like smooth skin. and its not sticky or smelly. The smell seems to make me high though.

All of the antaginests *sp* in my nightmares have the ability to turn into the Komoto Dragon.

The Komoto Dragon has been known to grow 10 feet in length and weight more than 300 pounds. The most alarming feature of this lizard is it's mouth. The Komoto dragons Produces a poisonous bacteria containing 4 unknown toxins to man kind. And this beast can move at alarming rates for it size.

Always in my dreams as I am running I turn around and see this 10 foot giant running full tilt with it's mouth open at me. One bite and after days of excurciating pain I would die and this Lizard would tear me to shreds and eat all of me.

i see snakes....and rabbits.

Bees, super bees are a reoccuring creature in my dreams. I often dream about many of this super bees stinging me...oh, wolfs and bears that don't move, act or looked like how they should.

Animals that behave differently are in many people's dreams lIke the talking Gorillas I mentioned.

Sky Snake: a snake looks like a normal garden snake but it slithers through the air.with no seen means for it to be able to do that.

a food:

Bubble food: annoying food would be better or nightmare food. It looks like normal dishes from the wakeing world but when you bite into it it has no taste and often pops into nothingness.

The Charcoal bush: Its looks like a ratty burnt bush but has chunks of apple sized charcoal as fruit. "The things you see on a tour through the Fire Hell" :fpope:

Lung Chin Grass: an underwater grass that tangles around anything thats not a reptile. Only been in one river that I have found in the elaborate land scape that has mapped out in my dreams.

Lung Chin: tiny chinese dragons that live in the Lung Chin river. Very cute and playful. they swam through the water and out of it into the air.

The X-Files:

Okay, I recently purchased the first season of THE X-FILES on DVD, and I've had a few "out there" dreams since buying it (I've been watching 2-3 episodes before bed, which is why I'm having these types of dreams).

Well, last night, it all began at my Grand Mother's old house in Flordia, and I was in the living room down stairs, watching TV, and I heard a child scream. I look out side the double glass door and saw 3 kids out side; one was in the swamp 9which in real life was a river) and it was a little girl of 4-6 years old, and she was screaming and looking for someone or something, and the other 2 were sitting out on the bank. Then this croc came slinking up and it was rotting and the top of it'ss jaws were missing and it had yellow eyes.

The dream jumped to me in a car with Agent Scully and her chuffer driving us to gods know where. Jumped again, to find her telling me about Harisho Cain, (as in the head CSI in CSI:Miami) the dream jumped again to us hunting this shape shifter who was a little girl.

And yeah, that was my dream.

interesting, that reminds me of this freaky thing I called a GataGator,

I dreamed of it after playing Parasite Eve, it had no eyes and instead had these tubes where they should be and some messed up looking skin like purple bulby flesh.

Beta-Shark: a Beta "Siamese fighting fish" only it had a long extended body and was about the size of tiger shark. but its tail fins were still in proportion iso their was like a twenty foot tail on this thing "male beta" and it had shark like teeth.

Look im new into this so i just wanna tell you i would like to know why since i met a weird girl i have been dreaming whit something like a black phanter with green dots and it atackes me, then, i awoke and find out scratches in my arms(maybe i do this scrtches myself while i dreming this thign atacked me) so if any one know whats that or why i have this dreams i wold like you tell me the name of this thing taht atacks me because i cant sleep since i began to realiza the scratches and plaesei would want you take this post seriosly becuase it is true.

i wolud like to forgive my mistakes writttin this because i am mexican so i am not use to write in inglish

could be her dream beast/guardian and for some reason it doesn't like you. May want to look into this.
I personally have discovered that I have a black cat that does take on a Panther like form as a dream beast "a sort of sidekick really"

But these seem to be reoccuring things for many people.

How severe are the scratches?

It could be her guardian, or it could just be a random cat demon haveing fun. or any number of reasons.

Rguen, what about Sentient Tornadoes (ones that chase you)...do you ever get them? The Elements always figure hugely in my dreams.

seen sideways spinning tornadoes with cloud based snake heads,
and rivers that rise up like a cobra.

Only on occassion and usually just a spell during a fight scene in a dream.

First happened after Watching Slayers the movie so I put it off to the scene where some water wizard made a dragon out of water.

Once I saw the Grim Reaper, everything started catching on fire.
Other then that I have seen some retty weaird stuff.
Like one time, my grandma was the terminator

Oopu: a small herbivore living on the edge of the plains and the dark forest landscapes in my dreams. Basically take an otter. give it the feet of a rhino "proportianal feet to its body" and a head like a cross between a Rhino and an Opossum. and have the tip of a scimitar sticking out the middle of it head length wise.

