To all the TRUE vamps out there i have a question...
Since living the vampire lifestyle supposedly restricts
too much sunlight, does it make it hard do do things
in the day? for example employment or shopping??
The lifestyle seems rather impractical to me.
oh well. i guess you either learn to live with it or
work arround it.

true, the society today is really not made for vamps, but then again, it was never meant to
the society today is also really bad to those who wake up late and are most productful in the afternoon or evening, todays society is made for one kind of man and for noone else, if you are different then it is up to you to make it work

Well, there's always night jobs?
I'm thinking Northern Norway would be excellent for vampires. Half the year, from October to March, more or less, depending on where you're at, there is no sun whatsoever. It's the dark time of year, the sun sets in October and won't come back up until March.
They would have to emigrate every summer though, when the exact opposite occurs, sun 24 hours a day all summer through.

Lol, thanks...it's me. :)
I don't live up north though, I'm more than happy down in the south. We don't get midnight sun here, but our winter days are very short, down to four-five hours at the shortest, and occationally we get northern light...real pretty.

In North America, in major cities, 24 hour shopping is available. Where a 24 hour city exists , 34 hour jobs exist. Imagine the access of late shift Drs., nurses, emts and hospital cleaning staff have to blood and patients. fol the fool

I would think that today's world would be far more hospitable to a vampire than any culture up to this point. In this day and age, the streets are lit up with electricity and the traffic never stops anymore. There's always a movie theater open, there's always a convenience store open, there's always a Denny's open, after-hours clubs, third-shift emergency rooms, everything. We have finally seen a culture where a vampire could actually blend in amongst us. Up until a hundred years ago, nothing was done after sundown, except maybe some hard drinking and petty crime. Nobody opened their doors, nobody kept the shop open, nobody wandered the streets. Now, we have rock-the-clock coffee shops and ATMs, we have voice mail and telecommuting, we have everything that somebody needs to actually have a home, a job, and a life, without ever seeing daylight. The combination of a paranoid society full of shut-ins and a profit-conscious corporate environment have finally given us a world where it is not inconvenient to avoid daylight.
Vampirism used to be impractical, but no more.
