Ok, so theres this kids who dyed his hair black, read "Interview with a vampire", bought himself some plastic vangs and bit himself a few times. Now I usually nod this stuff off, but he thinks being a vampire is something fun. Well its not. Imagine not being able to go outside as much as you like, and when you do it feels like your being pricked with needles? Having friends, and even family members find you a stranger? No one really knows Im a vampire and you would not take me to be one, I dress like anyone else, Simpsons T-shirt(Worn over a long sleeve), jeans, and the excpetional Ray Ban sunglasses and "Harvard Football" hat worn everywhere. Well, word got out that I was, probably from one of my friends whom I had told, and this kid saw competition. Everyone nodded me being a vampire off thinking it was some stupid rumor, but this kid didnt. During lunch, he was haning out with some of his psuedo-vamp friends, as I walked by he smirked and pricked his wrist, not a slit, just a prick, and licked the blood off. I nearly burst with laughter. He apparently was intimidated and kind of drew it across his wrist slightly just bringing out a tad more. I was sick of this, I have incredibly sharp canines so I put my teeth to my wrist and slid them right down the highway bringing out some blood. It kind of shot out but I caught it in my mouth and licked every bit of blood up. I cleaned up and said "Try that" and walked away.

Posers get discovered one day . .and some are just obvious. Don't hate what he's doing when you don't fully understand your own vampirism. Be patient, even though they are posers it is a part of what they have come to believe . . .

and i'm nto saying this coz he's new at vampirism or anything,
but I do think that this kind of showing off is a psoer not a vampire thing,
I don't think someone who is sure that they are a vampire would do anything to prove someone else they were more of a vampire than them

I agree that a real Vampire won't want to draw un necessary attention to themselves . . and it is because you know what you are and what they are not that you should not have to resort to biting your wrist and issuing challenges.

exactly,
how would a vamp ever get any food if he/she told everyone that he/she is a vampire and everyone would just feel fear at their presence,
I think of a vampire to be more of a quiet predator that hits from nowhere rather than one who ahs to chase his/hers pray to feed...

Was gone for awhile....but Im back. Wasnt born a vampire, became one at age 11, and Im 14 now. I probably should not have done what I did, people look at me a LOT stranger now, and even though Im a vampire I shouldnt toy with my abilities, temptation got the best of me.

And you are right; on must not toy with their abilities; in my eyes you get more respect if you can taunt them and do not for the sake of being more intelligent and more wise.

I agree that a vampire should remain hidden, if that's the right way to phrase it, so that should the time come everyone would just brush it off because they wouldn't believe such a thing. It is part of what makes a good vampire.
When I think of an excellent vampire, I think of Lestat. The character of Lestat has been able to hide within human society and blend in so accurately that humans don't fully know why he is different. Even though he is fictional (sadly), it is something that all aspiring and current vampires must take notice of.

I do agree with you in that the competing between them puts them at the same level, and this particular problem kind of seems like it was self-caused, and possibly a bit arrogant in terms of the guy that posted this thread. However, I think in general, we should be open to all sorts of problems, including people with questions relating to school, though I think this particular post was for the purpose of showing off...

i personaly think that he is just another poser and there is many like them but you really shouldnt argue with him about it because it will most likely fade like all other fads, that also is happening at my school. i dont think your wrong about biting him because although it may not be the best thing to do i would have probably done the same, but i think that from now on you should just let him try to be what he will try to be because although you may try most people cant be changed. so my advise is just dont compete with him he is most likely just another one of those kids trying to be cool so leave it alone it will fade.

What would you guys even consider a poser? Aren't you are who you are, no matter how crappy you act? First of all, a vampire doesn't have to compete with other ones to prove who is "better". That seems mearly childish. These days, being a vampire seems to be all about the look/fashion, etc. What ever happened to just being a vampire because that is how you are, how you feel on the inside. I'm really not trying to insult anyone, I'm just asking this; You may have pale skin, wear lots of black, but do you really consider yourself a true vampire?
Oh, and I like this smily> :icon12:

I really do find this interesting. I think that when he heard about it he did feel alittle threatened by it. But more important is that you felt the need to prove yourself to him. If he is a poser and you knew it, why did you feel the need to do what you did? I dont understand why you needed to do that. I think that you both were intimidated by eachother. :banana00:

so let me get this straight, a poser is someone who wears black, buys fangs, and likes to think of himself as a vampire?
shame on all of you who dared to be so arrogant that you could even consider that wasnt a vampire, this entire list is filled with people doing what ever they can, commiting crimes, and forsaking the easy road to be what they think they are and you guys trash the thought that someone else might want to be special, god havent any of you even seen an after school speical, if being a vamp was some big curse then maybe people would stop trying to find place where they hang out, read books about them, and stop pretending or wishing they were one, i am saddened and shamed that i even suggested this site to other people from what i read one this thread, being a vampire, or a witch, or a werewolf, these are things we try to do to be special or to fit in the bodies that we were given, and some teen only got congrats for trying to look special to a kid who was trying to belong, the lack of humanity here has nothing to do with death blood or the beyond, just regular every day apathy
