Illegal Vortex

Well, I was went to a graveyard during halloween afternoon to take some pictures with my friend for her photography class. (photo teachers think pictures of old gravestones) look pretty.. Anyways, while we were there we ran into a group of 4 people who also had cameras, but were also equipped with tape recorders. We were to find out that the 4 of them were "ghost" hunting. Basically what they told us was, they would walk around until they got a "certain" feeling, take a picture, and then when the photo develops, there would be some type of a glow on the picture. They also said there were times when you ask a question to a "ghost" whenever you have the "feeling" and it may be answered on the tape recording if you are lucky. Now, I haven't tested this out myself, but I really don't think that they were lying.. If anyone of you have ever done this, please respond telling me about it. I'm planning on going either later on today or tommorow....Hey, even if I don't get any ghost pics, I'll still get some pretty pics of grave stones.

I actually used to be part of Seven Paranormal Research in NC for awhile, and I'm thinking of starting up my own group (Phoenix Rising Paranormal) with some friends of mine who are interested/sensitive to that sort of thing.
I've got the handbook from my old group, and I can tell you that it's not all about taking pictures and thinking you'll get something. The worst thing is getting what you think is a ghost and it turns out to be the reflection off of a street sign just out of frame.
It can be fun, but it's a lot of hard work and without the research part, it's just a bunch of hooey.
And yes, even after everything I've seen, experienced and been party to myself, after all the magick and mysteries I've been witness to, I am still the resident skeptic when it comes to ghosts and the paranormal--I'm not a skeptic to debunk others, I'm a skeptic to keep my mind clear about the scientific explanations so my team doesn't look like a bunch of idiots when a photo of what we think is a ghost turns out to be a double exposure, or an EVP of what we think are voices from beyond the grave turns out to be some rodeo announcer from the next county that happened to echo just right and our recorders picked it up above the static line (it's happened before).

Given the title of this thread I would like to see actual/alledged photos of ghosts.
if not "in a weeks time" than I will consider this topic broad enough to merge it with the current "spirits and ghosts" thread.

As I said, I haven't tested this out myself yet, therefore I have no actual pictures, but tommorow seems like nothing is going on so I'm planning on going out there and testing it out for myself. I really do hope to get some pictures.

I'm going to postpone the merger for now, as it seems we may get some pictures in the future.

Actually, I do have some photos that are currently on www.hauntednc.com. It used to be Se7en Paranormal, but since my sister moved to SC recently and I didn't want to run the group, she handed it over to another couple who have since changed the look, changed the feel and made it rather trite. Hence, I am starting another group.
However....

This is one that a friend of mine took during a preliminary scouting of an investigation site in Rural Hall, NC. If you see what looks like the front porch of a house at night, you should know that you're looking at an empty field in broad daylight. I was there when all the photos were taken, the sequence of photos in that roll went from 1. Empty field, 2. House, 3. Empty field, when all three photos should have turned up different angles of the empty field for mapping purposes.
During the investigation we got so many orbs and dancing lights, whirlpools and vortexes, there was no way to post all of them to the site.

the one in the corn things, to me they look like someone was shining a flashlight in the corner, or on the wall... just what they look like to me

Upper right of the light looks like an old house on a small hill.
Could we please see one of the normal photos of the same area to compare and contrast?

I would provide photos of the empty field, but Haunted NC has all the original photos.
One of the reasons I left the group was the problem with documentation as far as logging photo files and storing negatives, timestamps on vehicles passing the area, and roping off areas under investigation.
Yes, some of the photos in the tobacco barns (not corn shed) look like a flashlight in the corner, they very well could be, who knows because someone didn't properly rope off the area prior to photos being taken that night. I insisted to one of the directors of the group that some of those photos not be counted as "real" because another investigator 20 yards out in the woods might have turned their flashlight toward the shed at the wrong moment and it was caught because that night there were just too many people mincing about in the woods with cameras and flashlights.
As far as I'm concerned the only one I actually think is something at all is the one of the house.
I do wish I had proof of the other two photos before and after that shot in the roll and yes, I do realize that you're all going to call me a fraud for not keeping the photos myself, but I did not take the photos so I would have no claim to them, nor am I affiliated with the group who should have kept the photos and the uncut negatives (which they never did if they thought originals would discredit them).
But to suffice to say, there was a time when I believed. That photo made me remember what it was like to believe. However, this is also the same group that, after realizing that I not only could develop my own film in the college darkroom, but I could also spot chemical stains and scratches on McMallMart-processed negatives that they all swore up and down were ghosts in a church window (I debunked my own sister's work on the local news one time right in front of her, and she was pissed at me for months), they did everything they could to keep original photos, records, and legal documents away from me out of fear that I would disprove their work.
So this goes back to my original statement of ghosthunting/photography takes real work to be taken seriously, otherwise the whole "flashlight in the tobacco barn" photos end up all over the place as "real" ghosts, and the ones that actually have some merit (the house that isn't there) gets discredited by many due to lack of proper records.

That group sounds like one that can't be taken serously as any seroiuse researcher into the paranormal must first try to debunk their own work before claiming it to be anything else. Only when you know what it isn't can you begin to hypothesis about what it might be.

I would have to say that I do not believe any pictures of ghosts,
they're just too easy tof ake,
I mean, I have pictures of me being a ghost and if I showed them to ppl and telling the right story for it (and them not being able to see me or to know how I look) then the pics woudl be thought of as pics of ghosts...

Now you know why I'm no longer part of that group and why I left it in 2001.
They were only interested in the media aspect of it, as in how many radio talk shows, newscasts and articles they could get their name into, therefore earning fame and fortune because they could see dead people.

"merged"
given the exact question I thought to use it to add to the pictures of ghosts thread. It was either this or the spirits and ghosts thread and we don't need the ghost pictures topic started in there so its going here. :fpope:

I see ghosts quite frequently, but I have never been able to capture them on film. Mainly because I see them, pull out my camera, and when I look throught the lens, they vanish. If I move the camera away, they're still there. And I hear them too. Some people think I', scitzophrenic, but I think I see and hear ghosts. Thank you.. -=sarcastic bow=-

HI,
I see ghosts too. But they're more apirations than anything else. Matter of fact, I have a ghost that lives in my house. It doesn't bother me in the sense of haunting or anything like that, but everynow and then, it will shake my bed to let me know it's there. I doubt it will let me take pictures of it though. I've named him, his name is Kori. Kinda wreird, huh?

I dont find that wierd at all. I see ghosts everywhere though. I can't walk around town without freaking people out by watching the people walking around that aren't there. I talk to them too, because they talk to me. They ask me questions, and tell me things, and I respond. And it tends to creep people out. I only know the names of them if they tell me.
