Hello. I just wanted to bring up the topic of the Moon. Has anyone out there noticed that your moods change within the different phases of the moon. I am personally drawn to it. I love the full moon...it makes me feel charged with this awsome energy. Ever since I could remember the moon made me feel like I am a superhero, for a lack of a better term. I always had the urge to run around naked in the moonlight, but never had the opportunity. Is there any reason in anyones opinion that I feel particularly drawn to the moon? Thanks!

i find the moon to be a very calming thing in the sky, i realy dont like it when i cant see it, and i feel alot more at ease when its glowing at its full brilliance, i think its just psycosomatic for me though

Yep i feel drawn to and energised by the moon.. I find that when it is waxing and eventually becomes a full moon for some reason without failure im always happier in the weeks leading to the full moon and on the days of the full moon i feel on top of the world. Might be coincidence who knows unsure.gif

As to why you are so drawn to it im not entirely sure ..but i think it might have something to do with the energy of it that you are drawn to..the others will more than likely have better knowledge about it than me.

I haven't noticed anything with the moon affecting my mood, but I have noticed that I feel better, or in a better mood at least, on "gloomy" days. I just seem happier on days when it is very overcast or raining as opposed to sunny days.

It is facinating, isn't it? Its just floating there, tickling our curiosity. The current favorite god of the moon is Lillith, if I'm correct, and there are numerous rites and such that can be integrated in your own rituals. As for the superhero thing, yes. I believe that it is a becon of power from some higher entity. No one has just been able to tap into its power quite right though... I'm working on theories on this and the presence on "divine darkness". If you're interested, contact me.

The moon is pretty awesome isn't it? But it's strange, if you think about it... None of us said we loved the sun, when its the sun's rays that makes the moon glow... Life's a mystery, that's for sure. Why do we feel so spiratually intuned to the moon, but forget about the sun?

Well I never said I didn't like the sun. Infact I love the way is showers my skin withit's rays. I just don't like when it burns my pale skin. I do find myself sad on days when the clouds reign in the sky. I am a Libra, ruled by Venus, and I am also a Cancer rising sign (The time of day you where born.) Cancer rules the moon. So maybe that has to do with my fascination with the moon. I do love the night as well. I guess youd say I'm a night owl. Isn't that a hoot...LOL. Sorry about that cheesy remark, had to say it!

The moon makes me feel "witchy", hard to explain it but my energies get all stirred up during the new moon and full moon. I feel like i have all this potential to do something but I don't really know what it is or how to tap into it.

Ancient times, the moon associates with woman and her fertility, monthly cycle
powers of nuturing and powers of darkness.
Moon ruler of night and the mysteries of the dark, represents wetness, moisture,
intuition, emotion ,tides, the phychic, moods and madness.
The moon is the source of Witches Power. The great Goddesses etc
Lunar phases governed all facets of life.
So beware the Full Moon if you get scared of the dark lol
Also that is why they called people locked in looney bins Lunartics as they always go crazy on full moons.
I myself find Full Mooons sexually arousing Blushing they do give me strange
powerful emotions.

Sometimes I find it hard to sleep under a full moon. Especially one that lasts for three days and shines bright enough to light up my whole house. It might just be a mental thing but as long as its light touches any part of my skin under those circumstances.. I cant get an ounce of sleep. Unless I go and heed its calling O_O
Which come to think of it, usually results in either really intense dreams or a solid sleep with no dreams at all.

Oh and the sun does have its moments. When its not smouldering hot and so blinding by its radiance. Speaking of which, most would probably admire the sun a bit more if they could actually gaze at it and not go blind. Which I guess is why I like it most when accompanied by clouds.

The moon relaxes me too.. its soothing..

One of my workmates has worked in telephone customer servies for decades.. and she swears that she always gets more nutty callers when there is a full moon..

I think when something is powerful enough to control the oceans.. it has to have some sway over us puny humans too..

My sister goes absolutely mental when there is a full moon, she just won't stay still, but it doesn't seem to affect me at all.

Firstly welcome to the forum.

It does seem the moon affects each individual differently and to different degrees as seen in the previous posts. I think however the moon does affect everyone even if we cannot always indentify it when it occurs.

Return yee children of the night,
descendents of the great demons,
to the moon lit sky which is thy right.

The sun and the moon

I prefer the moon, the full moon bathes the land in blue light and makes even snow covered fields beutiful to me.
it acts as a "filter" of sorts for the over whelming power of the sun.

through out history The moon has been the center of feminine powers such as Hecate, Innana "or her sister I forget", and Athena
"not LILLITH!!" but never mind that as its off topic.
The moon is the center of magic "like the cpu of the mystical energies tied around this world by some long forgotten powers of ancient times"

The sun has had center stage through out history as it makes the landscape easy to see and is a symbol of power for its ability to kill and "see all" illiuminate.
SO the sun gods get the big temples and all the elaborate ceremonies "to quote with out quoting it has been said if an alien culture were to examine the bible they could easily come to the conclussion GOD is a sun god."

while the moon goddesses get little altars and sacred places but are still revered only more secretly but just as sacredly.

As for the moon holding power over me? yes my "magic" is affected by the phase of the moon.

Hey all. I am going out on a limb here to say that the horrific earthquake/tsunami happened on the day of the full moon. Hate to blame good old Luna, but don't you think that it's odd?

The moon holds a mystery and beauty the Sun can not compare too. Many wiccan rituals revolve around the phases of the moon, in it's time of waning and waxing. For me the Full moon holds beauty and magic turning any kind of night into a landscape of my dreams. Other than that I get my rag the day after the full moon.