I had a strange dream aplenty. It was dark and gloomy, but i could feel the wind blowing through the leaveless trees and in my long hair. I thought i was dreamwalking, but i wasn't. I was walking through a dirt path that looked familiar to me in Germany. I kept walking but here strange noises in the wind and the ground was whispering to me to go away; flee. But being me i had to find out what it was all about. There was alot of statically sound and static air as well. I saw shadows that weren't normal. One looked like a wolf but had strangly a spiked like tail of that of an iron weapon used in the 1600s or so. It gave a gurgling sound with a screeching voice. It must of not wanted me to go were i was going cause it chase after me. It glowed greenish with hellish black coalish eyes burning at me into my soul. I ran as fast as i could only finding a deserted villiage. Or so i thought. I went inside a dark house not noticing the red claw marks but i had smelt blood. I entered looking around automatically adjusting to the darkness. I saw dolls and toys riped apart and bodies that weren't exactly human bodies. The blood was still fresh i could tell. There was writing on one of the walls facing opposite of the two full moons glowing. The writing was in drudaic. But not the ones my druid teacher taught me. It seem too old and ancient as if i had travel back in time before the druids excanged with christians. The writing was not created by a human but more like canine teeth. I turned around when i heard a whimper. I saw half of a dogs face and facial body organs hanging out. Its one eye looking at me. I knew the dog was suffering cause i remembered i was looking around for something to end its life with. But something caught my eye. I went closer and around the dogs face. I saw horrifying pics of creatures that were mutated having organs outside their body. It was like a lab project working on wild and domestic animals and something horribly went wrong. And i knew that wrong was outside somewhere waiting, searching, and playing or toying with me as if a child would play with its food. that didn't make me to happy. i knew i had to get out. i was turning around when i step on something that wasn't solid. I looked down and found like a small door. I opened it slowly and found it was a stairway down to somewhere. I went down there and found people that had ids on. I read that some were from sweden, germany, japan, russia, and north korea. I found a computer still working and me being a good hacker and all. I hacked into the computer finding over 300 files on animals and humans and metals and poisions. These files had pics of what happened to the procedures and if it failed or made it. Horrible things were done. Then after looking at the files i noticed something was blinking in the corner of the camera file. I opened it and saw them doing a procedure on some creature that looked somewhat similar to the shadow i had saw. It looked like everything was going okay and i was going to turn it off cause of how sick it was. But then blood was over the camera screen and then sceams and that horrible gurgling sound and screeching voice sounded on the camera. Then one man said i knew we shouldn't of done this. we created a monster from hell. and now we're paying for it with our lives. I'm sorry maria i love you tell julie that i love her too. if anyone gets this please give it to my family.... ah ah crack and i knew that the bone cracked. and the screen went blank. i knew i had to get out. the next thing i knew was i was choking and then i woke up with my mom beside me shaking me like crazy telling me to wake up because i was choking and screaming. I know it just had to be a dream nothing has come up yet about it. but it was to fucking real to care. Three days later the doctors give me this crap that puts me into a mode were there is no dreams or anything just sleep. but it scared the crap out of me i don't know what to think.

Usually I see wolves and snakes in my dreams.

You got to love those amped up dreams. Have had many of my own that I wont go into. After one such encounter with a demon named Oh-Ra-tics I made it a point before going to sleep to remind myself to hunt him down in the dreams and have my revenge for him intruding on a blissful dream and trying to give me a nightmare.
Funny thing is though that once I realize what is happening I snap out of "dream mode" which is going with the flow and go into "dream god mode" or a lucid dream basically and have a tendency to have my revenge on what is trying to cause the nightmare. Sometimes even turning the tide on them and changeing it into a nightmare for the monster in the dream.

a good example being this demon who was trying to make me dream of being a little kid in a kitchen with this woman saying I had to eat nasty broccoli while any food I tried turned out to be Bubble food "see an earlier post for specifics on that" But for an instance I saw this horned hag in a wall and "dream god mode" kicked in and I changed everything instantly forcing the hag into the room and changing the room to have a number of horned demon heads of various sizes on the wall with me bragging about them to a new lady. I even ignored the hag letting her think I still couldn't see her until it was funniest by saying, "and now I have a new prey to hunt" and looked straight at her. I took flight "wings out the back took on a giant biped wolf/jackal/fox form "a good description of it in otherkin poll thread in this section"
Weirdest thing is that just before I was about to catch her, she cried out for satan to save her and a macktruck slammed into me with a red skinned bull horned devil at the wheel. He bailed out the door just as I was tareing the truck apart and he vanished. I woke up saying out loud, "next time you die bitch"
Imagine seeing someone waking up saying that.

Cerebral Vortex: This was a messed up dream. Imagine three elongated skinny human brains spread out in a triangualer pattern from eachother with a purple vortex between them.
I think it was somehow inspired by the Jump Gates on Babylon 5,but i have no idea why it was three brains.

Serthink: Okay imagine this, a green snake body, with the torso, little skinny arms and head of a Roswell Grey alien.

It was directing normal Greys to do perform experiments on Human captives. I wasn't a captive I was invisible and floating about watching all this.

The Two sightless Ghost Dogs: just saw these last night. Two ghost spaniels that couldn't see each other or any living thing unless it touched the leash around the dog's neck. Although it was weird that the two dogs couldn't see each other either and were trapped in a small white room in the Labyrinth. I would grab onto one leash and let it try to bite me. But I found that when I grabbed both leashes at the same time the dogs saw each other and started to fight each other.

Ninjy: popped up after Playing Super Mario Bros. 2, basically those lillle star looking ninja things, only in the deam it had a neck and fangs and drank blood like a vampire from cows.
