ok, is it just me or are movies about vampires just perfetic,
i mean they have no idea what a vamp really is and to top it off they call us things like blood sucking vermen and animals....

well i definantly aint no bloody animal, i dont go out and kill everyone for fun,although there are some i would like to get hold of, but the point is i know this is just entertainment but couldnt they get it a bit more right i mean come on flying across city's killing three or four people every night and if any one would be conssided a animal it would be those f'ckn vampire hunters what the hell is up with those fag's?............................

As for my view on the subject I believe we are all animals. As part of the human race as a whole I would throw us all in that blood thirsty pot. I have not met a person in my life who was not capable of being an animal. Also if vampires were portrayed as lovable, huggable, hello may I bit your neck creatures, they would make no money. Voilence sells.

well maybe we can be animals at times and yes violence does deffinantly sell, hell i love violence, but we still dont just kill anyone we cross its just bull shit. and you can still have violence in the movies but why do we have to kill every one, why dont they look at the real f'ckn vamp for fuck sake.

A film about "real Vampires" as you call them would be extremly dull. As you say, you are really no different from Humans except for the blood lust and the odd quirks. It would be very boring and no one who is a Vampire fan would be particuarly interested.

and the movies can still be entertaining vamps can still kill people and still have all the amazing powers that we all wish we had, but they dont have to say the things that they say which are crap.the only movie where we are not betrayed as these weird creatures is "queen of the damned" and maybe "interview with a vampire" which were both exellant but didnt take it to far and where both emenslly entertaining..............

You are putting to much into a name. The name vampire will always be associated with such images. I do not see why this bothers you ... you are not such an animal ... so why see the association.

Perhaps because in some ways ... the association appeals to you. Personally ... I do not broadcast my nature to people ... most would not understand ... and those who do are few and far between.

I have no desire to have people categorize me. I use the term "vampire" as it most closely defines what I am. It is a beginning point for understanding. But I do not internalize the negative aspects of the word. You choose how you see yourself ... others opinions do not matter.

I get the feeling that many like to tell who and what they believe they are. That bit of information elicits a great ego booster for the person making the statement. It causes a reaction in others that holds a certain appeal ... the bad ass vampire. All mysterious, powerful and predatory.

In some respects many use the name and its associations as a way to feel better about themselves ... to boost their self image ... to elevate their standing among others. So ... if you embrace the name ... you get the good with the bad.

Anyway ... there are movies and books about serial killers ... do you see all humans in such a connotation. Popular culture often portrays groups and races of people in a disparaging manner ... do these portrayals make you see those people in a negative way? My point being ... popular culture portrays just that ... what is popular. Fiction is fiction ... and reality of reality.

As was said earlier ... a movie or a book about modern vampires ... would in the end have to be embellished ... For in reality ... we just really aren't all that interesting. Perhaps our greatest point of interest is our use of the word "vampire."

You said that a real vampire movie would be dull! Yeah it would, if they put some unexpirienced vampires who only know how to show their teeth! But not all Vampires are human allike!

Take my friend Davor for an example! Man that guy is 2 m tall, and 95kg`s weight! But he is a real artist in moving, jumping, runing, hiting, fighting, even biting! He is much faster than I am, and I am fast! He could get behind your back without you even noticing him! Now that is what I call a real Vampire!
